The sad thing about your stylist moving to a new salon is that you have to move, too... when your stylist is this good! Lisa G. at David Hillis is the best blonde colour expert I have ever experienced. Every time I leave her chair I feel like a million bucks, and the compliments pile up. She is excellent at listening to and discerning her clients needs, and even though my hair is long right now, the next time I go short I will make the long trip out to see her. The precision cuts I have received from her in the past have been dynamic and easy to maintain. It kind of makes me want to take the plunge again! read more

I had an appointment here to touch up my grey roots. The stylist said she would colour match my ash blonde but when done I had a thick dark brown strip down the centre of my head! Even the assistant was saying "yeah, I see it and she will have to fix it. " Next, the stylist reached my just dried hair and put 2 coats of something on to remove the dark brown. When I got home I immediately noticed I had a big bald spot along my part and a good chunk of hair was missing! The salon did not see me for 5 days and when I went in the stylist tried to say my hair must have been like that already!! I was ready to scream when the owner stepped in and agreed to refund my money, but with little apology for what had happened. Highly do not recommend this salon. read more

I had an unfortunate experience with Eleny at David Hillis salon in Collingwood last evening. I am a woman who can see many perspectives and know someone may not be happy in life. Her energy & exchange upon greeting me was unwelcoming -mechanical- unfriendly- no smile, did not engage a single question with me, she was quite rigid, and had a tone to her that I wanted to leave instantly. I was very much looking forward to a kind service experience, as I have been growing my hair out after a short cut last year, a hair cut service was special and a highlight. after a 2 min cut- $90 and as she started to dry my hair- I needed to let her know I wanted to dry my hair at home. I did not want to be in her company. I was surprised at her service delivery, lack of compassion, friendliness, warmth, tone, and communication. Just been to David Hillis in Collingwood and had an appointment with Lisa for highlights and cut. She was extremely professional and friendly, I told her what I was looking for regarding the colour and cut and I can honestly say that it turned out fantastic.
