Both the venue and the talent are something special. Entrance to the show was only $20 and they offered $2 tickets for disabled individuals. When you enter you will find unique word art, velvet curtains, and the smell of complementary fresh movie theater style pop corn. There was a bar stocked with Vismos and some delicious canned cocktails by Top Dog. The Blood Orange Margarita was amazing! Cocktails were also very reasonably priced, 3 drinks totaled $24. The seating is mixed with comfy couches, chairs, loungers along with cocktail tables in front of the stage. We opted to use the upstairs area as we had a large party and enjoyed mingling between sets. The upstairs is not handicap accessible so plan to hang out on the first floor and enjoy the up close entertainment views of stairs are an issue. It was interesting to hear about the other events being hosted like a hackathon and a women's healthcare forum. This business is very blue which made me love it even more. I've included the QR code in my photos where you can catch their the wide variety of events on their very packed schedule. It's important to know that there is only street parking available so leave time to find a spot. Parking was free which was great! You do need to parallel park so be prepared if you aren't used to doing that. Fallser guests are also offered a 10% discount on food before or after the show at an amazing Mexican eatery Nextdoor called Cresta. I 100% recommend you take advantage of this. Heir rooftop bar is amazing! I love the community feel and the way the businesses on the street supported each other. I really am looking forward to seeing more shows and events at this very special venue.

The stage was at a good height to enable both visibility and intimacy. They provided free popcorn and also had Ala-carte refreshments. Staff was courteous, professional and helpful. The band was amazing. The audience was on its feet for much of a great performance. I feel super grateful to the musical artists and venues, like FALLSER, that enable a great concert experience.

I stopped in this past weekend to see "Murdering Marlowe". I'm no stranger to the arts, but wasn't sure what to expect, especially since I didn't get a chance to read about the play beforehand. I was surprised by the size (or lack thereof) of the Old Academy's auditorium. Their seating area can't handle a huge audience - but is that really a problem? The venue's intimate setting does make performances more personal; it was easy to become absorbed into the characters on stage. In particular, the actor who played Marlowe was a hoot! (Check out their show!) The Old Academy Players is a not-for-profit, largely volunteer-driven, community theater so if you've time to spare, sign up for their mailings and see where you can help!

They were very hospitable, much moreso than theaters downtown. For example, they offered refreshments during intermission, and a champagne reception after the production for opening night. Other playhouses do similar things, perhaps asking a modest fee for refreshments, etc., but it's normally one or the other (refreshments or reception), not both. It just was a few small touches like that that made us feel welcome, even when a long way from our neck of the woods. Thank you, Old Academy, for a great production, and since your season boasts some heady plays that look like they have some real content and intellect to them, we look forward to going back. Please note, we found no designated parking lot (may have missed it). They are in a residential neighborhood so we found a spot, but on show night these spots are few and far between... had to park a bit far, so be prepared to walk a bit (noting shoe type and foul weather).

This place is just different…read more I joined Second Chance Adult Dance School in February 2025. I was made aware of them thanks to an annual event by The Philly Movement Foundation. I attended a dance class preview for free & the class was lead by the school's owner Alyssa. I knew immediately that this place was for me. As soon as you walk through those doors, you're not judged by your age or size or background or level of experience. There is a place for everyone. Everyone was so welcoming. The entire place has an atmosphere of community. The class selections are top tier. The teachers are so warm and willing to answer questions. These last 7 months have been so enjoyable and the accomplishments I've felt have been so rewarding. At my big of almost mid-40s, I now take classes five days a week; I take Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Praise, West African, and Hip Hop. I also take PBT (pilates + ballet) & their Stretch class. All beginner level and I moved onto my first intermediate class for Tap. Every week I'm excited to see what is in store for me. As someone who works from home, this place not only gets me more active, but allows me an amazing social connection & networking experience with likeminded individuals. You can tell how much Alyssa loves what she does and she hires & surrounds herself with people who care just as much. I hope I'll be able to participate here so long that I move on over to the "Silver" class for the "more seasoned" crowd hahaha. This place is just different.
