As a freelance photographer, I'm always fighting the uphill battle of tracking down instances of my photos being used uncredited and unauthorized across the internet. Until recently, I have gotten along fine just handling the matters myself as they come up. However, a few weeks ago, I discovered that a website with paid advertisements littered across the page was using 16 of my professional photos as content for a blog post. This use was not only uncredited and unauthorized, but demeaning to the subjects that I shot. As it was a clear violation of copyright, I demanded payment for my services, and with David backing me up (and taking over all communications from that point onward), I am set to receive the full balance owed to me for my work within one month of the initial violation. David was absolutely a lifesaver when it came to dealing with this person. As a photographer, I know my rights in regard to copyright law, but it was a huge weight off my shoulders to know that someone else with authority on the issue was handling the case. He also understood that as a freelancer, I don't have a lot of extra budget for lawyers and whatnot, and we were able to strike a deal that was well within my means.
