He frequently didn't respond to me during the process. Before our court hearing I reached out multiple times trying to make sure he was ready with the expert witness he had me hire and pay for. Our very first court appearance he had to postpone because he failed to serve my ex! Then there was another hearing that was asked for another exemption. Zero response until a week before the hearing. I get a frantic call from Matt encouraging me to settle for less than half of what I would get in court! I refused. He gave me some story as to why it was in my best interest to take the 50%. Then he came back and said my ex was refusing that amount and it would be less than 30% of what I was entitled to, however his firm would make up the difference. HUGE RED FLAG and alarm bells went off! I work for a professional services company and we do NOT pay our clients. Then the next email I get is from an associate at his firm sending me a response filing by my ex's attorney. It detailed out Matt's failure to respond to settlement negotiations, and failing to file MY witness list (so I have NO expert) in trial. The court filing was clear this guy had not done a thing to help my case and it was all detailed out for the judge. I cried! I had waited over a year with his delays and extensions he requested on my case and now I have no chance of winning and zero faith in his ability to represent me. I took his offer as long as he put in writing to pay me the money to bring me to 50%. He said he would write off the attorney costs (well I certainly expected that since he screwed up the whole thing!) and he said he cut me a check within X number of days. Well that came and went. No money. Then he sends me a release he wants me to sign that says I won't discuss his screw ups! Absolutely NOT! He cost me money and he let my ex get away with even more BS. That was an insult on top of the injury he caused me. I filed a complaint with the state bar and I hired an attorney to represent me against Matt. I didn't quite get the amount I would have from my ex, but I still get to warn other people to run. This guy misses every deadline and can't even serve notice to the opposing counsel! Do yourself a favor and don't hire Matt Blado.

He made so many typos to our names, case #, dates all incorrect. When he corrected everything, turns out he still got it wrong! He wrote that he served her forms FL-140 instead of Form FL-410. I understand it could have been a simple error but if he's been doing this for 26+ years, that just seems like a careless mistake. To say the least, my case was dismissed without prejudice and I had to refile again. Greg answered my call immediately and agreed to re-serve her again for free since it was his error. When speaking with Greg, he seemed experienced and eager to complete the task. He was easy to talk to, and made me feel confident that he could get the job done. He assured me that he has been doing this for a long time. HOWEVER, his organization, attention to detail, and technological skills may not be his strong suit. The routine would go like this: request a meeting with Bud who would then call in the paralegal or attorney actually handling my case. Abundant promises of immediate action would ensue, but 3 weeks later we'd be in there again because nothing had been followed through with. If you decide to go with this firm, take notes at every meeting and ask the attorney to sign them as far as what they are doing and when. They delayed so long in filing my financials that the judge fined ME $5000 and then FLSD refused to reimburse despite it being their error.
