We were paying £20 for a drop in session that day and wanted to stay for open gym. We were turned away for open gym at Finchly Rd since we weren't members of their specific location. Not our fault your other location shut down, I'm not going to pay for a membership to your location that is super far from where I live. We just wanted to pay for the drop in class and stay for the open gym session after but we're told it was impossible unless we paid for a full membership to that location. Absolutely ridiculous.

The only downside is that apparently the "spa" bit - jacuzzis etc - is closed indefinitely.

After paying, we were left to find out for ourselves that the pool was closed down to one lane for ten people, with the rest of the pool left empty. The life guards then started to kick out the slowest of the swimmers before the session was half way through due to two swimmers trying to over take all the others. On the website there are strict rules of no overtaking but it was the slower swimmers who were kicked out. No where on the website does it state that you need to go as fast as you can and that everyone needs to keep up with the fastest swimmer! Let alone the fact that they squeezed us all into one lane. the staff were incredibly rude demanding the slower swimmers to "leave now" when asking why we need to leave, we were told that we were all keeping up the two fast swimmers. This is a huge disappointment due to the excitement of the pool reopening. Maybe if you can't stick to your own rules it would be best to stay closed until this virus has all blown over. It's terrible to advertise one service online, pay for that service and then be rudely told to "leave now" with the horrible attitude one of the staff members had. Hopefully they will clean up their act, but until then I would suggest giving it a miss unless you're the fastest swimmer in your class.

The exercise studio is a disgrace. Flooding damaged the ceiling and the floor, classes were cancelled so they could repair the floor but they didn't and when they cancelled them for a second time they only replaced parts of the floor and left large damaged areas unrepaired. Cheap and cheerful but don't expect anyone to return your calls or answer emails and staff are generally kept in the dark so unable to help much. The booking app is abysmal, regularly doesn't work, was supposedly updated and now doesn't work again. You can't book by phone as they don't answer. Booking via the website is ok if you know what class you want to book, if it then it's a nightmare.

It is not a normal gym membership, it is a class membership. For two years they just pretended not notice that my daughter did not take any of the lessons, while still put my daughter in classes that they knew my daughter will never go. contact them and they refuse to refund. I cancelled the direct debt myself. You know what? they called me again told me there is one month notice to cancel and they want me to setup the direct debt again to charge me one more month. it is part of my fault not to read the small print. just found the age to join the membership is 8. the previous lessons we took was not bonded membership and I did not notice the difference.

The Rainbow Centre is the council run leisure centre in Epsom. You can either attend and pay as you attend or become a member which reduces your entry fee and allows you to book courts. There's a 25 metre pool with some hot tubs in the swimming area. A large sports hall has different activities at different times but I usually play badminton though you can join things like a 5 a side league. There's a well equipped gym upstairs. All available for a fraction of the price of one of the posh chains. Another cool thing is that they offer discounts to hospital staff. If all you need is a sports facility, the Rainbow Centre will meet your needs
