This was a disappointing experience for us!…read more Closing the sale of a house always has its ups and downs, some are unavoidable due to the system. Others are avoidable . This one could have been avoided had the staff at First American understood and possessed some basic customer service skills. In a nutshell, the staff's lunch date was more important than pleasing a customer - taking a little care and attention to help the closing of the the escrow so that we could move into our new home before Christmas as planned. When we arrived at the store, the escrow assistant told us that there was not enough time to close today - even though we had checked and double checked that it could. Point blank we were told that; 1. "Our company policy is that the office has to close between 12 and 1." The regional manager later informed that this was not true, and 2. "I won't close your documents today." Verbatim. Granted, originally she said that "I can't close your documents today" (because she had to go to lunch). But later this statement was changed to "I won't". I guess I appreciate the honesty. The regional manager tried to smooth things over, lots of apologies, but from my impression, the assistant's attitude was a typical example of entitlement mentality, a lack of training and abominable sense of urgency. It may also have been because our house was only a $500,000 purchase and not $3M. Again, the store manager/Sr. Escrow Officer tried to apologize, but when I am told that "I've already spent 45 minutes talking to you about his and now I'm late for a meeting," I think I can read what really is important. The regional manager followed up, and did a suitable job. We did manage to close before Christmas, and moved in. So all's well that end's well.

I initially reached out to Peter because he was the only real estate agent who had successfully sold homes in The Dunes this year, and it was clear he understood the market better than anyone else. After working with him, I can see why. What really stood out was his pricing strategy. There was an identical home with the same floor plan just two doors down that had been sitting on the market for weeks, but Peter positioned my home differently and created immediate demand. He made sure the property showed at its absolute best by coordinating professional window cleaning, staging, and high-end marketing, including HD photography and drone footage. Within just a few hours of the home hitting the market, Peter personally showed the property to a buyer whose agent couldn't make it--and those ended up being the buyers who purchased the home. I had to leave the state during the process, and Peter handled everything. He managed the entire listing, communication, and logistics so I didn't have to worry about anything. He also provided a clear electronic timeline for the pre-listing and escrow process, along with consistent updates, so I always knew exactly where things stood. When it came time to close, we needed to complete a remote online notary, and Peter's escrow team handled it seamlessly without any delays. He was extremely proactive with city requirements as well. He identified issues early and personally took care of them, including moving a pergola and shed to meet City of Marina requirements so there were no problems for the buyer during escrow. Peter is a real estate agent on the Monterey Peninsula who knows how to price, prepare, and position a home to sell quickly and efficiently. If you're selling a home in Marina--especially in The Dunes--you want him representing you.

The BEST Realtor on the Monterey Peninsula is Peter Boggs!…read more Buying a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions you'll ever make. Choosing the right Realtor made all the difference for us. After working with Peter Boggs, my husband and I understand why he is consistently one of the highest-rated Realtors on the Monterey Peninsula. One of the easiest individuals to communicate with, it oftentimes felt as if we were talking with a knowledgeable, trusted friend in Peter. He guided us through every step of the process with honesty, professionalism, and genuine care. From the moment our offer was accepted until the day we received the keys, Peter orchestrated one of the smoothest, fastest, and most seamless escrows we could have imagined. We closed in just 14 days on a turnkey home in one of the Monterey Peninsula's most sought-after neighborhoods. That doesn't happen by accident. It happened because of Peter's local experience and presence, close working relationships, attention to detail, and transparent and clear communication. Like some buyers today, we thought we could do most of the legwork ourselves. We searched every real estate website daily, perused Reddit, explored neighborhoods, and toured open houses whenever we visited Monterey. What we quickly learned is that technology can help you find listings--but it cannot replace an exceptional Realtor. Because we resided out of town, Peter became our trusted eyes and ears. He toured homes for us, sent detailed videos and photos, answered countless questions, and gave us candid objective feedback. He met with home inspectors, contractors, engineers, and even potential neighbors on our behalf. He never tried to hurry or pressure us to buy a house; instead, he helped us determine whether each property was truly the right fit for our lifestyle and long-term goals. One of Peter's greatest strengths is his ability to educate his clients. He taught us to look beyond beautiful staging and fresh paint. We learned about coastal construction, deferred maintenance, moisture intrusion, salt-air exposure, inspections, resale value, future repair costs, and, most importantly, the overall quality--or "bones"--of each home. That knowledge saved us from making an expensive mistake. We fell in love with one home that appeared perfect, but Peter identified years of deferred maintenance. Walking away was difficult, but looking back, it was absolutely the right decision. Instead of settling, Peter encouraged us to stay patient and trust the process. He often reminded us: "There is a home for every buyer." He was right. Not long afterward, we found the home we were truly meant to own. Looking back, Peter didn't just help us buy a house. He helped us build the life we had imagined. And if finding the perfect home wasn't enough, Peter gifted us with the most beautiful housewarming surprise. He gave us a hand-painted portrait of our home by local Monterey artist Stacey Gregory, along with a top-shelf bottle of nice champagne and other thoughtful gifts. Every time we see that custom painting hanging in our home, we are reminded of our new life and the person who made it possible. If you are searching for someone who is knowledgeable, responsive, trustworthy, well connected, and genuinely committed to his clients, we recommend Peter Boggs without hesitation. His extremely personable and likable style makes the inherently stressful home buying experience unbelievably memorable. He truly believes there is a home for every buyer. Thanks to Peter Boggs, we found ours. We will always be grateful!

Im contributing a review as a former renter, having dealt with Melissa, Angie and Ashley. A lot of…read morethe positive reviews on here seem to be from the owners that Wayland provides a "great" customer service to. Almost all of the negative reviews are from renters. Be aware, Renters! Unethical, poor communication, lack of professionalism to do their job efficiently and one sided customer service. Renters to these 3 individuals are nothing more. They dont realize that renters are the ones that keep their business operational with cash flow. During our last few months before the lease expired we received a rent increase notice to roughly a $1,000 more than what we were paying. After a quick search in our area it was obvious that a number of houses for rent dictated a much lower market rent than what we were currently paying. We were basically pushed out so that the house could sit on the market for a future resident willing to pay the outrageous increase amount. Which was fine, Marina (The Dunes) isnt that great of a place anyways, so we gave 2 months notice and planned our move with plenty of time to spare for getting the house professionally cleaned including carpets and misc items. They asked if we could leave the garage shelving I had built and we agreed to. It gave them value, plus they used the threat that if I wanted to remove them that it would be a charge to repair unfinished garage walls, kind of a joke to me, so I said that's fine. Things seemed to be going ok, until we got a notice from Melissa basically asking for us to leave the house on 3 targeted days of the week so that they could ensure that during their tours that no one else was in there, to give the future residents time to see themselves living there. We had a dog and lived there full time, so I responded with something like that's not realistic for us, sorry. To which we were told they would just have to serve a 24 hour entry notice and make it work for them. Eventually we got past this issue but it was our first indication that things wouldn't be as smooth as we hoped. Skipping forward to our actual move out. Prior to posting this, I tried to contact Angie and Ashley for them to reconsider the charges but unfortunately they doubled down on justifying roughly a $1,000 invoice to do "light touch up paint" on one wall (2 marks) in the closet. So. Ive resorted to this. Below I will be including a paragraph from my email to them to share some insight of the context, to which Im sure Ashley will respond to this review with some kind of false facts to give herself the ego boost she needs. To Ashely and Angie; "I even went as far as taking pictures of the backyard for her (Angie) and taking measurements of the garage for one of the possible future residents. I managed to have the house professionally cleaned before our move out date and gave you early 2 week full access. You took all the way through the maximum time allowed to return our deposit despite how little there was to do, despite how much extra time you had. You hired a handyman to work beyond their limits because it made your job easier. You neglected to inform us that we accidentally left property (a large expensive mirror on the wall) behind and instead decided to keep it as permanent fixture for the house. How unethical is this? What was it that we did that made you decide to treat us this way? Absolutely nothing, that's just the character of who you two are." They will not give us the property back, I received a response from Angie that said the Owner of the house has made their final decision on the matter and the item will not be given back. My message to future renters, do not believe that you are valued. See through the fake smiles and empty words, they'll mean nothing eventually. We lived there for almost 2 years and paid rent on time, kept the house in nearly perfect condition, dealt with issues on our own. What else could you ask for from a renter? Good luck if you decide to rent with this group.

Ashley & Angie were very fair and easy to work with as a renter in one of their client's properties. This was not the case with certain "other" local property managers in Carmel. When it came time for us to seek assistance from a property manager for our own investment properties in Carmel, I knew right away who I wanted to choose for the job. We own 2 homes in Carmel Woods as well as residential & business rentals in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. As 3rd generation Carmel born & raised, we believe that being neighborly as well as being professional is important. Our properties were a lot of work to do by ourselves for so many years. We find that we can now travel and enjoy our time rather than dealing with all the rental details for those properties on our own. The amount of time that we now have to enjoy our lives is wonderful and well worth the cost of we pay for our new found freedom with Wayland Properties.
