Let's go back in time to around 2016 when my wife informed me she was pregnant! Ok cool! Now we were relatively new to Staten Island and so she needed to find a new obgyn. So I was like ok cool. Then she comes home and is like a found a great obgyn and he's supposed to be one of the best. At first I was all like come on go find a woman obgyn there's plenty of them but she can be a tough woman and this was important so I was like ok.... Then I met Dr Benson and instantly fell in love with him (platonically speaking) he is the most patient, friendly, reassuring, knowledgeable and professional doctor I've ever met. He dealt with both my wife and myself and we can both be a lot to deal with but he handled everything like a pro. For me, it was like hanging out with a big cousin who I enjoyed spending time with but also felt like nothing bad could happen when they are around. 9 months later my kid was born , everything was perfect , and I didn't even feel 1 ounce of pain...(lol) Fast forward a few years down the road , and we decided to have another offspring , I legit said call the doctors office and make sure Dr Benson is still working there. Not to say I wouldn't have had another kid if he wasn't but it definitely helped me to know Dr Benson was still around and would go through the process with us again. I legit felt like nothing could go wrong with him being there and if by some odd occurrence something would have he would have handled it. We also had to do one appointment with the two other physicians at the office who were also extremely nice and I think we might have done a couple more appointments with them but not too sure but overall they were very pleasant as well. The desk staff was cool. I was respectful to them and they were respectful back. Never had an issue and all encounters were cordial and pleasant. Parking is easy, never had a problem. Maybe if it's busy you have to go all the way to the back of the parking lot but I always got a spot. There's a small cafe that sells sandwiches and coffees which is pretty good and convenient and it's on the first floor left side of the building.

I was a 28-year-old married woman sitting in a doctor's office, not a 12-year-old who needed to be lectured about how pregnancy happens. The comment was completely unnecessary, inappropriate, and incredibly condescending. What happened afterward was even more disturbing. I had no reason at the age of 28 to be seeing a high-risk specialist, yet she began having me see another physician she referred me to. Between the two practices, I was being seen frequently and having repeated ultrasounds. Despite all of that monitoring, neither physician identified my cervical insufficiency. I ultimately lost my daughter at 20 weeks. That is something I will never forgive them for. When you put your trust in medical professionals during a pregnancy, you expect them to take your care seriously, listen to you, recognize warning signs, and provide competent medical care. Instead, I was left with the devastating realization that a condition that should have been considered and evaluated was missed despite frequent appointments and ultrasounds. I cannot speak to anyone else's experience, but I can speak to mine: I left this experience feeling that my care was treated more like a business transaction than the care of an actual human being and her baby. I would never recommend this doctor based on what happened to me. Losing my daughter is something I will carry for the rest of my life, and I will never forget the doctors who were responsible for overseeing that pregnancy. Also, she looks nothing like her photo. I went in thinking I was picking a middle aged Muslim woman who would be able to offer me the best of care, but boy, was I wrong ! They also love having multiple people in the room with you. Conditions were not explained well to me because the doctors were in such a rush to get me out of the office. They also sent me for a procedure in Brooklyn to a sketchy clinic, where it wasn't even clear if the doctors taking care of me on Staten Island were there. I didn't end up getting the procedure that day because the location made me so wary (Which I am so grateful for, because when you look up the Brooklyn location's yelp, and the yelp for the actual name of that clinic - Brooklyn Abortion Clinic- it has all 1 star reviews). Even worse, I ended up going to another doctor for a second opinion, who told me that I didn't even need to get that procedure done. And then, almost 2 months later, I received an incorrect bill with copays I already paid, along with charges for the 2 minute phone calls I had for my results. When I asked their billing department why they charge for result calls and don't inform patients, she said "Well if its abnormal results and the doctor takes the time out of their day to talk to you, then yeah, its a charge." So if you're sick, they charge you for it without even telling you. It feels like this office is just trying to get extra money from vulnerable women who have no choice but to pay. For the sake of your healthcare, please find another office.
