I am a 44 year old patient of Dr. Traub's and have been with him for the last 3-4 years. After being a patient to a Dr. in NYC and visiting multiple other fertility specialists (which were more like factories), I decided to find a specialist locally. I initially went there to consult with a different doctor, but after doing some research, Dr. Traub came HIGHLY recommended to me by a very good friend who was also his patient. I was a little skeptical at first, but after I met with him and his staff, I never looked back or doubted for one second that I made the wrong decision. I felt comfortable, positive and secure with knowing he would be my doctor. Dr. Traub has been wonderful. His bedside manners are terrific! He has a positive, friendly attitude which puts a smile on your face. He is professional, kind, caring and compassionate. He listens--he guides you--treats you as a human being (and not a number)--he gives you his best advice--he is very open and honest, which I feel is so important when you're going through this process since it is so very stressful and emotional to begin with. He does not recommend treatments if he feels it will be a waste of time. He gives you options. He knows your time is precious. If he feels there is hope, he will encourage you on. He was always informative with his explanations and explained things step-by-step. He is very sensitive to the situation you are going through and I felt he truly cared--you can talk to him with openness and comfort. He made to sure give me his contact info and e-mail address and told me if I had any questions or concerns, to contact him anytime! I would send him e-mails from time to time and he would respond very quickly and put me at ease. He was open to communicating with his patients and I feel this is another important factor when going through this whole process. It was a relief not to have to worry about trivial things--and I never felt stressed throughout the whole process...except for when I was waiting to get my pregnancy results! Dr. Traub and his staff were always responsive, warm and friendly. I really can't say enough about them. His nurses Sally (beautiful inside and out, so warm and caring), and Melissa (wonderful), Jahida (blood--such a warm, wonderful person), Dawn and Susan (reception--always made me laugh and were so nice and friendly). Bottom line, they were all wonderful and made me feel as if I were part of their family. They made a difficult process not so difficult. When they would call with my instructions, they explained things thoroughly and if I had any questions, they were always answered. There are no words to thank them. I'm happy to say that after multiple IVF's, we FINALLY got the positive result we've been waiting for! I am pregnant with twins which are due in Sept. 2015! AND not only did I conceive, I conceived using my own eggs! He said it only takes one good one and apparently, I had TWO good ones! He never gave up and neither did I. He has made our dreams come true and I could not have gone through this difficult, stressful process without him or his staff. As I write this w/tears in my eyes, it is a bittersweet ending. He has been there with me on my journey and now I am graduating to the next step--my next journey to be continued with my regular OBGYN. Dr. Traub has made what seemed impossible, POSSIBLE--I just wish I could take him with me or at least stay with them until the very end! That is the only downside to my journey, but I am going to be sure to keep in touch and I will visit after the twins are born. Dr. Traub and his staff will always be my extended family. My husband and I have been trying to have our first child for four years. Honestly we held off on seeking professional consultation for infertility due to my previous health issues and all the horror stories that we've heard. We were at the point that if results came back too invasive then we would take some time to heal and possibly adopt in the future. After some research, we reached out to Dr. Traub. We figured it wouldn't hurt to go to the first visit. From our first consultation we could tell Dr. Traub was genuine, kindhearted, and authentic. We truly loved his honesty and putting things into detailed perspective. In September 2021 we had all necessary check ups, bloodwork, and tests for both my husband and I; we spoke about our potential options. Late November 2021, we had our 3rd failed IUI. We then had the choice of taking a break, another IUI, or our first round of IVF. After much thought, we decided to do our first round of IVF with complete hesitancy. Luckily, Dr. Traub and his staff/team are absolutely amazing! Any questions or concerns they were there to respond with care (even over the phone or through email). The training on how to administer shots was very helpful as well. Late January 2022 eggs and sperm were retrieved. After all testing only 1 embryo was considered viable. With this emotional rollercoaster, my husband and I agreed in taking a fertility break after this round. March 1st embryo was finally transferred. Staff and Traub informed me of some success stories of only needing one great embryo, but mentally at that time I was preparing for the worst. With great patience, love and science my one embryo stuck! I'm currently starting my 5th month of being pregnant. We are still over the moon! All's healthy and well! I know every person's story is different, and I remember reading billions of reviews (being skeptical). When my wife and I decided that we wanted to start our family and we started preliminary testing to see which of us should try to conceive first, it was suspected that I had endometriosis. My OBGYN referred us to Dr. Traub. From the moment we first met with Dr. Traub to discuss our options and a plan, to where we are today, pregnant and continuing to hope for the best!...Dr. Traub has proven to be knowledgeable, attentive, dedicated to his work and passionate about what he does. Following endometriosis surgery with Dr. Traub, it was time to start our IVF cycle, an experience that I can only describe as being an emotional roller-coaster. From sitting down to discuss insurance, to training us on how to administer the medications needed, to blood-work, ultrasounds, phone calls and office visits, Dr. Traub and his staff were truly amazing! His office staff were always polite and friendly and his nurses were always patient and compassionate. When we were going through this process, we always had questions and concerns and Dr. Traub was always available through email to ease our minds. I can't say enough positive things about Dr.Traub and his team. Going through infertility is a medically and emotionally confusing process, but I am so grateful that I had Dr.Traub to guide me and my husband through it. Over several years as his patient he would routinely sit down with us for an hour at a time to answer our questions and explain options. He is extremely thoughtful and takes his time to explain the complicated medical stuff that you never thought you would need to know, but in a way that is digestible so that you always feel like you have the information you need to decide on next steps. Beyond the medical stuff, he is just a really kind, friendly person who is obviously invested in finding success for his patients. After one particularly challenging test result, I called the office to ask if I could speak to him and they told me he was out of the office and would call me back tomorrow. He must have gotten the message anyway because he called me back in 15 minutes and spent as much time as I needed on the phone with me. I've never had a doctor do that before and I'll never forget it. And just the icing on the cake- the main office is really nice, clean and convenient, they have a north shore off-shoot for early morning testing, and if I ever had follow up questions, his wonderful staff and nurses Sally and Melissa were always available to take my calls (and walk me through fertility medications 100x without losing patience!) read more

I cannot share enough kind words about this place. When my husband and I walked in back in October (2018), we were welcomed with open arms. After having two cervical procedures, I was rushed by my oncologist to try and get pregnant ASAP as I've never gotten pregnant. (PCOS). At our first appointment, Dr. Knochenhauer spent almost an hour with us going over every single detail of my past, present and our hopeful future. He asked all the right questions and let us ask anything and everything we had on our mind. We knew right away we had found the right specialist and office. I had no idea what I was getting into before starting our journey but these people couldn't have made it any easier for us. They became like family to me. From the front desk, to the nurses, to the ultrasound techs, to the phlebotomists. I can't find a single fault with anything or anyone here. After 4 months of treatment we are pregnant! Everyone here held our hands the entire way through. I've had so many questions this entire journey and I was never rushed off of a phone call or made to feel like I wasn't important. It makes me so sad to have to leave since we are now pregnant and move on to a regular OBGYN. But I without a doubt recommend this place to anyone trying to get pregnant that's struggling. I began seeing Dr. Knochenhauer in October. I always say the face of the office is the front desk and Jackie in the Richmond Valley office and Lori Ann in the Clove Lake office have been the best. So very welcoming, comforting and helpful with every question both in person and when calling.Shannon in finance sat and took her time and explained every single option with and without insurance. Dr. K has made a very difficult journey that much easier with his expertise, realness, guidance and comfort. This is definitely a profession where there is no sugar coating so although my initial results were upsetting to me Dr. K was already game planning as he was handing me tissues comforting me. As I entered two different procedures his positivity and explanation of what was going to happen eased any anxiety along with the anesthesiologist being top notch . The biggest thank you to nurse Katie and Melissa the fertility angels as they have been patient with every call to me and in person meeting. They explain each next step and pick up the phone for any and every question, especially when it came to medicine/shot questions. Erika in the Clove Road office made 6:30 am blood draws quick and easy along with every single sono tech who make it quick and painless. Although I just began and still in my first round of IVF I couldn't have chosen a better doctor or staff to be helping us. read more

I cannot thank them enough for all their support, patience and knowledge during our journey with them. Dr Traub has a very calming nature, he is so knowledgeable, answers all your questions and tells it like it is but in a reassuring manner, which I greatly appreciated during my time with them as my journey had a few bumps in the road. Dr. Traub and his staff are on this journey with you routing for you in each step you take, along with of course assisting and guiding you, this level of compassion you won't find anywhere else. We always weighed all our options before moving on to the next step, it always felt inclusive vs feeling like the doctor was just telling me what to do and when. Over the last year Dr Traub has been right by our side through surgery and three rounds of IVF. It's been a wild ride but I cannot imagine my journey elsewhere. There are not enough amazing things I can say about Dr. Traub and his entire office. From the moment we met with him he was extremely thorough. He didn't waste time waiting, and got us right in to start testing. He made me go for a series of blood tests, physical exam, and HSG test before diagnosing me. I didn't feel like I was being dragged along. There was no guessing, he had concrete answers for me and my prognosis. After multiple visits with other doctors and very long waits in between appointments elsewhere, having this experience was truly refreshing. He took the time on multiple occasions to sit with my husband and I to go over our options and always made himself available through email. His office is spotless, organized and I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. ALL of his staff from the technicians, nurses, and managing staff were always accommodating and extremely nice no matter how busy things got. They always took the time to make every persons situation feel important. In a process that is extremely hard and draining, Dr. Traub and his office makes it feel as easy as possible and always supportive. Given my personal experience i would highly recommend Dr. Traub and Island Reproductive Services. Dr. Traub was straightforward and professional with me about my particular fertility situation. After undergoing necessary medical tests Dr. Traub gave me statistics of possibility of me conceiving using different options. He was patient answering multiple questions during appointments and multiple emails with more questions. Dr. Traub helped me with his professional and personal advice when it was time to choose my treatment options for the most successful outcome. He thoroughly explained each step of the treatments. The nurses were professional and compassionate. Always answered questions and kept me updated on blood work, ultrasounds and changes in my medication the day of a blood test. Will contact your pharmacy with refills or any issues. My time with the clinic was before and during the COVID19 pandemic. The clinic took every precaution in ensuring that its patients were safe and protected. Monitoring appointments for blood work and ultrasounds are between 6:30 and 8:45 am and can be done in 2 locations on Staten Island which is very convenient. If I could give Dr. Traub and Island Reproductive Services more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. He has taken care of my medical needs for years and will continue to in the future. To be honest I thought I'd have to travel to Manhattan for quality fertility specialists. But I was VERY wrong. I found Island Reproductive through a friend, and happened to book a consultation with Dr. Traub (there are two doctors at this practice). Dr. Traub is wonderful--he treated my wife and I with dignity and respect, all the while meeting us exactly where we were with our knowledge of fertility. As two women, it was extremely important to us that we have providers who are respectful and understanding and he (along with the great staff) were just that the entire way through. He was informative from the very first consultation, and took the time to answer all of my many questions! The staff at Island Reproductive were always patient and very nice--so prompt in calling back, reminding me of appointments and just being all around very supportive. I am now six months pregnant and It all started in Dr. Traubs office; trusting him, and his staff, was the best thing we could've ever done. What can I say about Dr Traub and his amazing staff? If you are having difficulty getting or staying pregnant don't hesitate and go see him. He is brilliant, sweet, caring and will use all of his skills and knowledge to get you to have a baby. This is my second time with Dr. Traub. We had a frozen embryo from previous successful IVF with PGD and it worked. By the grace of God and Dr Traub my husband and I are expecting our second child, a baby boy in August. This time due to insurance I had to use the NJ office. Leslie and all of the girls there are wonderful. The IVF nurses answer any questions you have. Sally is always a sweetheart and Melissa adds in a scientific approach. Any questions that the IVF nurses cannot answer go directly to Dr Traub and he will call you back himself immediately. I have even had to bother him for medication renewals and such on a holiday and he still gets back to you (just maybe after his run). I add Dr Traub and his staff to my daily prayers and am so thankful to him that he helped make me a mom now twice over. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Traub. He is an amazing, caring and knowledgeable doctor. A history of fibroids and miscarriages, becoming a mom seemed impossible, until I met Dr. Traub in 2016. He removed the fibroids and kept my uterus. In 2017, I got pregnant via IVF and give birth to a beautiful baby girl in 2018. Dr. Traub, the ultrasound technician, nurses Sally and Melissa were phenomenal throughout the process. I'm very pleased with the service of Dr. Traub and his team, the office staff are always polite in person and on the phone. I'm expecting my second child via IVF; Dr. Traub and his team provided the same excellent treatment I received back in 2017 with my first child. Island Reproductive, Staten Island, NY an amazing place. I lived upstate NY and made the long commute to Staten Island because Dr. Traub and his team is that good. My husband and I had a really good experience with the team at Island Reproductive Services. We started our IVF process right before the pandemic hit. Almost instantly, there were a lot of unknowns. Fortunately, the team we worked with was professional, caring, safe, flexible, knowledgeable and patient. This was very important to us because, as it is, infertility is an anxiety-ridden journey, but when you throw in a worldwide health crisis, you are constantly debating if you are making the right decisions and whether you can afford to wait another year for treatment. I don't think we could have gotten through the months of March-May without their support. We appreciated that we were never left in the dark and there was always a plan until the next test/procedure/visit. We are especially grateful to Dr. Traub, Sally and Leslie. They have really helped my husband and I fulfill our dreams. I will say a few things about this office in general this is my third child ! and the best experience each time .. the girls downstairs ? beautiful respectful very caring and always made me feel so welcome even small talk to them talking making my daughter feel so welcome and not scared (she's 2) they always made sure to explain each step to after every blood work test .. now to upstairs the girls at the desk always so nice to me always had small talk never just to sign in and make apts ! to Dr.Traub ? by far my favorite doctor he's such a respectful man always so happy always made sure I understood each step of the way such a kind man I will not go anywhere else he's been with me since my first to now my third ! he never made me wait long he always made sure I was seen right away the type of patient care this office does with there patients is one of the best if I needed to move my apts they did them no problem always so kind on the phone ! if I ever decided on a fourth I will be back ! thank you for everything ! read more

When my gynecologist had told me to see Dr Traub I was very nervous. I didn't know what to expect and what was going to happen on the first visit. But the second I met Dr Traub and the staff, I felt very comfortable. From the very beginning Dr Traub had a plan and the ultimate goal was of course being able to conceive. I had two surgeries and many procedures and Dr. Traub was great through it all. He always knew how to make me feel better. Just when I thought that there was no more hope left, he reassured me that we would conceive. From the countless phone calls and emails, Dr Traub always got back to me and answered all my questions. The staff at Dr Traub's office is amazing, very compassionate, and helpful. They are always willing to do whatever they can to make this process less frightening and overwhelming . I started seeing Dr. Traub in January of 2019 and I did my first embryo transfer in June of 2020 and my son was born in February of 2021. This whole process is so scary and emotionally draining and Dr. Traub is such a caring and dedicated doctor. My favorite thing about him is that you are always made to feel like a priority and he is always there for any concern no matter how small it may be. Also, his whole staff is just as amazing. They are kind and patient and make you feel so comfortable. If you are working during this process you can be sure that your early morning bloodwork and/or ultra sound will be quick and efficient. The financial department takes so much stress away because they will handle finding out everything. I did my second transfer in September and I was so happy to see that most of his staff was still there. If you are looking for a doctor to take such an important journey with, I would definitely choose him. read more
