I had previously chosen another doctor but cancelled after speaking to Dr. Nowain because he was head and shoulders better. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I had several other friends that highly recommended him. On the day of my procedure, Dr. Nowain was punctual and very comforting as he could tell I was nervous. He has an excellent bedside manner to go with his skills and credentials. The procedure went perfectly, and the doctor was right next to me when I woke up to discuss the results and share pictures with me. All in all, this was an amazing experience with an excellent doctor and I'm glad I did it. I highly recommend this doctor to everyone else. I have very high standards and I'm extremely picky and Dr. Nowain met and surpassed all my expectations. To everyone over age 40, please get colonoscopies. A 30 minute procedure could save your life. And better yet, get it with Dr. Nowain. The research I did showed he was much more effective at catching cancerous polyps than his contemporaries.

I count myself lucky I met my new GI doctor, although treatment is complicated now because of my worsening injuries. Over the past four years I've had time to study what happened, review my records, and talk with professionals who helped me understand how the bias in my care took shape. The pain I was in left me cognitively impaired for a long time, which made it hard to see how dismissive the treatment really was while it was happening. Because of the wording used in my chart -- phrases like "patient is convinced" and "very likely psychosomatic" -- it's very likely the kind of language that led other doctors to dismiss my concerns and assume the problem was psychological. My injuries worsened, the connective tissue in my abdomen continued to tear, and I lost muscle support through my torso. A genetic condition was also upregulated and my skin permanently traumatized. That language still follows me through my medical record and continues to influence how I'm treated. Nearly four years later, I'm still trying to recover from my injury and the physical and psychological damage caused by dismissive, biased documentation and the prejudice that began in this office. I'm including Dr. Nowain's original notes, and other records that corroborate both the intense pain I was really in, the celiac artery compression and soft tissue damage, and the continual gaslighting using prejudicial language to dismiss my accounts and leave me in pain and suffering. These are all before the injury worsened. I can still hear Dr. Nowain's voice from that day in his office -- angry, certain: "You're having a panic attack!" When I said I wasn't, he replied, "That sounds just like something someone having a panic attack would say." It still plays in my head like I heard it yesterday. He's compassionate and cares and has knowledge beyond his seemingly Dorian Gray genes... I mean does this guy ever age? Anyway, his eagle eyes found two hitchhikers in my colon that could have become dangerous, but lucky for me, he's the best and I'm on the mend. The office answers questions via email very promptly and are on top of everything. The worst part of a colonoscopy is the prep and even that is made easier with Dr. Makhani's guidance and care.

I came to him after having wiped my GI microbiota from taking oral antibiotics and am currently suffering from SIBO / SIFO where I experience bloating, gassiness, headaches, nausea, combined with insomnia due to my discomfort. Dr. Rahbar has done a great job of listening to me, providing a comprehensive plan, and has a wealth of knowledge and is able to explain his plan and methodology in detail. He has great bedside manners and has an exceptional wealth of knowledge ranging not just strictly in the GI areas, but as well as expertise in the other organs and systems of the body. He has also helped to answer my calls numerous times when I had urgent health inquiries, even during off-business hours, without any complaint. Without him, I would be completely lost and hopeless with my condition. Though my treatment has not been quick and easy, he has helped to provide a clear plan forward to getting me back to health. I only see Dr Edelstein for colonoscopies which are anywhere from 3 to 5 years for me. I do pay a " administrative fee" for my rheumatologist who is my main Dr and I see multiple times a year. His fee is $250. I don't think for a Dr I will see once for pre colonoscopy and then for colonoscopy it is right to charge that high of a fee. After months of turmoil, I ultimately switched doctors after being told by Dr. Tabib that he didn't go to medical school to be on the phone with my insurance company for hours. I had started a biologic treatment and there was an abundance of miscommunication following my initial treatments regarding my maintenance treatment. Dr. Tabib was the ONLY one that could straighten it out with my insurance company. I put in hours and hours on the phone with them as well doing everything I could to facilitate resolution. During one phone call he made it clear that once this was worked out and I had my medication straight, if *I* wanted to part ways, he would understand. Ms. Theo (front desk) was a big part of the miscommunication happening on their end, and when I tried to talk with her about it, I was met with abrupt rudeness, but that was never addressed either. Dr. Tabib refused to discuss it. I was in tears, by the way, as I truly felt abandoned by people I had trusted with my health during the most vulnerable moments of my illness. Once we parted ways, I thought we were done. I received a bill or two after that, and paid them. It had been a tumultuous several months, and I was relieved for it to be over. And now I'm suddenly getting calls from a collections agency months later. Very disappointing ending to this story.

After sending them something to fill out 2 weeks ago they were soooo lazy to not take care of it then after having to call about 20 times they say someone will get back to you but yet again NO ONE CALLS YOU BACK.
