I never imagined I'd write this review after 10 years of a wonderfully positive doctor/patient/staff relationship, but now that this office has sent me to collections for $130, I just have to get this off my chest. After months of turmoil, I ultimately switched doctors after being told by Dr. Tabib that he didn't go to medical school to be on the phone with my insurance company for hours. I had started a biologic treatment and there was an abundance of miscommunication following my initial treatments regarding my maintenance treatment. Dr. Tabib was the ONLY one that could straighten it out with my insurance company. I put in hours and hours on the phone with them as well doing everything I could to facilitate resolution. During one phone call he made it clear that once this was worked out and I had my medication straight, if *I* wanted to part ways, he would understand. Ms. Theo (front desk) was a big part of the miscommunication happening on their end, and when I tried to talk with her about it, I was met with abrupt rudeness, but that was never addressed either. Dr. Tabib refused to discuss it. I was in tears, by the way, as I truly felt abandoned by people I had trusted with my health during the most vulnerable moments of my illness. Once we parted ways, I thought we were done. I received a bill or two after that, and paid them. It had been a tumultuous several months, and I was relieved for it to be over. And now I'm suddenly getting calls from a collections agency months later. Very disappointing ending to this story. read more

Dr. Tabib was recommended to me about 16 years ago by a Cedars Sinai nurse. Unfortunately I had to try to find someone else when he went out of network. I've tried for years to find a GI as superb but nobody came close. Either the GI's staff was incompetent or the in network GI was awful! I've now decided to rather pay out of network to go to the best than stay in-network and not have the level of expertise and professionalism I get from Dr Tabib and his phenomenal staff. We went to Dr Siamak as an in network physician. He took my son to La Peer for a colonoscopy and CT scan. We then started to get bills for $50,000 as La Peer was an out of network facility. We were never told they were out of network or that there might be any charges over the insurance coverage and are trying to collect thousands of dollars over what the insurance has paid. It turns out Dr Siamak is a principal and has a financial interest in La Peer. Shame on Dr Siamak and La Peer! read more

Dr Tabib has been my husbands liver doctor for 8 years. He has walked us through some scary times and stabilized my husband medically,and we are so thankful. Dr. Tabib is a nice guy but his front office (Tammie) is terribly dishonest. I went in for a colonoscopy consultation and came out feeling like I had visited a used car dealer. This office is all about money not the care. Anthem told me that this procedure will have zero out of pocket cost for me. But they charge me $250 for a 30 second consultation and wanted $500 for surgery center, $300 for anesthesiologist, $100 for color prep. Even before the procedure I would have been out at least a thousand dollars and this did not include the doctors' fees for doing the colonoscopy. Every time I questioned a charge or asked a question about the fees I was lied to by his front office. I canceled my appointment and never going back. read more

His bedside manner is better than any doctor i have ever known...his thorough review of your symptoms and options has allowed me to finally begin to heal from abdominal pain that had me in and out of the hospital on multiple occasions and no one had answers. As a mother with a young child any procedure that requires sedation is scary- yet there is something about Dr. Tabib that put me at ease- knowing he would only work with the best and that i was in his hands was all i needed to know. I am so thankful I found Dr. Tabib!! I credit his careful and thorough care to saving my health by diagnosing my Celiac disease. I went undiagnosed for 6 years before seeing him. Two years post-diagnosis, I am back to normal and it would not be without Dr. Tabib. He takes wonderful care of his patients, from his in-depth office visits to his reassuring and professional bedside manner. He listens, is approachable, and is receptive to my concerns and questions. I always feel like he is really invested in my care and health and is concerned with helping me get better. I know this sounds basic but can truly be hard to find. I have had two endoscopies performed by him and felt so comfortable with the procedure both times. I appreciated his recaps after the procedures and the follow up appointment to review the results and create a game plan for treatment. A note about LaPeer surgery center where he does procedures -- both times I've been there, my procedure has been delayed by hours. Multiple hours. The staff there could not be nicer and I know that the delays are out of their hands and are not because people aren't doing their jobs. These things happen and I think I got unlucky both times... But a word of warning that you might have to wait. And another tip -- park at the Beverly Center and walk over! Much cheaper than valet at the building and a very quick walk. read more

It was about tine that I scheduled my colonoscopy/endoscopy and I'm so happy I did it with Dr. Tabib. Prior to appointment, both Dr Tabib and his assistant Thea where very helpful answering any questions I had. Dr. Siamak Tabib is an outstanding Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist who studied medicine at the stellar David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a young doctor (mid-40's) with old school bedside manner which is becoming increasingly rare today. He is personable; devotes genuine interest and time by educating his patients in relation to test results and his medical opinions. This is a doctor who truly enjoys his work and his patients. Most important is his advocacy to keep you healthy through important diagnostic tests whenever needed (Colonoscopy/Endoscopy) as it is paramount for preventive measures within particular age groups or high risk individuals with predisposed family genetics. Colon cancer if found early is highly treatable. Acid Reflux (GERD) may seem to be a minor ailment but can equally be life threatening with the development of Esophageal Cancer if not controlled. Digestive issues can be concerning but with this great medic he will put your worries aside by getting to the root of the problem without causing alarm. I have been with this doctor for the last 10 years. He was recommended to me by one of the best ENT doctors in Los Angeles. Theo his Assistant is fantastic; always helpful and treats you like family. As for the billing issue complaint I see online I feel I must comment as it is very unfair to place responsibiity upon this incredible doctor and his team. In particular; he gave substantial discount even though HER error; not his and she's still complaining? It is THE patient's responsibility to know how their own insurance works; it only takes a phone call to your insurance carrier to find out if they will cover any, all or some of your costs. What person, in good faith, would set appointments to see a doctor; willingly have a procedure done while not knowing if they are even covered under their own insurance? The motive is questionable and may speak for itself. Surgical procedures require longer billing processing; just like inpatient hospital stays. It is NOT uncommon for hospital bills being processed by insurance to arrive close to 1 year later. It does not constitute a patient doesn't owe a doctor or facility any money. What kind of reputable doctor/surgeon highly recommended by other reputable medical doctors in Los Angeles would NOT have interest of investment into their own outpatient surgery center? Who would EVER want a procedure done inside a hospital due to very high risks of germs & MRSA antibiotic resistant superbugs; bacterial infections that are prevalent inside ALL hospitals; known fact. Stay out of hospitals including their "ER" if you are healthy; alive and not at death's door requiring emergency services to keep you alive. Doctors shouldn't be forced to go there either if unnecessary since surgical centers are deemed safer for many procedures than hospitals. It's the future in the now; and the forefront of where medicine and technology has taken us. It is important to stay updated by being an advocate for yourself as a patient for what is most protective for you and your family's health. Life threatening emergencies at Cedars Sinai Medical Center will always take No.1 precedence with last minute priority for all surgical suites. Your slot will be cancelled even if you've arrived already prepped for your scheduled procedure; known fact. In case anyone HASN'T noticed; for the first time in 37 years the City of Los Angeles is now overloaded with an ever increasing explosion of newly arriving residents needing emergency care; it is causing serious massive traffic jams inside both of our local hospitals. Due to Dr. Tabib's expertise and perfect age, I hope to receive his excellent preventative care for many years to come throughout the rest of my life. You will not be disappointed with this doctor or any of his staff including La Peer Surgical where they treat every patient as a VIP. Dr. Tabib delivers the best care we all hope to have when in need of a specialist. This is my second visit to Dr Tabib. Both times for a routine colonoscopy. It's one of those procedures that is somewhat dreaded. However, Dr Tabib and his staff make it a very efficient and civilized experience. The first visit is to check in and explain the upcoming procedure. What to expect and how to prepare in the days leading up to the visit. The actual procedure takes place at a different outpatient clinic which is extremely well run. All questions are answered, everyone is very professional and it's a nice quiet vibe. After the procedure there is a brief follow up with a nurse and you are on your way. About 10 days later you meet with Dr Tabib to review your test results and determine if any further work is needed. On this visit I was given a copy of my lab report & photos from the procedure, which is really helpful when maintaining your medical records. I didn't even need to ask. All in all, a great experience and recommend Dr Tabib if you need to start colonoscopy screening. read more

AMAZING, CARING AND KNOWS HIS STUFF!!! I recently met with Dr. Tabib and I couldnt be more satisfied with my visit. In our consultation he asked for a thorough history. He was interested in knowing every detail of my condition which made me feel like I was In good hands. He took his time explaining what might be happening in my body and made me feel comfortable asking questions. As soon as I explained my symtoms, he knew right away what was going on with me!! He called me as soon as my labs came in and put me on the road to recovery... literally everything he said in our consultation was confirmed by the labs.
