This is a medium busy campground right on the main road, but its never too noisy after dark. The place is very clean and the vault toilets well looked after and not stinky! The spaces are a good size and the ones for tent camping are at the back of the loop. Not much trails but you can find something to do. One of my best nights camping was up here. During the week late summer, Huge full moon, then the coyotes began to yip/howl. Magnificent

The instructor we had was super rude and condescending then had the audacity to ask for a tip and told us he only makes $18.00 an hour. Overall, majorly overpriced for what they provide.

This review is for "Phil's Trail" and not "Phil's Trailhead". This trail is beautiful, which for me…read moremakes it dangerous. So be careful. One of the reasons it's dangerous is that it's a fast straight trail with very beautiful sights. One minute you are clipping along, then you see a canyon, rock formation, or a cave and by the time you look back you are flying off the trail. So the first time you take this trail be sure to slow it down a bit. The trail starts at off of road 300 and ends at Phils Trailhead. Be warned that the first part of the trail is two ways and when it branches off from Kents trail turns to a downhill only trail. This is a recent change and I gotta say I love it! The start is pretty simple and level in elevation and nothing to be too impressed with. Then you hit the intersection where it meets Kents trail and things start to pick up. As you drop into what's called "Phil's Canyon" things get real fast, real quick. I have unintentionally caught some serious air here due to the bright sun and dark shadows blocking my vision. There are a few jumps and a small number of rocky sections but expect them to catch you off guard. Once you intersect with a jeep road, the trail slows down and you are wondering how you are still in one piece(if you actually are). This trial is best when shuttled from road 300 or riding uphill on Bens trail. As this trail is not very high in elevation it is a great one to ride early in the season. If you are new to biking, be ready to pull over for faster riders and take your time. Not knowing much about fly fishing, I called the shop at least 3 times before booking to ask questions which were always patiently answered. The booking process was smooth and Tye (owner) called me back to confirm and make sure everything was clear about the meeting place, fishing licenses, gear, etc. Our guide also called and texted the day before to see if we had any questions and to reconfirm the meeting place. We had 3 children (10, 10 & 8) in our group and our guide Dylan was amazing. He was super patient with the kids and got them very interested in fishing. I was expecting them to stop after an hour but the kids loved it so much, they fished for the entire 4 hours. I would definitely book another fishing day with them the next time we're up in Central Oregon.

This is one of the best parks for a photographer looking for a unique photo of Bend. This park…read morestarts at the base of Overturf Butte. It overlooks pilot and Awbrey Butte as you walk your way up the trail. The park at the bottom has a playground and some picnic tables like any other parks you may find in Bend. From here you can find several trails, one you can walk with your dog off leash. The other you can walk away from unleashed dogs. This trail heads up to the Cascade Highlands Trails. From here you can find some large water tanks and then the trailheads up the Overturf Park lookout. The top has a view of the old mill district and both Pilot and Awbrey Butte. There is an old fire lookout that has some interpretive signage. Over by the Cascade Highlands Trail you can find a massive off-leash area for dogs. Overall this is one of the most scenic and little know parks in Bend and definitely worth visiting on a busy day when the other parks are overcrowded.
