Sun Mountain offers a wide variety of amusements: bowling, arcade games, mini-gold, go-karts (not operational when I was there) and pool tables. Plus other stuff. It really is a complete fun center. - Bowling alley here is laid out better than at Lava Lanes in that there are tables at each lane, rather than on the level behind the lanes at LL. - Very nice mini-golf course. It's in good shape and is interesting without having ridiculous holes. - Two pool tables in fair shape. - Food menu is typical of the breed; vegetarians will struggle. - If you're here to bowl, note that there are more small children at Sun Mountain than at Lava Lanes but they tend to congregate in the arcade area. read more

Cute place with several options for entertainment. Every acitivity is affordable so you could easily do everything without breaking the bank per se. Staff was very friendly and understand of a group of rowdy children/toddlers. We enjoyed the mix of bowling, laser tag, and arcade. There were many staff members cleaning, so although it was a busy place, it didn't feel grimy like some other children's based businesses. The food was pretty standard bowling alley/arcade fair. We are visiting Oregon from Seattle, WA, and we wanted to find something fun to do. As soon as I saw this, I wanted to go. We went to play mini golf and drive the go karts, but unfortunately the go karts were temporarily closed. We played mini golf, and I was surprised how pretty the foliage around the course was. It was scenic. They have eighteen holes and it was nice and challenging. I definitely recommend Sun Mountain Fun Center, and will be coming back soon. read more

Called earlier to make sure go carts were open, just arrived and they put everything away because no one was here even though we called about 40 minutes ago and they're supposed to be open for 2 more hours. Worst service service ever I truly wouldn't waste your time in bend here. Great new facilities, bowling is much better than it used to be, but out of the 36 people in eye sight, 2 are wearing masks and none of them are eating or drinking. The skinny girl and young guy at the ticket counter were wearing their masks around their chin and half of the other employees walking around weren't wearing them either. It's been two years of doing this...we are all used to them, just wear them when appropriate and protect the people spending money at your business. read more

I overall enjoy going to this place. The games are fun, they have beer and wine so that you can tolerate being surrounded by kids, and the staff are generally friendly. The prices can get a little crazy - I have a lot more fun and pay a lot less going to the pinball/arcade place downtown. But for some added bowling and the ability to throw some balls at clowns, I'm in. :) Speaking of throwing balls at clowns, I absolutely love that game. I can play it until my arm feels like it's gonna fall off. The problem with both of those games here is that they don't have enough balls. You end up waiting for more of them to come back down. And it's a timed game. So that's a bit of a disappointment. The one that's in Portland at Grand Central has lots of balls and is WAY more fun to play. We destroy the clowns there... here you can only sit there and watch those clowns taunting you while you wait for more balls to come down. read more

My only complaint was the prices for the arcade. It has been a long time since I have been to an arcade but seeing $1.00 minimums where a little pricy for me. My kids had fun here cheap prices for the games. 25 cent skee ball! This place was hard to find Google maps doesn't take you to the correct location. It was dead on a weekday great for small kids who are impatient waiting. The food didn't look very good so we ate elsewhere. read more

Pretty decent place to bowl, even though there is typically a lot of kids. The few times I've been, they typically always have a lane- once we had to wait just a bit. Unfortunately, the service is really slow and (for adults) if you are looking for drinks, it could take a while. They also don't offer pitchers. read more

We had fun, of course, but there are some things that made our visit a bit less enjoyable. Starting with the young girl working at the front counter who was incredibly rude..not just to customers but to her coworkers as well. It was very awkward & not exactly how you want to be greeted when you first walk in. Didn't catch her name but it was 11/25 around 6:30pm front counter. However, I'd be shocked if this wasn't already known. The next girl who took her place shortly after her (soft spoken & blond) was great though! Now the issue with the games...not only is everything very expensive (partly to be expected), but every single claw machine is rigged x100. When it's $1.50 per play you shouldn't completely set the claws to give zero chance of winning..that's just greedy & upsets your customers. I didn't like that at all. There are a pretty good amount of games to choose from, so we made our way through & found our favorites. Once we were done & visited the prize counter, we were happy with the selection of prizes. Overall I'd go again when we visit bend, but really because it's all that's there. read more

It was well organized and the pizza was great. The problem was when we bowled on lane 17/18 (family group of 12). People that were getting in line for laser tag would walk right through our lanes to line up against the wall of lane 18. Seriously, a constant interruption of people walking through our lanes--the approach lanes as we bowled! I asked a young lady at the register if there was anything they could do to eliminate this interruption. She rudely said, "THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO!". I asked if they could ask the people when they paid for laser tag to not go through our space. She repeated, "THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO! They need to figure something else out. Super clean place with friendly employees. We bowled, rode the go karts and played the games. The games were pretty expensive but we felt it was entertainment and that costs money so, well, there it is. So I'm updating my review of Sun Mountain Fun Center because after several birthday parties and Saturday afternoons, my opinion has risen from No-No-Please-No-Not-That-Place-Again, to Hmm...Okay-Fine. Bowling: I can't change my bowling review. The lanes suck, and I'm pretty sure the name of the oil pattern is titled Crisco de la Sandpaper. You will not bowl your 300 here, but the prices are okay. And my kids love it. I watch. They bowl. Everyone wins. Arcade: The kiddie casino is just that. A lot of the games are colorful, bright, and engaging. Even better, the workers giving out tootsie rolls and plastic dinosaurs for tickets are pretty patient and outgoing. Whenever I think of myself in such a capacity, I can only think of the moment I finally snap and cover some teenager in bouncy balls, spider rings, and a 32 ouncer full of spit that I've been saving up since the first day I worked this crummy job. Putt-Putt: The course is well cared for, creative, and fun. There is variety to the holes, and they each fit into the Old West/On the Farm theme. I've played the course three times, and I have a blast each time. Go Karts: Pretty standard go karts. Okay course, more Formula 44 than Formula One. For about seven bucks though, it's fine. Bumper Cars: The bumper cars are the big-thrones-sitting-on-top-of-a-school-bus-tire style. I don't imagine doing them with 2-3 people is much fun, but over 4 and it's just enough chaos for intrigue, fun, and a visit to the chiropractor. The space isn't huge, but the cars are quite maneuverable. Parties, Services, Bathrooms: I don't imagine it's the funnest thing putting up with big groups and junior high kids looking to compete with Chris Rock for most profanity in a minute, but the employees at Sun Mountain do well at maintaining a balance of politeness and assertiveness. The bathrooms look pretty much like you'd expect at half time at the Rose Bowl (moist), and while I haven't eaten much of the food--perhaps you've heard of my "If the Bathroom Ain't Clean, You Think the Kitchen Is?" Rule--I sampled a pizza at a birthday party and was pleasantly surprised. So alas, yes, we'll be back. We've had a lot of fun here over the years, and you can't beat the memory of you and your son getting a hole in one on the same hole or the time you hit the bowling bumper three times and still managed to get a strike. We stopped by here on my birthday after exploring Bend and hitting up a couple of breweries. The only thing that we have tried here is the mini golf. And it was a good course but not that complex. Love to remodel!!! They were also working on installing a bar area with numerous taps. Great place for families and parties. Lots of bowling lanes. Amazing bowling lane area with tables to eat while you play. Arcade games are awesome and even a lot of new ones. Mini golf was super fun and was treed so it stayed cool when it was hot. Go carts are always a win. Pizza is awesome. Food and drinks is awesome. Always busy on the weekends so get in early. Service was great. Staff was attentive at the counter. After drinking and eating too much, minigolf seemed like the perfect activity to chill and relax. The arcade games are pretty straightforward, and instead of tickets everything gets loaded onto your card. Minigolfing was... fine, it was super dark and some holes were not well-lit at all. Some of the holes seemed very random, like just a random U-turn or something. But if you have nothing else to do, it's fine. We visited this place during memorial weekend. It was not crowded and parking was very easy. We walked in and saw the bumper cars inside, the area for the bumper cars looked small, but people was having fun. They have several pool tables, as expected some of the sticks were crooked so it was annoying to play with it, specially cause I lost. Lol The bowling area look pretty cool, they had a big screen with music videos playing and it looked kid friendly. They have a sign off the freeway that tells how many lanes are open at the moment. There is a little arcade area with lots of games for all ages from a giant cross the road game to time crisis 4, they also have stuff for the little ones to play. The games give a lot of tickets and you can exchange it for very cool prices at the counter. In the outside you find a mini-golf, batting cage and go-karts. We did the go-karts and it was really fun, they have individual karts or 2 passenger karts. My daughter and I went on the 2 passenger kart and she loved it. Overall we give 3 stars because, the go-karts fence broke and although seem like an easy fix, they closed down the game. All good because we were getting refund, but at the end they gave us a hard time to give us refund of $14dlls and instead we had to buy something there. That was annoying. We aren't from there, so we will not be going back, up until that point all was fun. read more

Sunny is obsessed with bowling! The cost of bowling at other locations prevents us from going more often. We had no idea Sun Mountain had bowling, and for some much less. $6.25 per person including shoes. Super fun with the planets, and lights too. They had a couple options for our daughter who is only 4 to use the bowling rams. We will for sure be going bowling more often. read more

Lots of equipment wasn't working properly. Our bowling alley was bad: it would stop working. It would not place all the pins in place. Upon complaining, they credited us back for that game. Came to Sun Mountain fun center to play putt putt golf and had a blast. There were 18 holes and it was a fun outdoor area. The price you could not beat at 7.00 per person. my review needs to be seen and heard because the major issue is I was BODYSHAMED by a female employee and told I needed to wear another shirt or jacket over my top. I have larger breasts than average and she was pretty much trl me to cover them up. When I have experienced this before that a girl with smaller breasts can wear the same top as me and not be told she is being offensive. It is beyond rude and shame on you for doing this to a woman who is giving you business and on a family day with her children. Shame shame shame on you, not on my body! Yea that was a weak and still inappropriate response bc the fact was I was wearing appropriate clothing and I WAS singled out. Over all we had a good time. The staff did a great job at keeping things flowing on a particularly busy day. The reason for 3 stars is the masking, or lack there of. The first thing I noticed was an employee with a shirt that said Lead on it who had his mask on his chin but never covering his nose or mouth. He was working all over the center but even when he was in the kitchen he had it down. Multiple employees in the kitchen also had masks on their chins and at one point I saw a girl pull hers down, wipe her nose, then had someone their food. The staff also weren't mentioning masks to customers who come in without them. I understand it's tough to enforce once in the facility but it is currently the state mandate. When other guests saw this they started removing masks as well. I'm sure the fact that even employees weren't wearing masks also encouraged this. It's a fun place to take kids, especially on smoky days like today but we probably won't be coming back for a while. It just doesn't seem safe. read more

What do you do in Bend at 9pm on a Sunday when you can't possibly sample another craft beer? Easy: mini golf. I make no secret of the fact that I am at once 1) obsessed with miniature golf and 2) profoundly disappointed in the current state of the industry. I am a man that craves elaborate holes featuring ridiculous obstacles, ideally with moving parts. I want to hit my ball across a moat and up a ramp through the castle's gates. Well, I didn't quite get my dream golf experience at Sun Mountain Fun Center, but it's one of the better courses I've played in a quite some time, so they've earned the right to be graded on a curve. They have one 18 hole course, none of it particularly difficult. However, it's in great condition, the holes are unique enough to be interesting, and it's well lit. In lieu of music, they seem to have attracted dozens of bullfrogs. It was ridiculously loud with froggy noises, and we loved it. This is an all-around solid course. Of course, they've got the batting cages and the go-carts and the bowling and the arcade. We didn't get to any of that. I did notice that everything center-wide seemed to be working correctly and in good condition. The arcade had a lot of fun games that I'll totally dominate the next time I come through town. One last shout out goes to Ashley, the employee at the counter who served us up our clubs and balls. She's a friendly girl who did her job well and with a sense of humor. I like her. Keep ahold of that one. read more

Honestly, a bad experience. I bought one beer and mozzarella sticks and I finished my beer after having a few mozzarella sticks. I went back to buy another and I was told I was told, "I should finish my food first". Which, I thought was very odd. I went back after finishing my food and then as I was walking up he looked at me and shook his head. I proceeded to walk towards him and he said, " you can only have one beer per hour". Which, honestly that sounded strange. I've never heard of that. Then as my friends and I continued to bowl, the three people up front stood there and stared at up while we bowled and were laughing. Dear Sun Mountain employee, Thanks so much for ruining my kids' first day of summer vacation. First we walked in to find that most of the games had been removed "but more will be arriving soon". Not that it was your fault personally, but then you just had to add insult to injury. You informed us that they ALSO could not drive the go karts. They have driven go karts at Sun Mountain many times before. Every time they are measured to ensure that they met the height requirement. But you made a big deal about measuring them, while pushing them on the shoulder so forcefully that they were forced to bend their knees, and then stating that they can't drive. When we politely pointed out that they had been allowed to drive before, you were rude and refused to serve us. So we left, without spending any money at Sun Mountain Fun Center. We had been planning to buy food, buy game tokens, and make at least one run on the go kart track. We would probably have spent nearly a hundred bucks there tonight. Instead, my kids rode home with tears silently streaming down their cheeks. Luckily, they are smart enough to know that YOU are to blame and not me. They are so angry at your rudeness and lack of customer service that they do not wish to return to Sun Mountain anytime soon. Hopefully soon your manager will see that your customer un-service skills are driving families away from their establishment. Because if I ever see your face there again, my response will be to walk out. There was no reason to address my family as rudely as you treated mine tonight. read more

If you like to get ripped off go to this place!!!! It was the worst place to take our children. First, we were not greeted but over seen at the shoe rentals, I could understand if it was busy but only 3 lanes full... uhmmm ok!! second, the place looked ran down! third, the games would tell you that you won then give no tickets!!! most of them were closed down. fourth, the bowling lanes were soooo old and warped, only gave half the pins, and skipped players, the balls had massive chips in them; when ever my kids rolled them down the lane they made a thud sound and never made it all the way,. the hols on the bowling balls for your fingers are not sized for any one with average size hands!... LAME! so I paid $$70.00. for one game 2 lanes for 45 min. with 4 adults, 4 teens, 2 children and couldn't tell who was winning. (It would of been worth it if we could actually play on a decent bowling ally) fifth, the prize were the cheapest toys ever; my kids picked out one of the 300 ticket toys and before we picked out the second toy the toy broke! a second later my other child had the same toy it also broke! and we didn't even leave the counter... Amazing! Sixth, the employees were extremely rude! unhelpful and useless! where did you get majority of your employees, the JUVENILE HALL CENTER! over priced would be a understatement; please close this ungodly place down or remodel this H$ll hole. I will never come back, to bad I just got my taxes and really wanted to treat my family out in this rescission and all I got was a Major let down. I guess the next place I spend my hard earned money ill do it at a deserving place. I just hope that this place don't rob you of a wonderful night out with your family... Pick wisely... read more
