It is more of a gentleman's agreement that can only be enforce by suing the other party. That means that in case of your spouse not wanting to honor any agreement, reached through independent mediation, you will have to engage a lawyer anyway. My recommendation is to skip companies like this, and contact a lawyer anyway. There is a high likelihood of you will have to get one anyway. If you still want mediation, again, go through a lawyer. Now, in the case of this company, my only observation is that they way the few sessions my wife and I had, were not very professional. We had 3 before they were stopped and that cost me a total of about $2600. The outcome was nothing. It was basically $2600 wasted. I know that the business will say that I was my fault and that I am a bully, etc. but in reality, the process that was followed simply failed due to lack of professionalism. When two parties, that are in a highly contentious situation like a divorce, it simply doesn't make sense to have both parties in the same room to discuss how to split up their belongings and decide child custody. The only way to do this is to have separate sessions and in the end bring it together. Having two people in the same room, that has decided to split will never produce an agreement. Let alone one that can be enforce. My advice is to stay away from companies like this and get a lawyer. You will need one in the end anyway. Like Share
