I contacted David back in October, 2018. I should have realized that this wouldn't work out when it took him a week to return my phone call. He said he was very busy and wouldn't be able to come and install my wallpaper until January 3rd. That worked for me as the wallpaper I selected was on backorder and wasn't due to arrive until the end of December. I promptly sent him numerous photos, sketched a floor plan with exact measurements along with the manufacturer's specs. He said that based on the measurements and the specs that what I had ordered "was about right." Great! To his credit- he did text to confirm the install for January 3rd and 4th. I blocked out these two days visualizing my dining and powder rooms being transformed. Nope! He walked in - complained that he had to drive from Ballard (we live in West Seattle) took a look at my walls - took a look at the exact paperwork that I had sent him pics of two months ago and said - "you need two more rolls of this and one more roll of that - your walls have texture - I guess I should have asked you about that, but you're gonna need to get a drywall guy out here to smooth the walls." My reaction was -- you're the professional wallpaper guy! Aren't you supposed to do that??? It would have been nice to know this two months ago! Very disappointing. I got the impression that he really didn't want to do the job. What a waste of my time. My advice is to ask tons of questions!!! Obviously I should have! Now I have two free days - maybe I'll just repaint! read more

A friend hired David for wallpaper installation and I booked him without doing much other research--he did great work at her house. He had clever and affordable tricks for smoothing our somewhat textured walls with a liner paper before installing fancy wallpaper, which made it look much nicer and cost much less than skim-coating would have. He also took on some drywall repair I requested beyond his original quote and painted a bunch of annoying ceilings with perfect detail and no drips. Best of all, he was really easy to communicate with, he texts and replies to email quickly so the whole job was a piece of cake to set up (and he followed up when I dropped the ball). David painted the entire interior of our small house last year and he did an excellent job. Like you'd say in any good review for a painter, the quality was excellent, he was very clean, he worked on time and quietly, etc. David's bid for the job was in line price-wise with several other bids I got but I didn't go with the lowest bidder and chose David instead. He was more professional and trustworthy and he provided me with references and legitimate invoices. I am a woman and I work from home so I was going to be home alone in the house while the painting was being done. The fact that I felt comfortable with David made a huge difference to me. He didn't need to be supervised, I would go in my office and work all day and come out to a painted house like magic! I know David and saw his interior painting work at several homes of friends and then we hired him for a few projects and he did such a great job! He's incredibly efficient and skillful in his work. He even helped me with color selection and selection of brands of paint. I would trust him for any job and will hire him when I need more painting done. I think he gets a lot of repeat business because he does such a good job. I haven't used him for wallpaper but I know this is also a speciality and he also does light construction work so he can repair / install moldings, etc. He's insured and bonded, etc. and he's a career painter and loves what he does.
