David's is incredibly impersonal with pretty pushy sales people. Came here to help my friend look for a wedding dress and when we stepped in it was more like a department store than an intimate wedding dress shop. Appointments need to be made in advance and only last for 1.5 hrs. We were told only 6 dresses were allowed to be tried on otherwise it would be too confusing. Our personal shop assistant would push dresses on us, always seemed like she was in a rush and the bride wasn't even allowed to pick her last 3 dresses. Also she kept swinging the door wide open at random times without notice when my friend was standing in her underwear. Awkward. read more

David's Bridal made me feel so at ease at my first wedding dress shopping trip. I had no idea what to look for and they were able to pick out dresses for me. They made me feel amazing and I would definitely recommend them! read more

I ordered my wedding dress here - actually had a reasonable experience initially but on returning to collect my dress it was a totally different story. When I tried on the dress in the shop the length was perfect...in fact all the dress needed was a little more room 'up top' for the girls (lol). The assistant even said it would need virtually no alteration....but when I tried on my ordered dress it was massive...over 4 inches to long and almost falling down because it was so lose on me. When questioned the shop assistant didn't want to know...the store manager was even worse...actually said I'd probably put on weight so the dress did not fit...is this a standard line they spin because for the dress to be so big surely weight loss would have been the issue. They had my money as you buy the dress when ordering so they didn't care. they bundled the dress into a plastic bag and that was that!!!!! I have found a tailor in St Albans who will make the dress fit at a cost of £200 ish pounds. I have since found out the shop ordered the wrong size...a 16W not a standard 16 my daughter had a dress from here a year ago and was landed with an alterations bill of £650.00 I see a pattern forming here...if you get a dress from here include a good few pounds for alterations as they make a lot of money on this. Horrible to deal with as soon as a problem arises....be careful if you shop here. read more

To start with the Seamstress was really helpful however I have given them one star with the appalling way the manager dealt with us after the sale. I helped a friend pick a wedding dress and both of us had to take our cars due to work commitments. We weren't not informed by the staff there was a two hour parking limit. As you can imagine, a wedding dress takes a lot longer to buy. We both ended with £50 tickets. The managers was not very helpful when we asked for her help to get the tickets overturned. Not only was she condescending but she had got the sale at that point so did not care. I think customer care should extend beyond the purchase. If you want to go somewhere where you have to keep looking at your watch and know that once the sale is in the bag they won't really care then this is the place for you. read more

Such poor customer service, I had to email them the following.... From what I gather, I am sure this will fall on deaf ears, but for what it's worth, I am disgusted with the level of service you have given my fiancé with the purchase of her £1591 dress. Here is an outline of her experience: 1. She tried on three dresses and were given a price list on her first visit. When she returned to buy the dress, you demanded an additional £100. She complained at the time, and your staff were not interested. 2. The third time to collect the dress, you then wanted to charge her an extra £232 for amendments to the dress. She complained about this, and the manager gave a "good will gesture" of £100 off, once she provided evidence of the original £100 you charged her for. She had to contract me to find the pricelist and send it to her in store. I did not want to know the cost, but you left us no choice... thanks for that. Your staff were not at all interested in helping her bridesmaids find suitable dresses, they couldn't even find the correct size. 3. The fourth time she returned to collect her dress, you have the absolute cheek to charge her £5 for a bag to put it in. What kind of service is that? Shes just been overcharged for the £1591 dress and now you're scraping the barrel with an extra £5. When refusing to pay, you found the most screwed up, second hand looking bag you could find and "kindly" gave her that. read more
