I hate to see people complaining about a David's bridal, because you know what you're getting into when you choose to get a dress there. I didn't want to break the bank on a dress I'm going to wear for five hours, so I opted to go to DB knowing I wasn't going to get the same experience as a small shop. That being said, the lady who helped me was fantastic, showed me dresses I wanted and brought a couple different styles to try. It was a little cramped since someone had 15 people with her to try on dresses, I hold brought one person, but again it is a larger chain store and it didn't ruin my experience. I walked out of there 2hrs later with a a dress that made me cry and a veil for less than $500 dollars. I had a lovely day and didn't feel pressured. Rock on David's bridal, rock on. read more

Alterations were still a major fail. Management tried to fix things. They gave me tons of discounts. I thought the dress was finally tolerable, although still not right. They all acted like it was fine. I got home and decided to give it a little time to get the images of the crooked zippers, bulging side balls of fabric that had been sewn in by carelessness, lopsided cups, etc. out of my head. Just tried it on, and realized the zipper top is missing a piece for the hook and latch closure. And it seems there is a hole in the back too! Still looks crooked on one side too. Horrible dress. 1.5 months out from my wedding. I live 3.5 hours from David's Bridal, not sure what to do now. They've had at least 4 attempts to fix it. Each time things were wrong and they seemed to know "oh yeah the layers were caught up when they were sewing it, that's what giving it that effect"; "yeah the lace wasn't sewn on flat, so that's why it's like that". They would try to fix these things after I had already driven hours to pick it up. Did they not check their work? Did they know and they just hoped I wouldn't notice?! I am assuming that's what happened with this missing piece in the back, they had to have known, they zipped me into each time! Worst experience ever. My dress has been ruined. It doesn't even fit well, still too loose. At one one point the zipper was sewn wrong, and they told me I was bloated! They tried to tell me to wear a slip and steam it with regards to the ball of wrongfully sewn fabric.... Never ever go to this store. For $600 alterations, this should fit like a glove and be beautiful. It was a $900 dress that I might not even be able to wear. Discounts are great, but I'd rather not even wear this piece of junk now. I'd get a different one if I had time and money, but definitely NOT from there!!! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD AS A CONSUMER. My friend and I had taken our daughters in to buy them dresses for an upcoming event. My daughter was measured BY THE EMPLOYEE who said she was a size 4... The dress wouldn't even go on. I asked for her to grab some options in a bigger and I mean MUCH bigger size she brings more 4s and guarantees me this is the size she needs. As my kids is BEYOND embarrassed and feels shamed because this lady is telling her she's a 4 when CLEARLY she isn't. I go grab a 10 off the rack because this is how small the dress was. When I'm walking in with the 10 the employee tells me to make my daughter try on the 4 again and to come out of the dressing room so she can show me it's the right size. Coming out of the dressing room is going into an open room for everyone to see my daughter will NOT be coming out. I go in have her try the 10 on and it zips but still tight. I tell the employee this is a TEN how are your measurements so off. She's still persistent my kid must put the four on. I ask her to find the Dress in a 12 because she found the color and style she liked. She brings me the dress and it fits it's perfect, the dress is taken up front to purchase and prior to checking out I notice the dress has several snags on it and is is very poor condition for being a brand new $100 dress. I ask if there is another one in that size she tells me no but I can take 5% off. At that point we had spent 2 hours in this store feeling rushed, pressured, belittled, fat, shamed, embarrassed and we're ready to go. I told her it's not worth the money in the condition it's in, employee rolls her eyes and walks away. She goes to the register and is speaking with another employee looking at us OBVIOUSLY venting her frustration about us. Went to go speak with her and she completely ignored us we ended up leaving and never looked back. Would I have accepted defeat and ordered it online because it's what my kid wanted? Absolutely! But after the way we were treated I wouldn't recommend ANYONE purchase from David's Bridal and Shyla should not be in customer service. The entire time she hovered and over and over again asked if we were done. She told my daughter and I we were wrong and didn't know what we are talking about. Added a $130 belt that my daughter loves but I'm sorry I'm not purchasing cheap jewels on a ribbon that doesn't even wrap around fully for $130 at best it was worth $35. read more

My girls and I love this store! I have always be absolutely amazed that regardless the occasion David's Bridal always comes through. We have bought all of my girls' formals here for dances. I would highly recommend this location! We also bought my oldest wedding dress, my MOB dress and all 6 bridesmaids dresses here as well without any issues. Today was our fitting appointment and Margaret, the alterations manager was exceptional!!!!! She was kind and knowledgeable. She explained everything and made my daughter feel so important. I bought my wedding gown here. The consultant assigned to me was great, but the manager was watching us like a hawk the entire time. The consultant was helping me choose a dress that met my price range, but the manager was telling her to go for a more expensive dress. The manager kept egging me to get a dress that was 2 sizes too large... with all the alterations, I would have gone way over budget. I was not happy with this.. Also, alterations was extremely expensive compared to other places, but assumed that they know the dresses and would do a better job. Not the case. The hem was not the proper length and two of my bustle straps fell off right before i walked down the aisle!! For $200 worth of alterations, I think I deserved better. A bride does not need to worry about her dress falling apart on her wedding day. BTW: No returns/exchanges on anything so you better choose wisely! read more

I bought my prom dress from there about two years ago and have a bridesmaid dress on layaway right now. They werent very helpful while I was looking for my bridesmaid dress, but when I was browsing wedding dresses one of the girls helped me find the exact one i was looking for. Lowering their prices on some of their items, like $60 scalfs, would be nice but as far as wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses go the prices are pretty good! They were helpful with layaway but make sure if your part of the bridal party and the bride bought her dress from there that they give you i think $20 or 20% off your dress because they tried to scam me out of that one, which I knew i was entitled too. I would deffinately buy from there again. read more

Rudest ever! I came in with questions and before I could even get one out they said "go sign in please". Then wasn't informed at all where the prom dresses were and wasn't explained at all any deals or anything. When I went to go try on the dresses I did find I didn't know whether to have them open or walk in and when I was just standing there yet another lady asked if I was signed in and if I have a fitting room. Usually I have a good experience but I think they are pushing their system too much to the point that it's rude. If I clearly don't know the system please be helpful first and then get me situated. Had a wonderful experience with Cass!! We discussed what I was looking for, and she picked some great contenders for me before letting me look through their selection on my own. Cass took my measurements, then was quick to find the right size for the dresses we chose! Cass made me so comfortable between dresses, listened to what I liked and disliked, had great input on sashes and veils, and made the fitting a blast! We told her my budget right from the start and she never once tried to go above it or hound me into trying on a dress that was way above my limit. We brought in a list of dresses we wanted to try on and they had none of the five that were online. We specified that we wanted sleeves and she brought a strapless to try. For a store that specializes in all things wedding dresses, I was not impressed. The dress I got was the first one I tried on. The consultant was very helpful, and encouraged me to try on a couple others just in case. She was very happy when I picked the dress. Next, we talked about alterations. The dress almost fit me like a glove, it was just a little tight in the back. The woman from alterations, who is also the head of alterations, said that we should just order a new dress and take it in. We agreed, because we figured she probably knew best, and so I waited for my first fitting. When I got there, the lady who ordered the new dress for alterations said she had no idea why she did that, and said she would never ask that if the dress fit me so close. So she got a dress that was too small off of the rack, and took everything out. She promised it would fit, but it was very expensive. We came back a month later to try it on, and it was too tight! They took my measurements, and they were the same, and I had not gained any weight. So they had to do alterations all over again. I go back tomorrow to see if it fits, but I am not holding my breath. Here's my story: I woke up today and tried on a wedding dress I had made overseas. And I hated it so very much. I ended up walking into this store where Jen greeted me. Jen was sweet and she could immediately tell I was a distressed bride with a bad attitude and she wanted to fix that and she did just that with the help of Erin. I know I wasn't the usual bells and whistles bride but she had me giggling and talking through out my visit. Never rushed me, never made me feel like I wasn't her priority and when Erin came in to assist since Jen is the manager they both became very helpful hands in a very blindsided moment of my life. I found the dress I wanted and they let me try it on 3 times along with adding accessories and whatever else I needed to get my day right. All in all I tried on maybe 6-8 dresses and through it all Jen and Erin didn't skip a beat they were nice but also just joked with me about wedding fumbles. It turned what was a nightmare for me to a very lighthearted situation. I don't know how those women are able to "keep their camouflage on" so to speak when you have so many emotions and women in there all the time! But I appreciate what both of you did for me and my special day. Don't listen to the bad reviews I think people need to look at how they introduce themselves first before putting blame on customer service. My experience here was anything but good and happy. The only reason I'm even giving it a two star rating is because the receptionist was friendly, and I happened to find my dress, no thanks to the staff. So upon walking in with my scheduled appointment, everything was good. The reception lady was super friendly and relative. then she directed us to the staff person Chrissy, who we'd be working with. She right away tried taking me to, wedding dresses, I let her know again, no I'm traveling to another country having an impromptu ceremony and don't want anything fancy, so more a bridesmaids dress. I gave her the note I had wrote down with the dresses I liked online and the style #'s. She completely ignored those and said here look at what we have on these racks. Trying to push me to go fancier and over what I was looking to spend. So my friend and I got to looking. Found some and went to try on. We also found one of the dresses I was looking for from the website. But it was on clearance rack. No biggie to me, since like I said, impromptu, not wanting anything fancy. perfect. The lady took the dresses and said here is your room. Set us up. I tried on a few, wasn't liking them, tried the one I originally saw from the website and I loved it. I truly did, it was just a little tight in the hips. Chrissy happened to walk by the room and asked if we were at that moment. I said actually I was wondering if you had one size up on this. she immediately said no, you got that on clearance right? that's all we have but I'll check. Comes back 30 seconds later and tells my friend nope we don't have it. My friend says I'm going to go check. What do you know. She comes back with the size I was looking for. I also tried on several other dresses and needed change of sizes in some and thank goodness my friend was with me because after that I didn't see Chrissy again. My friend had to go get the different sizes herself and help me out. In the end I went with my original decision, the one I wanted to begin with. Even though the consultant obviously didn't want me to, cause ya know I wasn't spending a lot. Then after I was done and walking up to reception to let her know I wanted this dress, that's when Chrissy stopped us and said so did you find one. And finished out the sale. Technically she didn't even finish. She took me up to reception and said here she will get what you need. Had I not been on a time constraint, I would have ordered the dress myself online and been done with this store. read more

I just got my dress for my wedding on 8/29/16. The consultant that helped me was Jami and she did an AMAZING job. She took her time to listen to me about the things I did and did not like about the dresses until I found the ONE. I got engaged a year ago and couldn't wait to go find my perfect dress!! I went to the David's bridal in Topeka where I used to live and where my mom currently does live. I made my appointment and the girl had me pick three dresses. I tried on 2 and I thought that it was the one, with a few minor adjustments. I retried on the dress with the slip they told me went with it about a month later and realized it wasn't as flattering as I would of liked it. A piece of the fabric right above my boob kept folding over and they told me there was no way to fix it, I would have to tape it down. Then, I told them that I want a ballroom affect with the bottom portion of my dress, and I was told that the slip I purchased would make it happen. Instead, it proofed out to my knee and then went straight down to the ground. Not only did I start to resent my dress but when I took the two trips in there, I felt like cattle being pushed through the line. I understand they have other appointments, but girls shouldn't have to feel like this when they're picking out their wedding dress! I currently live in Wichita and so do some of my bridesmaids. A couple of us decided to go in and look at some dresses for them and the customer service here for their bridesmaids dresses was WAY better than what I received for my gown. I couldn't believe it. We didn't find exactly what I was looking for but they wrote down the dress numbers and colors for what I had in mind and measured both girls. (This was without making an appointment). A couple weeks later I decided to take another bridesmaid in with me to look at her dresses again. Also, without an appointment, they couldn't wait to help. While I was there, I saw this gorgeous bridal gown and just knew I was meant to be in that dress. I felt guilty for turning against the other one but Dani told me that I need my own perfect gown. So she helped me in the dress and I completely fell in love with this new dress. It was a little over a hundred dollars less than the original so I was told that if I bring my first dress back in before it went on clearance that I could exchange them and then get store credit for the remaining portion. They found my sash I purchased with my first dress and it went great with the new dress as well! Dani did my hair and put a clip in it with a veil and then had alterations come out to hem it and show me what it would look like to have it bustled. I felt like royalty the entire time. She offered to have my try on my original dress to make sure but I declined. She then had me show her a picture of my dress when I had everything on. She noticed that the flap could be fixed by alterations and that the slip they gave me was entirely the wrong slip!! Now came the fun part.. I had to tell my mom I wanted to switch dresses. A couple weeks after I went in to see Dani, I had to go back to Topeka to get my dress. And of course I had to go show my mom the second dress in person. So back to the dreaded Topeka location I went. I made an appointment and we went together. I found the new dress on the rack and they put me in a room. She went and got the "appropriate slip" and asked my bra size. Dani measured me as a 36D.. so why is it when I told her that she brings me a 34B!! I attempted to squish in and then asked her to get me the correct size. She came back with another 34B. I was extremely frustrated. So I told her I would just not wear a bra. As she helped me into the dress she asked why I wanted to switch, I told them the story but left out her stores terrible customer service and I got nothing but rude replies afterwards. After I showed my mom the new dress and she loved it, I went back in to change. She undid the clips and loosened the lace back and "nicely" asked me when I would bring the originally dress back in to switch. So I lied and told her later today so I got myself out of the dress and left immediately! In no way shape or form were they getting any commission off of me!! A couple days later I went back to see Dani, with an appointment specifically to see her. The manager was amazing both times and I hate to say that I forgot her name! She exchanged everything for me besides my sash that I wanted to keep. Dani had me try on my new dress again and went full out with everything for a second time!! She even took the time to tell me about how she was getting married this November and about her dress and kids and her soon to be husband. She was very professional and personable. Even the other girls that worked there would come around the corner and say how beautiful I looked in the dress. It was so sweet! She and the manager even apologized on behalf of the Topeka store for my awful experience I had. As much as I want to say I wish I had started at the Wichita store, I don't. Because if I did, I probably wouldn't have got to meet Dani and see just how amazing she is at her job! I recommend her to anyone in search of a dress! Truly amazed. read more

You will NOT love David's Bridal. The first time I went to pick out a dress the lady who helped us was very nice. The seamtress was not. My maid of honor pick out a dress she like but the seamstress thought she would look better in another dress. My maid of honor was keen on what she wanted but was dogged by the semsters to get another dress because of her "figure". Yes my maid of honor is a larger lady, but she was beautiful in what she pick out. The semsteress walked off after I told her sternly to lay off. Second visit was fine. Third, not so much. I had forgotten my slip and bra but didn't want to drive back 2.5 hours to get it. I though I can't be the first bride to of forgotten my stuff, plus I bought my slip and bra there, so they could help me out. However the alternations man was rather rude and quickly said nothing could be done so reschedule. So we where sent back to drive two and half hours home and come back for another appiontment. The last visit went well, until I learned the same man who sent us back for forgetting my stuff helped a lady get her a bra and slip to use because she forgot hers. The seamstress that did my alterantions was super awesome and the only reason I give this store any stars. The store is very small. People standing around waiting is a common site. Not suggested at all. Also, you may be getting a good deal on a dress, but alterations are a kick in the pants. A girl I know only got her bustle done and it was $200. Please try another place and NEVER resort to David's Bridal. read more

I'm 24, and a second time bride. I went in with a fairly specific, yet super vague idea. The young lady that helped myself and my bridesmaids was very fun and personal, and honest about the dresses. After a few hit and miss dresses, she turned me loose to the gowns. All the ladies jumped in to help in their best ability. I loved being here, loved the sales and the discount for my bridesmaids, and I even got a coupon! When you buy a dress through them, you get free size exchange. She listened to my financial restrictions, dress styles, fabric requests, and searched for the perfect dress. She didn't pressure me into a dress that I couldn't afford and every dress I tried on was within our budget. I didn't have time to complete the profile and Jackie didn't even hassle me once! The profiles are helpful but there's only so many hours in a day. She understood fashions, body types, financial guidelines, and answered all our questions without hesitation. Well Ladies...I have one that tops them all. Yesterday I went in to pick up daughters paid wedding dress from a few years ago. They had told me that they would keep the dress until I needed it for the wedding. I offered twice to pick it up. The last time I talked to them I said wanted to come and pick it up. They said they would box it up, but that there was no need to come and get it...they had plenty of room to store it. Today...I have no dress. One said it was marked abandoned and put at the warehouse, the other said it was cleaned and given to charity. I asked why I wasn't even called before they got rid of my dress...I haven't changed my phone number for over 10 years. It's just not their policy. What a bunch of crap. read more

Scheduled a last minute appointment for Saturday morning to look at dresses. We were received promptly and our assistant Hannah was with us within 15 minutes. I mean it's Saturday and it was as hectic as can be but Hannah made it all about my daughter. The dresses she picked were spotted on with what we said we wanted and the last one she tried was a bit outside of our original thoughts and turned out to be "The One". Not sure I believe the reasoning for the difference between the online pricing (has flaws in dress and you agree to take as is, which according to all the reviews worked out just perfect and oh what a price savings we could have gotten. However to review this location and their help we were very satisfied. Hannah was knowledgeable and really a gem. All of our needs were met with politeness, a good ear for our likes/dislikes, and utter professionalism. read more
