About a week later, I was told my chair was beyond repair. I picked it up and found a little shop called Broken Leg Furniture Repair. The owner is the repair man and he took it on. I feel like it's a store owned by rich people because they're bored and felt like they had to do something with their lives, and filled the store with stuff to sell other rich folks things that they don't really want or need because they're also bored and feel the need to shop. Like that. I think it's owned by a mother and daughter team (they were the two in the store, booking a hair appointment) that just picked out stuff they liked to display around the shop. At least the daughter said 'Hello' to me, I didn't get that at Le Labo, as I was COMPLETELY ignored because of my lack of flashy jewels, pearls, and the prerequisite "I'm-so-rich-I-sound-like-a-bored-valley-girl" accent. Some of it was cute if I had a home and wanted to decorate, but their 'too-good-for-customer-service' attitude turned me off. The jewellery looked all right, but not modern or clean, think heavy, ornate gold jewellery with fake gemstones that are over the top. They had a few (old) random cook books for decoration... and in general, it wasn't something I'd be interested in as a store as I don't decorate. Lovely throws however, in baby alpaca wool and cashmere, and priced around $250 - $300 which made me pet them, but back away. Can't say I'd want to step back in there because there's a general musty smell of bad, moist breath, although no body odour stench (my guess is that they don't air out the place enough and they talk A LOT to each other). What is WRONG with this area? It's like they're so rich, they have no idea how to open a door or a window once in a while to let fresh air in because the maid usually does it for them. (Kidding... sorta.)

This store usually brings a smile to my face because the products are fun, quirky, and even whimsical at times. Staff at this store are usually fun, too, in comparison to the alternate location in Toronto (which I have also reviewed). Furthermore, it is hard not to love this store when the entire stock is at least 50% off for the holidays. It was a delicious meal. The keema was flavourful and filling. This is a starter dish but made a complete meal for me. It was quite oily though. Don't forget to squeeze the lime into the Keema. Hours later, and I am still full. They also have me a complimentary snack, an Amuse Bouche, a crunchy kale based snack with tamarind and pomegranate. Quite good. They had tucked a napkin under the keema pot. It's good to wipe your hands on a paper napkin while eating with your hands. The place itself has a relaxed nice vibe. The decor is pretty. I sat in the window enjoying the view. Service was friendly. They are keen and welcoming. The mocktail menu looks interesting. Prices are similar to other places in the vicinity. A wonderful experience…read more I live out in the suburbs close to one of DeSerres competitors, so I don't make it into one of their stores often. The times I do, I have my art-obessed daughter in tow, and it makes for a pricey trip. I recently started a new job down the street from this store, so I was able to drop in sans daughter - my my wallet thanked me. What I like about DeSerres as a whole is it is much more art-focuses as opposed to their major competitor who is arts and craft focused. After browsing around taking in the store, I started to look for the products that I had actually gone there for. I was then approached by a lady working there who promptly showed me where both of the things I was looking for were located (Shrinky Dinks plastic sheets & epoxy putty.) I then checked out and had pleasant conversation with the person working the front desk. When people in retail enjoy what they are doing it comes across in their interactions and I defeinitely loved the experience. Will repeat when I can!
