I could just edit my original review, but Doug is so awesome he deserves an update…read more So, better half took in the watches (check out my review for Heritage Auctions if you want to know why I'm blowing up so many jeweler's phones lately) and Doug was a delight. As per usual, I also had to talk to Doug on the phone (because of course I did) but he is ever patient and knowledgeable. So far, Doug has: 1. Replaced a watch strap on a fixed bar, odd sized watch. 2. Looked at and assessed another watch (it has a bad mechanism) and will get that repaired for a reasonable price shortly. Is serving and replacing the crystal on yet ANOTHER watch that better half managed to drop (and shatter the crystal on) in a mere 24 hours. Got a new watch strap going on that one, too. Look, I'm sure Doug watches us pull up and sees dollar signs, but they're not exorbitant dollar signs and for what we need--a competent, knowledgeable, watch specialist--this joint is ace. I called and went in person, why didn't they CALL me if it could not be repaired. BUT IF YOU READ YOUR RECEIPT....it clearly states after 30 days, it's considered ABANDONED...mmm wondering if they thought a $4,000 appraised watch would be forgotten. BEWARE...read your receipt and call to check on any item left there. I took my watch back with me and now it NEVER ticks even a little
