I initially worked with Eric Davidson over the phone and then met twice with Steven Davidson along with my wife. Our State Farm agent (who also happened to be our neighbor) referred us to Davidson Estate Law 10 years ago when we decided to draft a Living Trust. Steve did an excellent job walkthrough us through the process and produce a binder that started with a clear visualization of how the trust works based on the different stage of the trustees' lives and how trust funds get distributed to the beneficiaries. Steve also made it very easy to fund the trust to targeted asset accounts. A few years ago during Covid, we wanted to update our trust to reflect our latest situation. A very dear friend of mine asked me to help him find a good honest attorney to help him sort out some legal issues with his estate. I started asking around and most of my friends said they didn't feel that their estate attorneys gave them good service and most had problems getting their phone calls returned in a reasonable timeframe. It often took several days to get a call returned and this has them very concerned especially if they had an emergency. I thought this was one thing that my friend and I should make a priority when finding someone. In any case, nobody felt comfortable recommending their estate attorney. After calling my insurance agent at State Farm (who I really trust) he recommended Steven. He said Steven helped him with his estate planning and highly recommended him. I was told Steven had a office in Santa Clara area but after calling, I was told he no longer had an office in the area and that I would need to go all the way up to Oakland. We were hesitant at first, but then I thought why not? I had a son at CAL and it gave me a chance to see him afterwards. So I offered to drive my friend up to Oakland. I called Steven and his wife Joelle who works with him called me back immediately. She was outstanding! She explained everything in great detail and emailed me the documents that my friend needed to have prepared before the meeting. Her follow up was fast! After meeting with Steven, my friend and I were very impressed with Steven's attention to detail. He educated us on the process and we all felt he was the right guy for the job. Because of my friends situation, Steven suggested that we seek an additional review. This showed me that he really cared about doing an ethical job, protecting my friend, and being thorough. So in short, I think Steven is one of the best attorneys I have met and I really like how he is very attentive during the process.
