Went here with a friend and had no idea what to expect as it was my first time at a cigar shop/lounge. The manager was really helpful and friendly. I was really impressed by the walk in humidor! The friend I was with is a cigar smoker who knows his stuff so he showed me around and picked out the perfect cigar for me. We went into the lounge which was quite welcoming. The chairs are super comfy! They have a tv and a spot where you can charge your phone, very nice. There are also lockers that the regulars keep their things in. Went there on a cold night and the guy that was supposed to be running the front desk comes from the back after literally sitting in one of the chairs and tells me and my buddy there's no chairs left. So, basically you're kicking us out because you want to shoot the sh1t with your FAVORITES? That's NOT how you treat customers. I won't be going to Davidus again if that's their idea of customer service. Why did they have to shut don't Civil lounge? Now they knew how to appreciate customers. I'd give this place ZERO stars if I could. They wouldn't allow me to pay a cutting fee in order to bring in my own cigar. The non Cuban market is terrible, I'm not a fan. The establishment itself is poorly kept and they hardly know anything about the cigars. Avoid at all costs, this place is terrible. read more

I've visited several other Davidus Cigar locations in the area: Gaithersburg and Rockville Pike and this is by far their best location. As a pipe smoker, I was impressed with their selection of pipes and blends. The smoking lounge is second-to-none. It's very spacious and has a large and loyal local group of customers, great company and conversation. Their prices are competitive for a local brick and mortar (and to be expected) but they do carry harder to get blends such as Esoterica. If you're in the greater D.C. Metro area, it's worth the drive and check it out. The staff is knowledgeable and great to talk with. PSA: They do provide a military/veteran discount. Stopped in recently for a single cigar. Young guy with jeans rolled up and pegged beyond his ankle and Brown loafers on thought he was so high and mighty I will never return. I said I was unknowledgeable about cigars and he scoffed at everything I said. Great selection but horrible customer service. Will not return and will tell people to avoid. I often visited this place for the purpose to enjoy their nice selections of Arturo Fuentes and Padrons. They have awesome selections! Sometimes I bring my own cigar that I buy from another country but I always buy a cigar from that store to show the courtesy to use their beautiful and comfortable lounge. It has a very nice calming atmosphere that is very conductive for smoking with a friend or two. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I feel very welcome whenever I come. The competitor nearby is just too bright in lights, too many TVs. That competitor place don't not enough cigar and accessory selections. Too many smokers there. It's always better to enjoy a cigar with fewest smokers possible. This is the purpose of smoking a fine cigar by yourself or with a friend. Less auditory and visual noises. It looks like an old world den with one tv. You can bring your own drinks. It has a very clean bathroom. read more

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. The place is clean and the staff is both helpful and knowledgeable. I regularly drive from West Virginia to Frederick just for this shop. I love the "house" brands especially the Hobson selections. read more

This is easily the best cigar lounge I've found, and I've been to a lot. The ventilation is great, there is plenty of room and the culture of this lounge is like coming home to friends. Everyone greets each other even when it's your first time in the lounge. Their humidifier is well stocked with a great array of cigars. Truly something for everyone here and the staff are always on hand to help with advice or to help you break out of that "same cigar" rut we can sometimes find ourselves in. This is a really nice place to buy and try good cigars. The prices are reasonable and the selection is very good. The staff are well educated in the tobacco arts and sciences. It's always a pleasure just talking to them and getting their take on a particular brand or a specific type of cigar. The walk-in humidor is among the best I've seen -- very well stocked, excellent temperature and humidity control. The aromas in that place are amazing. Paradise should smell so sweet! The smoking lounge is comfortably furnished with overstuffed leather couches and easy chairs, a large screen HD television, plenty of ashtrays, and a fridge stocked with sodas and bottled water. It's a well ventilated lounge, too! If you're looking for a place to hang out with other people who share your love for great cigars, I wholeheartedly recommend Davidus. read more
