Staff was also super friendly and helpful :) There are a variety of rentals to choose from, not just surf boards. They have skim boards, paddle boards, bikes and even wet suits! All at a reasonable price. Me and my husband rented a skim board one day, which was $20 for 24hrs and a surf board the next, which was $25 for 24 hours. Inside the store you will find a variety of clothing, shoes, sandals, sunglasses, bags and my favorite....carver decks for all the long boarders out there. Private surf lessons are available, along with paddle board tours and lessons. Overall this a great place to check out whether you are a beginner or expert and looking for a good place to rent while on vacation. Also a nice place to visit if are in the market for some cute beachwear or a new set of flip flops!

I have been traveling the world for the pass two months as a final hoorah before I get a big job to help set me up for my schooling, little did I know that I would be low on money after my long journey around the world. I went up to the register to purchase a shirt, hat, and air freshener. $35 was taken out of my account which was all I had at the moment (which I had no idea). I asked the man helping me if he could cancel my purchase so I could keep my money, he had asked another employee what to do and she said the purchase would have to be finished since the card reader had taken the money and needed the other $13. The man called up staff to the register, and for the few minutes I was waiting, my cousin came up to see what was going on and finished the payment (which I am thankful for). I have worked retail before and I know that the purchase could easily have been cancelled. As happy as I am to have gotten to go to one of these stores, being able to have money in my account would have been a whole lot nicer.

Part of the funding came from the Tony Hawk Foundation I believe. It is well taken care of. I see people come in and swept up the place. Kids waxes the edges for easier gliding with their boards tricks. It's clean and the regular kids know the skateboard etiquette. Yes there is one. I saw a review about NOT having benches or places to sit. Actually there is one. Right by the big main gate. But my thing is, if you actually paid attention. These kids and grown adults are practicing their crafts. Not all can completely control where their skateboard lands. Therefore, if you're not paying attention. Or look down at your phone. You will get smack with one of those skateboards. Now whose fault will that be. Parents, there's nothing wrong with sitting in the car. Watch your kids from there. It's safer for you and more enjoyable for skateboarders because they don't feel like you are hovering over them too.

Although I was very seriously thinking on getting a new surf board, I held myself back and purchased a skim board for my granddaughter. Logan was great in assisting us in finding the right board. He was knowledgeable on the skim boards and sized up the right board to my granddaughters height and weight. I spent more than I wanted too , but getting a better skim board meant better success. She skim boarded on our last vacation together in the Outer Banks. She went out everyday and eventually learned how to skim board. My reasoning for getting her a good one. Back to Bert's , easy access to, plenty of parking, anything you want in surfing , skateboarding , swim wear, accessories and more are here. Great staff on hand and ready to engage in their surf adventures. Be sure to ask them . oh yes , I did buy a T- Shirt.
