Is it night or day? You'll never be able to tell once inside. That being said, I like that is library has a completely different floor for the ankle biters. Put them underground where they belong! I'm glad I don't have to shush them, they can just be kids. The librarians are pretty friendly and helpful. They offer many computers for internet use. They have DVDs, music CDs, current magazines and even a State Parks Pass you can check out. I also like the self check out, makes getting out of there a snap. If you can, sign up for email reminders and online access, it will improve your library life ten-fold! I love supporting the library system and they in turn enjoy my late-fee revenue (albeit a very forgiving grace period at this location.) READ!

She proceeded to read "Blueberries for Sal" in the driest, most unenthusiastic voice imaginable. It was like the reading of a eulogy. Seriously. No wonder there were only two other stragglers there besides us. When she was finished she got out a pile of papers for a craft. I have no idea what this was supposed to be (see photo). But I DO know that it has been photocopied 750,000 times since it was first made and it was faint and pixelated like an Atari game. Really, how hard can it be to find a perky, animated, woman to read stories once a week? And throw a little craft in there? Besides being the Land of Children, Utah also holds the title Land of Perky, Energetic, Women Who Love Kids. You've got to get yourself together, Davis County Public Library.

All of the levels and common areas had an abundance of space and tall ceilings! The stairs and elevators were close together and easy to navigate. The Children's Library on the downstairs level was adorable! It brandished childrens' artwork, play tables and many other fun ideas. We ventured through each level and then made our way to the rooftop which had a lot of seating and spectacular views of downtown SLC and its surroundings. The weather was perfect to stay up there and chat for an hour. We also visited the Library Bees- we didn't expect to find Langstroth hives inside a library. This is the coolest library I've been to in the US. If you love books and libraries this is a can't miss experience.

There's so much wonder and awe packed into those places and regardless of which library I visit, I feel the same feeling. I stopped by this one for an event-a community book club. How appropriate right?! We had a private reserved room for our discussion and could see the bookshelves through the glass wall. It was perfect! This library, as I'm sure many do, had a section for children, teens and adults. That makes it nice for people to browse age-appropriate books and maybe make some friends while they are here.
