Coming to write this review and seeing ALL the reviews were 5-stars is not a shock. We hired Davis Door Company to replace our garage door about 6 months ago. The ENTIRE process was a delight from the individuals in the office that made the appointment to the technicians that installed the garage door. They were 10-star service individuals. They were extremely kind, personable, professional, and efficient. The best part of the review is that this is the beginning!!! Fast forward to today (6-months-ish from when the brand-new door was installed). We had the perfect storm over the weekend where one teenager is leaving and shuts the garage, unsuspecting his teenage brother is in the process of backing out of the garage. Well, our garage door looked 9-months pregnant after the impact. Luckily no cars or teenagers were harmed in the making of the perfect storm. My wife called over the weekend to see if we'd be able to get on the schedule early this week. They called her immediately on Monday morning- letting her know Wednesday was the first available appointment, before my wife could say OK or darn it, the woman on the other line said, No- I'm going to have someone out today between 12-4. We received a message that 12pm that the technician was 20-minutes away!! When he arrived, he was EXTREMELY friendly and said Oh we can get this fixed right up. He also informed me he remembered putting our door in 6-months ago. He knew he could get the door back into working condition but still gave me a few options of what they can do if we don't like the look or function after it's up and running. It could not have been an hour later I hear a knock on the door that he was finished. He showed me the door inside & out, put the door up/down, and even offered to reprogram the keypad if I needed it. I'm not sure if you've made it this far into the story/review or not- but I will forever be a customer and advocate of Davis Door Company. I'll recommend them to anyone I can in their service area. My twenty year old electric garage door stopped working, so I called Davis Door two weeks ago. Chris, the repairman, tried several fixes--replacing some wiring, replacing the capacitor, and replacing the motor. Unfortunately, nothing resolved the issue. Chris advised me that I needed a new opener. I cringed as I asked what that would cost me. Imagine my surprise when he quoted me under five hundred dollars installed! Chris returned today, replaced my opener with a state-of-the-art system that has an exterior keypad, an app on my phone, and links to my car's system as well, and was cleaned up in just about forty-five minutes. My garage door wouldn't go down. I had to leave for work. Called Davis Door and spoke with Tina. She told me they had an opening tomorrow afternoon, but would have someone call if they got finished early. I'm sorry that I didn't get the young man's name. He called this afternoon and said he could be out in 25 minutes. He arrived as scheduled, even with road construction, fixed the door in record time and only charged a service call. I actually enjoyed dealing with this company! The phone was answered by a friendly and helpful woman who asked about my needs and scheduled me at the earliest possible date for a basic "check-up" and "tune-up". The service tech arrived on time. He examined everything and patiently showed me what he was going to do and explained why. I did not feel as though he were rushing to get on to the next job, but rather that he cared about my understanding and satisfaction. I basically just needed a hinge adjusted and a thorough lubrication of all springs and hinges. As a senior-age woman, I appreciate that a company does not try to sell me parts and services that I do not need. Plus, I appreciate being treated with respect.
