It is such a nice, quiet park in a country atmosphere with very friendly owners. Sites are well maintained and laundry facilities are exceptional. The bath houses are currently under construction. The owners are very conscientious about maintaining and improving the grounds and providing a tranquil, well kept campground for their renters. At first I was thrilled with the place. I was consulting with a tech company in the area and they…read morepointed me in the direction of Lake Falling Star. The owner, Kelly, got me set up and helped me get pulled in. I thought that was very nice. That evening Kelly walked by and saw me brushing my dog and commented that she didn't realize how big he was and I told her not to worry he'd lick someone to death before he'd hurt them and she huffed and just walked off muttering something about borrowing trouble while her unleashed dog pitched a fit. I couldn't even sit with a show trained retriever but her shepherd had the run of the place all day and night. A couple days later she came by and complained about the way I was parked. I mean she guided me in there, was she forgetting things? I even began to wonder if she was the same person that checked me in at that point. After that it was something every day. power cable on grass, water leaking , it was the A/C drainage. If she saw me I got a good chewing on about something else every time. it was always something that should not have even caused a concern but bothered her. Finally, I was sitting on my patio when a deputy pulled up with her following behind in a cart. She said she wanted to look in my trailer with the deputy. i declined as I had no idea what this was about. When I declined the deputy handed me a notice of eviction. He then informed me I had 24 hours to leave. I still did not know what I did. So, I handed the eviction back and said I refused the method of delivery, but would be gone in the morning. And just like that, I met another disturbed person in my life's journey. I never found out what she thought I was doing. I wasn't even sure if I had ever done anything questionable in that trailer.--NO... I was busy all the time with work and pretty much just came home, walked the dog and had a couple drinks before going to bed there at night. Strange! Of course I would never go back even if it has been a few years. Beware, not all is as it appears at that park. I have heard a lot of stories since sharing mine. Some are downright bizarre.

We were there from August 29th - September 4th. We stayed in the Conductor's Cottage again. Everything went perfectly. The cottage was very clean. In fact, I have a very bad dust allergy, but my allergy symptoms never occurred while staying here which is saying something! The water pressure was great, and I loved that there's always extra toilet paper available in the cottage in case we need some. I love that the cottage has plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery since my husband and I didn't go out to eat except once while we were there. We didn't need to go out since Tiffany makes a big and delicious breakfast every morning. Seriously, the woman should be a chef as well. She's so good with breakfast, and it's always the best breakfast I've had. Tiffany also did a fantastic job at making me a breakfast that I could have with my many dietary needs. With breakfast, it's like a family style thing where you all sit at one table to eat. There is the option of having breakfast delivered to your room if you'd rather not eat with others. Tiffany (the owner) is super nice, and she always would ask us if we needed anything for our room every morning. She makes you feel so welcome and like part of the family. This girl would give you the shirt off of her back if you needed it. Seriously, Tiffany is such a great human. The bed was super comfy and the AC gets pretty cold. It's a mini split, but it definitely got the room cold quickly despite the Texas heat. In fact, I even had to turn up the AC to 80 many times because I would get so cold! There are trains that go by many times throughout the day and night as the railroad tracks are near the Katy House. However, there are earplugs in the room if you don't like the noise. I find it soothing though. It's very close to a bar (Huebel's), but the bar stays very quiet even on a weekend, so no worries about bar noise or even the noise from people coming out of the bar. The B&B is a block away from Main Street so there are a few restaurants and shops within a very short walking distance. Speaking of walking, my husband and I would walk/run about five miles every night we were there. All the streets we ran/walked seemed safe. We never encountered anything bad. Tiffany even gave us some pointers about where to walk to to get out in nature away from the hustle and bustle of the town. (Although the locals are very nice.) Minnie (a member of staff) was also really nice when we would see her. She would always smile and say hello. She's also a sweetheart. While we were there, we got to see a couple of squirrels close up. The squirrels love jumping from tree to tree around the area. Parking is plentiful. It's all street parking around the property, but it's all very safe to park around the building. The tv is a smart tv, so there were plenty of streaming options and services to sign in to. However, if you don't do streaming services, there was still channels available you could watch without signing into anything. Be sure to stay at the Katy House if you've ever wanted to experience Heaven on Earth. I'm convinced Tiffany is an angel here on Earth! Pretty sure that when you stay at the Katy House, you actually get transported to Heaven. Definitely stay here, and you'll see what I mean. You'll want to keep coming back!

The room was very elegant and the amenities and personal touches were very thoughtful. I am a candy lover and I am sorry to say, I almost emptied of their candy trays. The breakfast was very good and prepared by the owners husband who is a chef by trade. We travel a lot and I can honestly say Katy House is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed. If you have a chance, check out th Hueble Biergarten, which is right across the street. It's a local bar with friendly patrons.

The Ranch provides multiple ammenities: Fishing Pond, Shower rooms, Mail Recieving, Entertainment Center. They also provide other things at an additional cost: Laundry, Storage, Hosting Events. I'd say the only downside is there's no real order there. There's, apparently, something always wrong with their books, and the staff doesn't provide a method for tenants to know what all the ranch provides. The entertainment room looks to be used more for personal use of the ranch rather then open for all tenants. Although it's "Free to use" theres code locks and it doesnt really scream "come on in" Despite some very fixable flaws, OVERALL I'd still highly recommend you pull on through and experience the Ranch!! Dont be afraid to ask a lot of questions!!

When we stayed (late Jan. of 2023), it was raining and because some of the sites can be on grass (like ours) you can sink in. We thought we would be fine, but when we got up in the morning to leave our tires could not gain traction. Luckily, we carry boards, and we were able to use them to get the coach moving and get out of the park. Our rig does weigh in at 44K Lbs. as we have a 45' Diesel pusher. Park is great for 5th wheels and travels trailers, but maybe not for big rigs. We will most likely not stay here again.
