Okay. You know how you've stayed at a B&B and you feel like you're at your grandmas house? And if you come home late you're going to get in trouble? Weird, huh? Not this place. You feel comfortable and welcomed immediately upon arrival. We've stayed in A LOT of B&Bs. This is hands down the cleanest, nicest one we've stayed in. SPOTLESS CLEAN. Smells good. Not damp or dusty like some places. The hotel has been redone and the integrity is honored here. We stayed in the Tauch Room upstairs. It is beautiful. The room is spacious with a seating area, wardrobe, robes, TV and nice bathroom and shower. The bathroom was spotless! The bed linens were amazing. I took a pic of the labels bc I'm going to order them for our home. The bed was comfy and the pillows were great too. It had a warm heater and it was cold outside. I highly recommend the Ollie hotel. The ladies who greeted us were friendly and helpful. Parking is easy. And the hotel is quiet. You will rest well here. And breakfast at Darlin's Diner is not to be missed. It's a short walk and is included in your stay. I hesitated to give an honest review here bc I don't want it to be packed and full when we return! it's a really lovely hotel! read more

My mother and I had the pleasure of having a girls trip to the Olle Hotel while in town for a wedding. I researched places to stay and was smitten by the historical charm of the Olle. The owner of the hotel, Heather, was very communicative and accommodating before and during our arrival. When we first arrived we were blown away by the cleanliness and attention-to-detail of the place, Heather clearly works very hard to make perfection the standard. The room was ever-so comfortable. After coming back late from the wedding, it felt wonderful to rest in a soft bed with fresh sheets and snuggly pillows. In the morning, guests have an assortment of Kurig coffees to from (the common room fridge was also stocked with soda, juice and water for guests). Upon check-out, Heather gave us a discount voucher for Darlin' Cafe, a cute and tasty local spot walking distance from the hotel. When it was time to go, we regretted not booking an extra night because we so enjoyed our stay but we are already trying to plan our return in the future! Additionally, as we were leaving, we spotted an ENORMOUS binder of papers, letters, newspaper clippings and photos cataloging the history of The Olle Hotel and I want to return just to sit and look through that since I didn't have the time to do so during this last visit! I must end this review once again applauding Heather for the incredible work and gracious intention that she pours into operating and caring for this very special, historical hotel. This really is a fabulous place. We got the historic "water room" and bathing room. It's a very quiet setting. The owner is a doll although I spoke only on the phone. We were in passing the whole time. The a/c was good and cold. The layout is comfortable. It's really not a place for children AT ALL. This is an adult only establishment because all the rooms are 100% audible to each other. We could hear the next room noises. We could hear people upstairs. This wasn't bad though so don't take it like that. Imagine family coming together under one roof and you're just busy in your own room doing your own thing like watching TV and chitchat. It wasn't bad, it was quaint. If you're older, the beds have springs. My husband has bad shoulders and suffered. If we were younger there'd of been no issue but we are not young so, I'm not reducing the review for our physical ailments and shortcomings. I'd go back. Price was reasonable. read more

My man and I were riding in the MS-150 this weekend and chose this hotel to stay at due to its excellent reviews. And it didn't disappoint! It's a historical home, registered as such, converted into a cozy hotel complete with informational plaques about the history of parts of the home. The complimentary breakfast was better than any complimentary breakfast I've ever had anywhere. The smell alone could tempt the appetite of an epicure! And all breakfast drink preferences were catered to- juice, coffee, water, and hot tea packets were all provided with breakfast. Delightful vintage hotel with lots of history. Beautiful building in a darling small town-just a short drive to Round Top for Antiques Week. This hotel has the most comfortable lodging experience, being pampered each morning to a delicious breakfast of homemade casseroles, quiche, fresh fruits, and locally baked kolaches/pastries. And not to forget the wonderful coffees, hot teas, and juices offered. Our stay was so restful and cozy, a darling retreat from our days of vintage shopping/junking/and sight-seeing. Let me tell you about the hospitality of the Olle Hotel owners. My wife and I were in a rented E150 van with my 10 year old son on a team trip to Mesa Arizona when my son got very sick. Not wanting to put our kid through a 16 hour drive in a crowded van, not to mention him maybe getting others sick we had the team drop us off in Flatonia TX at a Best Western Problem: Best Western is booked and the van is long gone #stranded Solution: The owners of Olle came and picked us up AFTER MIDNIGHT, and gave us a place to stay. #saved It was a pleasant accident for sure. If you like Hallmark shows as my wife does, you will love this place. The charm and coziness is fantastic. It was beautiful, clean, and great breakfast. So being in the town of Flatonia, population 1,300 there was no Uber or Taxi service. So guess what. The owners took us 45 miles to the nearest car rental!! Yes left a big tip but they never asked for anything. They just did it out of kindness Also, the owners are retired Air Force. You want to do business with people that served our country, have genuine hospitality, and a place out of a Hallmark movie, stay here. I'd give 6 stars if Yelp let me read more

A delightful, happy, delicious, destination. We stayed here in late June 2018 for about 5 days and enjoyed this wonderful B&B thoroughly. My son and I stayed in the Wagner House so that we had a kitchen and two very comfortable bedrooms. What a great decision that was! The photos of both the main house and the Wagner House do not do this place justice. It is amazing. Every detail is met, the decor, comfort, hospitality, and the warmest of welcomes. Our scratch made breakfasts were lovely. Our host, Ms. Katherine is an unbelievable baker. I just happened to notice a very small framed article on the wall of her dining room that described a baking competition in recent years that Ms. Katherine entered and won the Grand Prize with her award winning Pecan Pie which was auctioned off for a mere $7,000! Well, I did not get to taste that Pecan Pie, but I did get to indulge in her many delights each morning. Her quiche, breakfast enchiladas, savory breakfast casserole, hand-made danishes, and the like were scrumptious! There were plenty of help yourself all-day-long coffee, teas, and juices if you felt thirsty. My sister stayed in the main house and we three had a midnight ghost hunt one evening when she was the only occupant in the main home. It was fun! No ghosts though....darn. The Wagner House is a duplex shared with a sweet lady who was a lovely neighbor and offered cans of fancy feast to my teenage son who wanted to make friends with the few sweet cats that live on (not in) the property. She was a doll, thanks neighbor! Apparently, they have rescued some unwanted strays, spayed, neutered, health-checked them and now they lounge around here and there. It was very sweet. My son is a true animal lover and he was like the Pied Piper to them. There are a few good restaurants near by, all which Ms. Katherine will gladly advise you about, but one night I made a delicious dinner made from ingredients I bought from a delightful nearby market thoughtfully named "The Market", that my sweet neighbor advised me of. We also visited an interesting museum near The Market which was curated beautifully and it was very enjoyable. We saw one of the painted lady churches, and had a wonderful tour of the Shiner Brewery in nearby Shiner. I always do my research thoroughly before traveling anywhere and I am glad I did. Our stay in Flatonia was perfection. We will be returning next summer to this wonderful inn. Thanks Olle Hotel. read more

A wonderful place to stay. As the other reviewers say it's very homey, and oh so classy. I'm sorry we only had one night to stay. We stayed in the Tauch room. There is a balcony to sit outside on, not adjacent to the room but nearby. We were visited by one of the owners cats while sitting outside which made us feel even more at home. The breakfast Katherine fixes in the morning is fabulous, and served on beautiful china with historic silverware. You will feel relaxed and transported back in time here, it's great! read more

We stayed two nights at the Olle Hotel in Flatonia, TX, and it was a wonderful experience. The owners and assistant were all very friendly and helpful. This was the first time we had ever stayed in a bed and breakfast type setting, and I was nervous that it would be like staying in a house with strangers. Not the case. We came and went as we wanted, heard nothing from other guests in other rooms. The room itself was very comfortable: crisp linens, luxurious comforter, Dish TV, ceiling fan, bathroom in each room. For breakfast, we went to a small diner around the corner from the hotel, and it was delicious (we were given tickets at the hotel to use at the diner). We drove to smaller town during the day and visited the Arnim museum, railcar center, and other things in town. Just all in all a very relaxing, comfortable stay! read more

Having never stayed at a B&B,prior to this one. Having no way to comparing this B&B experience to any other B&B,however I can compare to our previous travels, and stays in typical hotels. To start out with,we didn't find any objectionable concerns with pricing. So, now that just leaves the stay it self. First of all, We found the environment to be very welcoming. Staff was very kind and courteous, place was very warm and homey! Deco was warm and comforting! Gives us a feeling as if this place was like a family home! We have never felt this kind of comfort staying in a hotel. This is the kind of place that becomes apart of your trip instead of just a place to stay. It was more of an experience than just a shelter! Ms. Katherine was more than a host, she had a way of injecting herself as a seemingly long time friend or family member!! Evidently this kind of comfort was contagious as her staff displayed the same characteristics! Our experience at the Olle Hotel has definitely swayed our opinion on how we should chose our lodging and future travels! Now again, I can't compare this B&B to others, but Ms. Katherine and her staff have really set the bar for us to be able to compare future B&B's! We have left a piece of hearts there for sure!! P.S. We just attended a family reunion in the Flatonia area and 4 of our families (from Waco, Dallas, Port Lavaca & Austin) stayed at the Olle Hotel overnight. We have stayed at the Olle 4 or 5 times over the past 10 years or so and have always enjoyed. Each stay gets better and better! Kathryn and her staff are amazing as they attend to all the details. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated and the beds and bedding are super comfortable. This morning we woke up to a fantastic breakfast- quiche, sausage, bacon, fruit, pastries, juices, etc. And the coffee was terrific. As stated earlier, they attend to every detail. And they are very friendly and welcoming. They even called us earlier in the day of check in to tell us we could check in early, and we did. After our reunion winded down at afternoons end we all went back to Olle and sat in the wonderful living room visiting while sipping wine. Later in the evening we walked one block to the Red Vault Bistro. What a wonderful dinner, desserts and superb wines. Fantastic to have both the Olle & Red Vault a short walk apart. After dinner we spent another hour or so in the Olle living room enjoying night caps. Then we all had a wonderful night sleep in the comfortable beds. Party Couple Loves The Olle Hotel!!! It was the middle of the night and Party Couple couldn't drive anymore. Party Couple hates staying at major chains when there are down home B&B's available. We found this place on Yelp............. and WOW!!!! We called and said we were on our way... The owner met us on the beautiful historic porch around 1am with a big smile! She had even warmed up our room so it was nice a toasty for us! The bed was HUGE and luxurious. As a matter of fact, EVERYTHING was luxurious! This was one of the most beautiful, well appointed, extravagant and carefully thought out B&B's the Party Couple has ever had the pleasure of staying with. You can tell the owners love their Hotel. Everything is perfect, from the decor, to the rich and plush bedding, all the way down to the deluxe embroidered hand and make-up towels. This Hotel is full of rich history and warm modern opulence. The Olle Hotel gives you a 5 star hand-made breakfast! We had omelets cooked to perfection with soft cheese and sweet ham. Delicious toast, fresh fruit, juice coffee and tea! Major chains give you re-heated frozen square food pellets and ketchup. Olle Hotel is the same price as the major chains.... You are crazy to pick a major chain over this gem! Staying in the Wagner House was one of the highlights of our trip to visit family in the Flatonia area. Not only is the house cute, well-cared-for, and comfortable, but the service that Kathryn and her staff provide at the Wagner House and the main hotel building is impeccable. Of particular note is the breakfast, which was homemade and always delicious. The breakfast quiche, in particular, was just astoundingly good. The wifi is top notch, the beds are extremely comfortable, the owner is very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast is awesome. The rooms are also very clean.
