I recently participated in a focus group held by Davis Research LLC (based in Southern California) in Walnut Creek. This was the first time I participated in a focus group so I didn't know what to expect. It was fun! The folks from Davis Research were friendly, professional and considerate, and I highly recommend participating if you have a chance. I received my promised payment as soon as the focus group session ended in case you are wondering about that. Also, the group met in a safe, well maintained office space close to BART, so that was another plus. Also, Davis delivered on its promise to provide sandwiches and refreshments. I had the good fortune of being selected for a two day research study concerning the automotive industry. I was hesitant at first because I really thought this was going to be a "vacation time share" type of deal, were they promise not to try to sell you anything - and then they spend an hour doing just that. To be fair, Davis Research stetted in the communication that there would be no attempts to sell products, so in the end, although hesitant about it - I attended. Glad I did! On Day 1 I went to the location (easy to get to and a very clean, safe location) and was greeted by a friendly staff, searched by a metal detector wand to make sure I had no electronics or cellular phone on me (as directed in the pre-screening process) and went inside to do my research study. Everything was easy and laid our perfectly and then 2 hours and 15 minutes later, and shocked that it was that long, I was done. It was exactly as long as they said it would be...best part, no bait & switch - no sales pressure, just research. It was pretty cool too - that is all I can say. On Day 2 I went to the Davis Research building, again a clean, safe and nice area. I was greeted by friendly people and invited inside for our Focus Group. Same deal, it was professional, well organized and fun - never was there any sales type of BS. I was more than fairly compensated for my time and I really enjoyed the topic of the research, the automative industry, because it applied to my family and I. I would recommend anyone who was selected to go ahead and do any market research with Davis Research - clearly a professional market research company from start to finish. read more

This study or invite came very randomly to me. I wondered why I was asked out of anybody in Orange county. Being a female I was a bit skeptical but rest assure I was treated with respect dealt with women measuring me and a very polite gentleman doing the actual research questions... If ever asked again I would definitely do it. When I first got an email from these people the first thing I thought was it was a scam. I was totally wrong. This company was legit. I was brought in to be apart of an automotive survey group and it was very professional. There were snacks and drinks since the study was going to take 2 hours. They are very upfront and tell you everything you need to know and the reason why they do what they do and I got paid! If given the opportunity, I would totally do another study! read more

Was fortunate enough to be asked to do an automotive survey. This wasn't a driving one, which I've done before at the same location, but an interactive classroom version. Check in was easy and they even provided light snacks and refreshments while you waited for it to begin. The moderator was great. He kept everyone engaged and had a good sense of humor as well. This is a REAL survey/research establishment and yes, they pay you what they said you'd get. I walked out feeling enlightened, educated and with a check in hand! I was approached by Davis Research to participate in an automotive study. I was initially skeptical - as they wanted me to fill up an online survey, then speak to someone, then (if qualified) attend an in person evaluation. I went ahead. They were very professional from start to finish, including keeping me updated on the schedule change for the in person evaluations well in advance so I could accommodate it in my schedule. Once I completed the evaluation, I also was offered to participate in a focus group, which I gladly obliged - given my positive experience with them overall. I would happily go again if they ask me to participate in another survey. 5*! read more

Do not use this company for your phone polling needs. They get numbers that are restricted and on no call lists and they call them after 8:30pm. I was told by one of their phone operators that this is standard procedure and that the company thinks that polling calls this late is acceptable. They will also hide call information to get you on the phone. I am sure there is a more reputable company that will respect its customers and it's polled population better than this one. I was appalled at the attitude of the individual I spoke with and am disappointed that companies have lost respect for people and their personal time and information. Please consider using a company that has better professional business practices. read more

I participated in a study with Davis Research about a month ago and it was a great experience experience!! It was super fun test driving brand new vehicles and getting paid while doing so!! I received a letter in the mail from them and I was a little skeptical at first because I thought it was too good to be true (or a possible scam) but that simply wasn't the case. They explained that they are not trying to sell anything and are more interested in our opinions on the vehicles. The group I was with was great too (both researchers and participants). This is not a scam or a sales pitch but a GENUINE opportunity to give feedback on new market initiatives. Hey, you get paid for it too. I was invited for an automotive focus research group. Small group of folks were interviewed, allowing sufficient time to consider and respond with a well thought out answer. They ensured everyone participated, by rotating who went first in answering a question. Asked for clarification or probed more without ever making any participant uncomfortable. I was contacted by Anthony for a on line focus group and was selected. The group was 90 minutes and was promised $125 for my time. There were many of us there from around the country. The checks were to arrive in 2 weeks. It has now been 40 days and the project manager, Chad Frostland, has not answered any of my emails. It's like he totally disappeared....... I was contacted by Davis Research LLC to partake in an auto opinion survey. The survey event was an interesting and exciting opportunity, and the compensation was very worthwhile. Everything from beginning to end was professional, easy to navigate, and pleasant. At the end, I was compensated as promised, and invited back to do a focus group regarding the same topic a few days later, in which I was also very generously compensated for my time. They provided food, snacks, and drinks for participants, the staff was extremely welcoming, and the focus group leader lead a great meeting and ensured we completed our talk right on time. Never was there an element of a sales pitch, our opinions were strictly for research purposes. I really hope Davis Research LLC contacts me in the future to participate in more events. read more

After being contacted by one of their poll takers re: California candidates, it quickly became clear that this polling was skewing all the questions to elicit positive responses for one candidate and negative responses for the other candidate. The unethical and manipulative polling being done here is without question, biased and fraudulent. read more

I was asked to participate in a research study for a car manufacturer. After some preliminary questions over the phone I was then asked if I would like to participate in an in-home survey instead as the company conducting the survey was interested in learning more about the lifestyle and environment of their survey participants. I was able to invite one or two friends. I thought that was a great idea as it saved me traveling to another location for that original group survey. The survey team was on time (early actually, and waiting outside our home as I took my dog for a walk to the front lawn) Mind you it was polar vortex week in Chicago so I chaperoned them inside right away. The visitors were very respectful of our home and we setup for the interview in our living room. Bill Davis had a camera man with him and three folks from the car company, and one of my friends showed up to join the survey as well. Then we got started with the interview and questions. All in all a great experience and we ended on time as promised. I did an initial lookup to make sure Davis Research was a legitimate business. Really enjoyed the survey. read more
