I have taken my mother several times to see Dr Gonzalez and have been very satisfied. As this is a specialist office, She takes the time to explain my moms progression with her kidney disease. She also educates as best she can re diet, due to time restraints. I have to wait in ALL Drs offices approx 45 min- 1 hr to be seen so when there is a delay here, I am ok with it. I also met Dr Cuellar one day when Dr Gonzalez was out on an emergency and was very pleased. He was just as passionate on our visit as Dr Gonzalez is. As this specialty will determine if my mom will start dialysis, I am very careful to listen to all instructions and concerns that the Drs say. I highly recommend this clinic as my moms illness has slowed down and I do not foresee dialysis any time soon!

Then if you need blood work figure it out and schedule it on your own. No phone number works and no one is available to assist you. They just say go on the app. Need an ultrasound? Figure it out schedule it yourself as well. Considering I'm not tech savvy it's definitely a learning curve. Also they have a policy no recording your own ultrasound so no memories to look back on or share with your family. Overall if you can avoid this place please do so.

I had been waiting several months to get in to see a pediatric and adolescent specialist. The communication was good and I was able to complete the check-in digitally and have our copay processed through their app. Upon arrival, I was still required to check in because I wanted to opt out of some of their clauses in the very extensive and all-inclusive Consent for Treatment form. To my dismay, their policy does not allow for the consent to be parsed. You either authorize consent for EVERYTHING as written, including things that are unrelated to the consultation, or you are not seen by the physician. That alone doesn't sit right with most patients, let alone a parent. Given that this is a teaching health system, there is a lot thrown in the consultation mix; including the fact that as a parent, I wasn't allowed in the room with my daughter during her physical exam or for the majority of the consultation between her and the medical student. Furthermore, I wasn't the only parent--other moms sat in a waiting room while their children were in with the physician and the medical student! Bottom line? We don't have a choice if we want our child to receive diagnostic health care from "one of six specialists in the country." With that, I have the phone number they gave me to the Legal Department. In the interim, they have me at a chokehold--either I get my daughter the care she needs with this "exceptional specialist" under ALL their terms, or go elsewhere.

I wish they were more welcoming but it is a hospital nonetheless. The nurses in the floor are so welcoming and nice! The care quality here from the nurses is one of the best I've seen in a Baptist hospital. They come in to check in her to make sure she is doing good. They check her belly to make sure the baby is okay and stays in for a bit longer.
