    Homemade Pork Rinds

Cool little place in a cool little town! Came in late on a Friday night just driving through town and decided to stop for a bite to eat. Everyone was friendly and our waitress offered menu recommendations as well. I went with the burger recommendation and it was delicious. A little hard/messy to eat but very flavorful. Fun surprise was the order of pork rinds that they brought to our table after we ordered drinks. According to signage, they are made in house and they were delicious! If you're driving through definitely a cool place to stop and grab some food.

I haven't given a review in a while, but this place warrants one andFirst they charge .50 cents for water which is not on the menu. Then we were charged $1 for onion rings when the menu gave us the choice between onion rings or fries. The waitress didn't feel it necessary to tell us of these charges before hand. The manager just said prices change. The waitress took the water charge off, but the manager refused to take the $1 charge off. The sad part is, had we been informed at the time of ordering about the $1 charge, we still would have ordered them; but these deceptive practices don't fly. These types of practices are getting more and more prevalent since 2020. We always check our bill carefully. Now the food. I had the "deep fried" hot dog with fries. The deep fried part apparently happens during prep time in the kitchen because the hot dog was cold. I ate it anyway because the dog itself was tasty and how much more if it was freshly deep fried. The fries seemed to be an afterthought because they were not fully cooked and still hard inside although they were hot just not left in long enough. Husband had the Philly cheesesteak with the overcharged onion rings. The onion rings were tasty but undercooked like the fries. The cheesesteak was just okay. The service was good except for the deception on the prices. because of this we took the $1 off the tip to reimburse ourselves. The server told us the menu says prices can change. In reviewing the menu, at the bottom on the back of the menu in a color obscuring the ability of your eyes to read it, reads: Prices subject to change without notice. Once ordered you are responsible for payment." How do you like that statement? Basically none of the prices are what they seem. Unreal. I can't recommend the place because of mediocre food and price deception. Be very aware. A lot of restaurants have taken up charging small extra charges for things without the customer's knowledge. It may seem minuscule in the amount, but think about how much money is stolen over the year with all these little "extra" charges.

Good burgers, good seasoned fries, good service, good tea, clean bathrooms. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend if going through Crockett!!

Food, service, and quality are all top-notch. This place doesn't pretend to be a fast food joint, and it's not. What is it then? Well, it's that country cafe you've yearned to find that has fresh, homemade food made from scratch. Bring an appetite, though, because the portions here are very generous. Obviously, from the photos, I ordered the small hamburger with onion rings. Yummy. I'll be back to try the chicken fried steak, but not today, lol.

The pork ribeye was superb. Very tender and flavorful. Not your grandmother's dried out pork. I would definitely order this again.

I really enjoy how Mimsy's thinks outside the box when it comes to their dishes. Thoughtful and creative sandwiches and what I like to call all in one items like loaded mac n cheese, loaded spuds, and the wedge salad that are less expensive than buying the meat and sides but filling none the less. This time I ordered the loaded mac n cheese with the smoked turkey. I swear, they have the creamiest and most delicious mac. I am almost always underwhelmed by mac n cheese. These are exceptional. I also ordered the jerk chicken leg quarter and it was so clean and delicious. I would definitely order that again. Hubby order the Smoked turkey sandwich with avocado, bacon and aioli and it looked magnificent and yes, he did offer me a bite. I had enough of my own food to eat. I will be back, Mimsy's!!!

I had to come leave a review for our experience at First Watch on I-45 in Conroe because WOW. From…read morethe moment we walked in, the hospitality was unmatched. I came in with my mom, nana, husband, and my service dog, and our server Makayla genuinely made this one of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time. What shocked me most is finding out she's actually pretty new, because she handled that busy brunch rush like a seasoned professional. She was incredibly attentive, kind, patient, and so thoughtful the entire time we were there. She made sure my family's coffee cups never went empty, constantly checked on us without hovering, and somehow managed to keep everything flowing smoothly even while the restaurant was packed. One thing that really stood out to me was how caring she was toward my service dog. Not everybody pays attention to those little details, but she did immediately. I ordered the Trio Breakfast with a plain waffle specifically for him, and without me even having to repeat myself, she made sure there was absolutely no butter or syrup on it because she remembered it was for my dog. That level of attentiveness meant a lot to me. Now let's talk about the MILLION DOLLAR POTATOES. Whoever created those deserves a raise immediately. As a pregnant woman in my first trimester, eating has honestly been a struggle lately because almost nothing sounds good or stays satisfying. Those potatoes were one of the first things in a while that actually made me excited to eat. They were savory, comforting, flavorful, and honestly addictive. I was so invested in those potatoes that I can barely even remember what the rest of my family ordered . I asked Makayla what was in them because I was genuinely blown away, and she took the time to explain everything to me so sweetly. She also made sure our food came out hot and quickly, and you could tell she truly cared about people having a good experience, not just "doing her job." I even asked to speak with her manager because excellent service deserves recognition. Aaron, the manager, was just as wonderful. You could tell he genuinely took pride in hearing positive feedback about Makayla, especially as a new hire. He thanked us for coming in, was extremely kind and informative, and honestly helped create such a welcoming atmosphere overall. I told my family I wish I could throw Makayla, Aaron, and the million dollar potatoes into my suitcase and bring them all back home to California with me . Unfortunately, there are no First Watch locations in California, which honestly feels criminal at this point. To Makayla and Aaron: thank you for making a pregnant woman, her family, and her service dog feel genuinely cared for. In a busy brunch restaurant, that level of hospitality is rare, and it absolutely did not go unnoticed. We will remember this experience for a very long time.
