My acupuncture experience with Dawit Assefa was exceptional. After nearly 10 months of trying to conceive with no luck, I decided to look into Fertility Acupuncture. I had always been on the fence on if the acupuncture process would actually help me. I know I wanted to keep my efforts to conceive as natural as possible. When visiting with my OGBYN, I was recommended to this practice. I made an appointment for the end of October 2020 and I am so glad I did. In preparation for the appointment, I was asked to fill out paperwork explaining my intentions through getting acupuncture and provide my medical records of my fertility tests. I came to see Dawit after my first round of IVF. My first round I had 2 embryos and neither resulted in a full term pregnancy. I came right after my last implantation and started coming regularly after that. After several months of sessions, plus taking a lot of his recommendations, I had a second retrieval with more than double the amount of recovered embryos and got pregnant after my first implantation. With my case my goals were to work on egg quality and I learned a lot along the way because Dawit has worked with so many women in similar situations. A lot of IVF is just doing what they tell you to do without really understanding why. Dawit helped me understand everything I just accepted the first time and helped me understand how I could control the process by doing things on my own that could help my situation. I would highly recommend working with Dawit as a true partner in this really stressful and intense process. I recommend starting as soon as you start to even consider doing IVF. The more time you have the better. I can also say as someone who was highly scared of needles and have tried acupuncture before he really helped me build up my confidence with needles and this process. I have seen Dawit as my acupuncturist off and on for 9 years. We were only ever off because I moved away for a bit and then he moved his practice, but now we are back together again and I couldn't be happier. Now, wherever Dawit goes, I will follow. I first started seeing Dawit to deal with my PCOS and to try to get pregnant. For 15 years, I never knew when I was getting a period and when I got them, they would be so heavy and I would feel so sick that I was incapacitated. And I never ovulated. Within 2 months, he regulated my periods, my periods were painless, and I actually ovulated. I got pregnant shortly after. I HIGHLY recommend Dawit if you're looking for fertility help through acupuncture. My husband and I decided to have me try acupuncture after actively trying to conceive for a year with no luck. My OBGYN ran several tests to check my fertility and everything came back normal. My husband did a semen analyst and his results were also normal. Being told we were both healthy and fertile made it even more frustrating that we weren't getting pregnant. My sister had success getting pregnant with acupuncture, so I figured it was worth a try. I found Dawit through a Google search. After reading some of his reviews and liking what I read, I set up an appointment in February 2020. After my consultation meeting with Dawit, we decided the best plan was to cleanse my uterus and work on balancing my stress level. After 4 or so sessions focusing on both of those issues, we began the fertility acupuncture sessions. I again did about 4 or so of these sessions and by June we got a positive pregnancy test. I can confidently say that Dawit played a huge part in helping us get pregnant. Dawit is a miracle worker -- that's actually the knick name my husband and I have for him. My husband first when to Dawit five years ago for back and leg pain that made it very difficult for him to walk. My husband had done cortisone shots in his spine and gotten some relief for them, but then the pain came back. After about a month of weekly treatments with Dawit, my husband's pain had eased significantly, and within a couple of months, he was able to get back to him normal life. After a few more weeks, he was completely pain free and has remained so for many years now, with just the occasional tune up. My husband also found relief with Dawit after a bad car accident resulted in neck pain for him. Dawit is an excellent licensed acupuncturist! I first started going to Dawit in 2008 after trying many, many other forms of therapy for a tight IT Band from running. I had been suffering for years from pain and nothing worked (yoga, physical therapy, cortisone shot, etc.). I finally gave acupuncture a try and thankfully it was with Dawit. He is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. Within just a couple of sessions I had finally felt immense relief after years of suffering. It was amazing. Now, I just need to go every once in a blue moon for maintenance and prevention of tightening my IT Band. When the time came to try and get pregnant I was a little anxious about the process. Dawit had told me that acupuncture could help in the process of fertility. I went to him for several sessions and low and behold was pregnant pretty early in the "trying" process. I first went to Dawit about 5 years ago for debilitating pain in my lower back and down my leg that made it hard for me to walk. I'd gone to Western doctors and done two rounds of cortisone shots in my spine, and they helped, but the pain kept coming back. Then a friend recommended I try acupuncture, so I went to see Dawit, and after just a couple of months of weekly treatments, I was back to normal -- no more pain and able to do all my usual activities. And the work he did stuck (no pun intended); he literally healed my back problem. Since then, I just go back to him for tune ups if/when I feel a tinge of pain in my back. I was referred to Dawit by a friend. I had been trying for a couple of years to have a child and had been unsuccessful. I had just ended infertility treatments -- to take a break from them for a while -- and decided to try acupuncture for the first time during this "break." I end up knowing Dawit after a horrible diagnosis of high fsh. The infertilty doctor that we were seeing (even though we went because of my husband's issue) was focused on destroying every piece of me trying to make us believe that our only option was IVF, and that I was almost infertile by 31 yo. SIMPLY THE BEST! I have been struggling with G.I. issues for almost a year, and after a long conversation with a friend of mine who suffered from IBS, I decided to give acupuncture a try as a last ditch effort before going on steroids (I have not been formally diagnosed but suffer IBS symptoms). GREAT FOR PCOS! I've been going to Dawit since April 2021 for fertility acupuncture treatments. He is friendly,calm , and VERY knowledgeable in what he does. My cycles used to be 45-50 days apart and now they come regularly each month (30-32 day cycles). When I started treatment, I had 38 follicles on my right ovary and 43 follicles on my left ovary . This caused painful ovarian cyst to form and burst several times. I recently had an ultrasound done and it shows that I now am in normal range for follicle counts as if I didn't have PCOS anymore!
