Since then (we're talking THREE DECADES-ish), I think I've only gone to the same hair person once. She started working out of her garage and I kinda noped out. So there's been this endless line of decades worth of haircuts that have failed to impress me. I've cut my OWN hair several times. My girlfriend is NOT A FAN of my cosmetological skills, or lack of same. I should rewind a bit. I have curly, sometimes frizzy, nasty hair. It has NEVER LOOKED RIGHT. I'd look at Patrick Dempsey, or Robb Stark, or Chalamet, and I'd say, "y'know what? I could look like that with the right combo of product." Nope. Thousands of dollars of products later, I have never achieved the look I was looking for, until today. Today I crossed paths with Amber Smith. Reportedly, she's the only one that does "guy hair" at Enlighten Salon. I told her my sad tale, she was very reassuring, and said "you'll see, you'll look great". And proceeded to give me (and I love my mom more than life itself) the best damn haircut I have ever received in damn near 50 years. She even taught me how to style it!! On top of that, my extensions were constantly falling out and even hurt my head. Thankfully, Brittany took me in and switched me over to the weft method. Since making the switch, my hair has felt amazing and looked even better. I get so many compliments on it, even at the gym when I'm sweaty and feel like I look crazy. Tall ... just leave it at that dude was tall.. nice guy, didnt talk much, but then again they are pretty focused on the job at hand. gave me a almost prefect cut, as he was shaving my side, he shaved my side burns right off.. all good, they grow back fast anyways. and when he did my beard my wife said it was off one side, but I still liked and felt good. You have to understand unless you get an instructor which i had once, but he was showing techines on my hair.. to students, so I doubt they do that often? My point is these are college kids/adults/people. They are there learning and growing doing something most of them love and have a real passion for. Give them a chance. Ashley Rose is like a hair magician!! I came in with half-assed ombre hair color and she made me into a sassy, balayage queen! I freakin love my hair so much. I got so many compliments at work and my hubby of course. She takes her time to make sure you leave feeling amazing. Her attention to detail is on point. My hair is super even and the color turned out beautifully. She helped me pick out the colors because I had chosen a picture with a light skinned model and clearly my skin color is opposite of that so we had to choose a tint that would work for me.
