I'm a long-story kinda guy, but bear with me; you might be entertained. My mom was a cosmetologist and she gave me every haircut I got until I was about 18. Since then (we're talking THREE DECADES-ish), I think I've only gone to the same hair person once. She started working out of her garage and I kinda noped out. So there's been this endless line of decades worth of haircuts that have failed to impress me. I've cut my OWN hair several times. My girlfriend is NOT A FAN of my cosmetological skills, or lack of same. I should rewind a bit. I have curly, sometimes frizzy, nasty hair. It has NEVER LOOKED RIGHT. I'd look at Patrick Dempsey, or Robb Stark, or Chalamet, and I'd say, "y'know what? I could look like that with the right combo of product." Nope. Thousands of dollars of products later, I have never achieved the look I was looking for, until today. Today I crossed paths with Amber Smith. Reportedly, she's the only one that does "guy hair" at Enlighten Salon. I told her my sad tale, she was very reassuring, and said "you'll see, you'll look great". And proceeded to give me (and I love my mom more than life itself) the best damn haircut I have ever received in damn near 50 years. She even taught me how to style it!! It took me YEARS to find a salon or stylist in Stockton -- growing up in socal it was always easy. But I am sooo glad my teammate referred me to Enlighten! I followed them on IG for a while before pulling the trigger and booking with Kayla she gets me with the head massages during the wash lol! Also her attention to detail and her honesty!! Hi, I just want to comment regarding the services I received yesterday ( Sept 12, 2024). I was there as a walk-in customer at around 3:15pm. Cinthia Rubio was attending another another client doing hair color. I was willing to wait since I only want a haircut. She also said, when it's time for the client to have a hair steam, she can start cutting my hair. The steam time she set was 45 min, so I thought my haircut would be finished by that time. Surprisingly, I can tell she is not skilled enough because she was very slow that after 45 min she only finished half of my hair. Then she has to attend her other client leaving me waiting. To cut my story short, she finished cutting my hair at 6pm. The way she cut my hair, the result is really terrible! I had a mid length hair and I showed her what I want it to be. She said my hair was kindda thick so she said she will do thinning, and I agreed, but the result is really awful and it looks I am sick of typhoid fever! She didn't even use a thinning scissor, she used the regular cutting scissor. The way she handles the comb and scissor was very awkward ( just to know she is not skilled enough to handle this kind of task). I would like to ask the owner, to check my hair and see what you can do because right now, the thinning Cinthia did, looks terrible. After she did my hair yesterday, I thought it was ok because she blowed dryed but then when I went home I just realized that its just not what it's suppose to be! So so dissapointed! I even showed her a sample photo of how I want it cut and the length, it seems it's really off. I don't expect to be exactly like in picture but at least cut it accordingly. Please I ask the owner of this establishment to help me and do a touch-up whatever you can do to make it look better because now I feel I was not given the right service when I even chose this salon because of the reviews! I also paid $60 plus tip for the services. read more

I found Sierra at Enlighten Salon when I was looking to find someone to fix my hair color. I had been going to another salon, and after going there several times, they never seemed to have my color on hand, leading them to mix colors, but it never turned out right. The color I wanted was a warm brownish red with blonde highlights. (Not too hard, right?) The last time I went in, I was weighing if I should go somewhere else but thought I would give them another shot. With the stylist being so busy with doing other people's hair on my time and having an assistant do some of my service, I felt like I had been forgotten. Because of this, I subsequently ended up with very blonde hair all on the top of my head. I could not live with this, so I went back in to have it fixed. I was there 5 hours just for a color correction because the stylist was so busy with other clients and the color I ended up with was now a bright copper orange in place of the blonde and it did match the rest of my hair (even though that still was not what I wanted), AND I was charged for it. As you can imagine, I did not want to go back there again, so I found Enlighten Salon online and made an appointment with Sierra. Naturally, I had some trepidation because of the last salon, but I was pleasantly surprised. She was very nice and set my mind at ease. After I went in and explained the situation, she seemed to know exactly what was needed to fix my orange hair. She had the product that was needed on hand, and it was much and less hectic than the other salon as I was her ONLY client during my appointment. She corrected the orange so I could get through Easter without being embarrassed. Sierra was nice to talk to, confident, and knowledgeable and I was done in an hour and 15 minutes. I was so pleased with her work, I will go back to her again and I feel confident that she will get me to the color that I want. I definitely would recommend. read more

I've gone with Veronica three times. The first time- my hair was a MESS. Ive never had a good experience with hairstylist so I was very skeptical. But after the first time, I knew that she made me feel comfortable. She educated me about proper hair care and color hair. She even gave me tips for my natural curly hair. She never judges you for whatever mess you made of your hair. Instead, she offers solutions. She also is great at conversations! I'm quite timid and have a lot of anxiety. But she knows how to read her clients and makes sure we have a great experience. I have finally settled down with having her as my hairstylist and I am looking forward to seeing her growth.
