I will not support this store and will continue to go to the Stockton one where the employees are always so friendly, helpful and gratuitous especially during returns for products that don't work for me. I agree with other reviews on here calling them bitches unfortunately as rude as that sounds. I decided to drive further to this location because the one in Stockton is often out of stock of things I'm looking for so I've resorted to the app but figured maybe this location would have things I could test out. After spending HUNDREDS of dollars on the app and deciding some colors just weren't for my skin tone I had a return of several items even though I kept a majority of my orders. The male employee gave off the biggest annoyed sighed when I said I had a return and asked multiple times if I was returning. Like how is it not clear when I said that... I even gave legitimate reasons of why for some of the items feeling like I needed to explain myself even when he didn't ask. The entire time he seemed so bothered and made passive aggressive comments to Lorena the cash register leader next to him including saying "returns are a waste of paper loud" enough for me to hear. If you care about the environment, find a more meaningful job. I've done my job at environmental non-profits and for 3 years didn't buy makeup because of the environmental waste it creates. While I wish I didn't have to return products I would still like my money back. I understand donating is another option which is what I've done in the past but in this case I just wanted to do a simple return. Lorena next to him with her judgmental eyes then proceeds to question, "you don't like any of those products?" I'm sorry... one of the lip glosses literally looked like poop on my lips, others irritated my skin or didn't even show up on my skin tone. Not my fault there are no testers of some of the specific products and I can't tell what products will look like me based on the website. Not only were those two unnecessarily rude and unpleasant but I observed other employees rolling their eyes at some customer and typing on their phone to gossip passing the phone back and forth like school children... actually more like bullies. Childish and unprofessional. SUPPORT THE STOCKTON STORE INSTEAD. Or shop the app and get more gift with purchases than shopping in-store. I've always had a good experience going to this place until yesterday. I went inside there and I don't recall the name of the employee, but it was not the person ringing me up. It was the person next to her that made a comment to me when one of their coworkers were saying, if somebody decides to steal one of the test perfume bottles to let them take it and then the woman who was not helping me said well since this guy heard it. Went in for a haircut and style. my stylist was changed because the other had left and they forgot to call me. I came for a trim up and left with my hair so uneven and hacked away that another stylist couldn't fix it unless I cut it off to pixie. this was medium length long front hairstyle. it will take six months to a year just to get the short jacked off pieces long enough for any style perhaps longer for my original style. Be warned and beware. and it cost money elsewhere just to get the hair where one side wasn't dramatically longer than the other! Also the one doing your hair could also be in charge of ear piercings, appointments, and calls also. So you will be left repeated sitting in a chair while they leave for several minutes to take care of other things. Truly the worst experience I have ever had at any salon. read more

I went to do an order pickup and went inside the store to pickup my items. I pulled up the barcode to show the employee but instead of scanning it, they asked for my ID. I went to fetch it in my purse and realized at that moment I had left it at home near my computer because I was dealing with health insurance items earlier. I told the employees I could show them my proof of purchase instead. The employees were accommodating and I showed them a digital version of my ID which they accepted and I confirmed my order items. Another employee behind the counter inserted herself in the conversation and gave me a hard time about not having my ID and how next time they won't allow it and how people can steal etc etc. Okay I get I don't have my ID but I DID offer the bar code scan that ULTA sent in my email that you could have easily verified on your end but refused to. It's one thing to require an ID but if you're not even going to scan the code to verify my purchase then what's the point of sending it to my email if you're just going to tell me I need my ID as well? Don't get me wrong, I love Ulta beauty. I get all of my skincare products solely from Ulta. They have an amazing skincare selection with some really great products. 10/10 selection. However, apart from their amazing products, I am disappointed from their customer service. There was this one instance where me and my boyfriend were going to Ulta for a pretty big haul. ( I was getting ready for homecoming, the girls will get it!!) we finished up pretty quick, as they where getting ready to close pretty soon. The girl at the cash register was quick and efficient (I'll give her that much), so we got out of there pretty quick which was nice. Fast forward, we get home and I'm looking through my stuff and realize I'm missing a product. Look everywhere for it and it's nowhere to be found, so my boyfriend and I head back with receipt in hand and get there just in time before they closed. We walk in and we're immediately greeted with," sorry but we're closed!". We start to explain our situation, I show them my receipt and they tell me to hold. Ok sure no problem. The employee who we had told our situation too, had brought over who I assumed was the manager, and she started to explain to us that they had to rewind the security footage to see if they had misplaced the item or if I actually did have it. Which is understandable, i get it. So they tell us to hang tight as they go look through the footage. I noticed the Girl at the cash register was the girl who had helped us. I saw her notice us while we were talking to the manager. keep in mind she recognized us. What I thought was going to take about 10-15 minutes, since we were just there, took about 45 minutes. Until the girl at the cash register, who had rung us up says, "Are you guys looking for a face wash?" I responded with a yes, and this potato with eyes says, " oh I think I must have left it to the side when I was ringing you guys up, is this the one you had?" As she proceeds to hold up the face wash we had came here for close to an hour ago. I take my stuff and leave. What a turnoff, Ulta. And on top of all that, most of there employees don't actually know what they're recommending and or selling to you. My advice is to go in with your own research, don't trust the employees. This Ulta is terrible. I have shopped here multiple times and every time I have experienced rude staff. You constantly feel like you're being watched and followed. Literally I could just be looking at a product and they pop from around a corner asking if you need help. Not in a friendly helpful way, in a suggestive tone. Secondly, I booked a hair cut three different times and it was cancelled by them the day of every time. The first time I booked it weeks in advance, get a call an hour before the appointment time that the stylist is over booked and my appointment is canceled. The second appointment I've rebooked, I get a call 15 min before the appointment time telling me the stylist is running behind. Okay fine, I'll wait. About 15 min later they call back and say they can't accept my appointment because the machines are done. The third time I book an appointment I get a call about two hours before the appointment from the manager saying the stylist didn't come into work. This is my 3rd trip here & I waited to get an average on customer service before I posted a review. I usually don't worry too much on customer service BUT since honestly you come into this store needing to interact with employees, it needs to go well. They do have plenty of parking, clean store, well stocked. Which is why I gave it 2 stars and not 1. My first appointment here was a brow one a few months ago with a tall plump caucasian girl with glasses. Very enthusiastic & nice, but it took less than 3 minutes for the whole brow session and was $27...usually I book brows at Stockton & its always always at least 20 minutes! The girls study my brows, ask what I want, they tell me what they think they can do, they map out the shapes, prep, wax, pluck, & fill in. This girl literally waxed them up & missed a lot of hairs so I told her & she pretended to pluck then I said it looked the same & she replied "they are under the skin & I am not allowed to pluck there." I was upset. Then I came back & was testing a hair spray(I didn't know they were not Testers) & an employee rudely & loudly told me so instead of courteously. I honestly didn't know, I only go to Ulta for the brow bar. Lastly today I came in to check out christmas deals & my mom facetimed me. As I spoke with her around the store I could hear someone talking to me, but I thought they must mean someone else since I was on the phone. Nope, she kept following me so I turned around & she kept saying "do you need a perfume?" Since thats where I was & I said "no thanks I'm on the phone." Then she kept talking to me until i said no thanks again & walked away. I continued to peruse the aisles on the phone & noticed the employees were following me. This has never happened to me before! I felt so uncomfortable I left. I know there has been a ton of theft recently, but that was a bad shopping experience. There has to be a better way! read more

I am honestly probably never going back to any ulta. I had a salon appointment. The pictute attached is what I wanted. I even told them that I wanted the whole top part all green so no white. I was told to make a multi coloring appointment. I did then 2 days before my appointment I got a phone call. The girl told me that red and green are opposite colors so my hair would be Brown she also told me this doesn't sound like I have the right appointment or price range and so I needed a different type of appointment. Even though I was told it was a multi color appointment. I also don't see how my hair would be Brown if half of it's green and the other half is red. I tried to explain to her that I have had this done before. She got upset and asked if I could come by the store right now. I said no because I was currently having my current hair dye stripped from my hair in preparation for my salon appointment. She scolds then like children because she's trying to make up for her lack of talent and education in cosmetology. She also has a big mouth and never stops talking which is irritating to customers. Ulta does not encourage their stylists to move up in their careers and go on to bigger and better careers. Instead they fire them on the spot out of fear they will lose clients. The small consultation I had with her really made me trust her with cutting my hair. It was my first time getting a haircut at Ulta and the stations and materials used looked sanitary. WORST experience ever @Lodi Ulta Beauty.Had booked an appointment for hairstyle for my big day @4:45pm but no one came to help me till 5:40pm wasted my one hour waiting there and when she started doing my hair didnt even brush my hair and started doing the curls without applying any heat resistants/serums etc, even though i asked to add a little shine serum to it to make it look more presentable but she didnot and gave me the rough curls and ruined my BIG DAY....plus charged me $72 for that shit and when they got to know i was the BRIDE they were like oh i'm so sorry u should have told us you are the bride we dnt treat our brides like that...Like seriously? u treat others like shit then???! read more

Ashley from the Bare Minerals counter was fantastic! I recently went to the Bare Minerals store in Roseville and had a poor experience. The staff person did not match my foundation correctly, the color made my skin look terrible. Ashely matched my color immediately. I liked her professionalism and she was clearly knowledgeable. I asked for her help with a blush and new lip color. I don't wear a lot of makeup, she picked out colors that were perfect. I ended up buying an eye shadow too. I normally avoid the counter staff at makeup stores, they can be pushy or try drastic colors on me. This was a totally different experience and I highly recommend this store, especially Ashley in the Bare Minerals area. read more

This Ulta location is a dream!! It looks like they just opened very recently. I love the layout of this one! It's very organized and really easy to find everything I need! The store is very well stocked unlike the Stockton location where it took weeks sometimes for products to get restocked. They have salon services and best of all a full Clinique bar where you can sample products with the help of the employees! Yayy!! :) The employees were incredibly helpful and friendly and their customer service is great! I got approached a handful of times by staff members offering to help me find products and it was really nice not having to look for them all over the store :) Great first impression on my first visit!
