We've had a wonderful experience at Day Star Montessori. Our child has been here for over a year, and we honestly haven't had any negative experiences. The teachers are patient, caring, and genuinely invested in the children's growth. Whenever we had concerns, they were always willing to listen, work with us, and support our child in becoming more confident and comfortable in social settings. Another thing we really appreciate is the schedule. The school has relatively few closure days compared to many other programs, which is very helpful for working parents. If you need extended care until 6:00 PM, there are also many enrichment activities available, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore new interests. If you are looking for the perfect preschool for your child, Day Star Montessori is it. My daughter started at Day Star when she was 22 months old in the Infant class, moved on to the toddler/potty training class and is now leaving for TK after 2.5 years. It is bittersweet because our family loves this school, but we know she is well-prepared for elementary school because of how much she has grown at Day Star. All the teachers and staff are caring, patient, responsive and true experts in the field of early childhood education. They have the perfect balance of nurturing a love of learning, teaching respect and boundaries, instilling independence, and creating a fun environment. I trusted them fully with my daughter's safety and well-being because they truly earned my trust. My daughter is very independent and strong-willed, and it was amazing to see how her teachers were able to bring out the best in her without stifling her strong spirit. She LOVES going to school - she would actually complain about having to stay home when she was sick and asked me to drop her off earlier so she could have more time to do work and pick the lessons she wanted before they were taken! For anyone worried about Montessori teaching lacking structure compared to more traditional classroom settings, at 4 years old my daughter is able to write her full name, write all the letters and numbers up to 200, do addition, and identify all 7 continents and the majority of countries in each on a world map. My kid attended Day Star Montessori from September 2021 until July 2024. It is one of the best Montessori schools in the neighborhood. We had a great experience and my kid loved going to school. Sharing about the wonderful association we had with DayStar Montessori for the last 3 years. Daystar Montessori has been a second home for my daughter since she was 2.5 years old. It's hard to believe she's 5 and graduating already, but I'm so grateful for the incredible foundation they've given her. I have really enjoyed watching my daughter grow tremendously in confidence, skills, academics and foster new friendships and connections during her time at Daystar Montessori. First of all, I really want to give a shout out to the teachers and staff! They are genuinely caring, patient, and experts in the Montessori method. Most importantly, I could see how my daughter was always encouraged on the basis of patience and persistence, and never judged on results. This fostered my daughter's independence, curiosity, and love of learning. The curriculum is well-rounded, covering not just academics but also practical life skills, social-emotional development, and artistic expression. I used to be constantly impressed by the new songs my daughter used to come singing, new art and craft work. I was so surprised when my daughter showed me how they taught breathing to calm down :) They do a great job of keeping things fun and interesting, with activities like spring gardening, celebrating Fathers/Mothers day with songs and art, costume and pajama days for Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays, etc. The school has a warm, welcoming community of families. We've enjoyed the opportunity to visit the school and experience part of the school day during Sharing days, participate in engaging with students such as book reading during Diwali. I've hesitated on writing this review for 10 months. But, as we near the 1 yr anniversary of my 2 year old's expulsion from Day Star Montessori, I feel far enough away from the emotion of the situation that I can write a review. If your toddler struggles with biting, please do not send your child here. Our child struggled greatly with biting when other kids got close to him. However, Ms. Danah and the staff did not tell us they had a 3 strikes policy, even after we explicitly asked about their policy before we enrolled. I also found out around the time that my son was expelled (after 3 successful bites that did not break skin) that their "after school" care is to put all remaining children on the playground together at once. That means ages 2-6. The timing of his bites also lined up with this "after school" care transition time. After our time at Day Star, I felt like they might have a policy of "managing out" kids that need extra supervision and help adjusting in social scenarios. At 3.5, my child no longer bites and is a model student. It is the result of a lot of positive discipline by his current teachers, and no thanks at all to Day Star, who I believe actually hindered his journey to successful child-to-child interactions. read more

My daughter attended Day Star from July 2023 to Aug 2024 until she went to Kindergarten. - Largest selection of Montessori materials I have seen out of 5+ schools I toured. - A good atmosphere - you can tell the kids are respectful and have good manners. They are taught to put things back so the place is always tidy and organized. - On the larger side for a school, but able to do a good job containing sickness. I know some schools their kids end up being sick every other week, but with my kid I can only recall 1-2x from the last year. - Availability of school lunch at an affordable price. - Putting sunscreen on the kids everyday during summer. - A lot of fun planned activities - carnival day, magician, science experiments, etc. - Special events for the holidays - trick or treating, pajama day around Christmas, putting together red, white and blue snacks during July 4, etc. - Extra curricular activities done right at the school (optional + extra cost) including soccer, gymnastics, piano, and art. - Events for parents to get involved - which weren't available at other places we attended, including sharing day and parent teacher conference. - Learning day to day practical skills, like folding clothes, but also academic skills as well (she was writing numbers past 200). She started with Ms.Althea in July '23 and continued on with Ms.Ranju and Ms.Sharmila and Ms.Maegan. Day Star has been like an extended home for us over the past eight years. Both of my boys started attending this daycare when they were about 18 months old. This journey has been amazing for us. Despite their contrasting characters, the staff at Day Star have nurtured their strengths in a positive environment. They have been very accommodating to our special requests when needed. The staff are always available and patiently answer all our questions and concerns. Many times, we called during the day to request a call with the teachers without prior notice, and they always accommodated us without any hassle. The teachers have been amazing, and the curriculum is tailored to meet individual needs. We are truly sad to no longer be associated with them. This is an excellent school for little ones looking to build a strong foundation. Our son started at Day Star in the Fall of 2019. He just turned 2 years old. As first time parents, we had our doubts about leaving him with "strangers." After about a couple weeks, all of our doubts and fears were put to bed. The teachers and staff at Day Star started to feel like extended family. It was the best decision to have him attend Day Star! He has grown and learned so much there. We couldn't be happier with the curriculum at Day Star. All the teachers and staff truly care for the well being of all the kids. That was so evident during Covid. They went above and beyond the State recommendations to keep the kids safe and healthy. They were very transparent and communicated very well. In all, our son has been with the school for almost 3 years. In that time, he has become more of a creative, confident, and compassionate kid because of the teachers and staff at Day Star. My son started at Day Star when he turned 2 and he has been here till now (he is 3 year and 3 months now). When he joined he had communication/speech problems and we were worried for him. But in these last 1 year or so, he has improved a whole lot. Now my son is able to communicate and speak his mind. He has also learned a lot in terms of vocabulary, expression and to take care of his things. He eats by himself. He was also potty trained when he was there. His behavior is excellent and he has blossomed into a very nice kid during his stay there. About the Day Star, you get everything that you ask for in a Montessori - lots of light, EXTREMELY clean, very friendly teachers and people who genuinely care about both the welfare of the kids but also the convenience of the parents. Our son was one of the first to join back the Montessori during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have turned the entire place upside down in order to accommodate the kids and keep them safe. They constantly clean and air the entire place every so often. Kids are spaced apart and are not allowed to crowd in one area. All kids are expected to wear masks (more than 2 years) and they are encouraged to sanitize themselves constantly. At one point, we felt that our son being Day Star was actually more hygienic and safe for him than even being at our home! I personally vouch for the quality and reliability of this Montessori. At this time, I know most of the teachers there and there cannot be a better place for the child grow up in. I am in their debt for taking such good care of my son and raising him like their own. Day Star gave me the best impression right from start. Great environment for kids ( less plastic and more wooden sensory items) , their class rooms spick and span no matter what time of the day you walked in, the lunch menu covers a wide range of cuisines for kids unlike many other schools where the menu is deprived of fibrous food, veggies and fruits. There's one thing I particularly noticed about the personality of the teachers at Day Star, they were definitely hand picked because each one of them is graceful, soft-natured, kind and well suited for the Montessori. You will never see them raise their tone, be in a rush, talk fast and use conventional competitive teaching techniques and that is an admirable quality they possess here at Day Star . Me and my spouse weren't keen on putting our child in a competitive and highly academic environment. The Best Montessori in the neighborhood! The few sentences here do not do enough justice to the wonderful experience our kids had at Day Star.  One of our friends referred Day Star to us. We went for the usual tour and instantly liked the facility, teachers and the overall environment.  In our neighborhood, its perhaps the only pre-school that has a big, open structure with a well-maintained play area, multiple class rooms that are well lit due to large windows. The students were disciplined. While each were busy with their own set of work/project, they all looked so happy and content!  The school is one of the very few that truly follows the Montessori method of education. We sent our kids when they were not even 3 years, so we preferred their 'at your pace' Montessori curriculum. The school also provides a very reasonably priced hot-lunch program, which was a big help for us working parents. Our kids spent 3 years there. It was a happy journey, both for the kids and for us. They loved the school environment, the teachers and staff.  There was a personal connection. The school curriculum was practical, full of diverse exercises for a holistic child development. It never felt that there was too much pressure, although the kids learnt a lot. The quarterly parents nights were fun! During the pandemic, they kept a strict protocol to keep the campus free of Covid. We were never worried to send in our kids. My kids have so many fond memories of the school, memories that they'll cherish forever. Their first 3 years of school started the best way possible. We still miss Day Star. We sent our children to Day Star between 2018 and 2023. We like the Montessori style of learning, and Day Star has certified teachers in every classroom. You can tell that all the teachers love being around children and interacting with them. The school has a cheery, yet calm and organized energy to it. I've been associated with Day Star Montessori for the past 5.5 years and I've had a very pleasant experience. One of my kids even did her Kindergarten there. The first thing that attracted me to the school is the Montessori curriculum. A member of the AMI, the kids learn to be polite, independent and self sufficient. Second, the teachers/care givers are very friendly and well trained, especially for toddlers with a low student to teacher ratio, every kid almost gets personal attention. They took good additional care during covid time. My kids enjoyed their pre-school days. The one improvement I'd like to see is have some after school classes, they used to have to pre-covid and hopefully will bring back post covid when things come back to normal read more

We were interested in exploring Montessori system and decided to enroll my son at Day Star when he was 4 & 1/2. That was one of the best decisions we made. Unlike some other schools that follow it partially, this school follows the traditional montessori method completely. Academically the kids (my son and his friends) seem to be ahead of most other private schools and they seem to enjoy the learning experience. The best part is the wonderful teachers and staff. All of them are helpful, kind and loving. Ms. Althea, my child's school teacher is amazing. She is very patient, energetic and loves the kids. My kid used to look forward to go to school everyday. She is warm, affectionate and yet also firm. My son wishes he could continue with Ms. Althea and if they had first grade, we would have absolutely continued there. We have many wonderful memories ! We decided to enroll my son in their sister school for first grade because of the fantastic experience we had with Day Star. Though we have not tried the in-person classes, I've heard many positive things from parents who send their kids there. Some of my son's friends are attending the on site classes and are happy with the protocols put in place to ensure kids are safe in these COVID times. Pros:: Good set of toys for kids Generally good staff and teachers. Good mix of students from different cultures Cons: No monitoring camera to watch your kid (not even possible to sneak peak from outside) Some teachers are unenthusiastic about their work. It shows and kids can sense it. Noise level is extremely high in the backyard. In general, I recommend this place, but I see a lot can be done to improve. read more
