He actually knew what he was talking about and didn't just recite facts -- he added personality, humor, and context that made everything stick. When you're spending that long together on a bus, the vibe is everything, and he nailed it. We lucked out with amazing weather at the Cliffs -- cold, but crystal clear visibility. We hit both viewing areas (even with restoration work going on), and it still felt expansive and worth every second. Pictures don't do it justice. Galway was a blast. We had about two hours in the city center, which was enough to explore, grab food, and soak up the energy -- though honestly, I could've stayed all day. The recommendations we got were spot on. As first timers to Ireland, I chose the Dark Hedges/Giants Causeway/Belfast tour because I was infatuated by photos of the Dark Hedges I saw online. I had no idea it looked NOTHING like it. It was really a waste of a stop. Giants Causeway was nice.. great photo op. It's a long walk downhill, then back up. Luckily, there was a bus that operates both ways for £1 (tap cards accepted ). We heard there was opihi in Belfast and found some along the way (we're from Hawaii). Super windy that day so we were getting flown all over the rocks. Only stop on the tour that was worth it. Next stop, Belfast City Centre. The tour guy dropped us off near City Hall with absolutely no direction. He told us about a mall nearby, but that's it. Anything worth seeing was already closed. I really wished he would've gave us more recommendations about what to do, where to eat, or anything worth seeing in the short amount of time we had there. The bus drives erratically along winding roads, swinging horribly. At least 2 people on our tour were vomiting at their seats. It does stop at least every 1.5 hours for bathroom breaks but the stops are short, you do not get to experience anything at these stops except for one mediocre restaurant that is chosen for everyone for lunch. The cliffs are usually cloudy/windy/rainy anyway. Definitely not worth it. The driver was nice enough and gave some information while driving, that is the only positive feedback I can give.

Horses were perfect. Stable provides helmets and boots. (Those horrible ballistic riding vests are NOT required--thankfully). You are in Ireland so be prepared to ride in an English saddle and direct rein your horse (no western style neck reining). Notify tour if you prefer walk/trot or wish to belong to a canter group. While I'm capable of a gallop, I preferred choosing a leisurely walk/trot. Non riders are taken to other activities while we rode. We joined up again for lunch, which we chose to eat at Poppy's cafe and sit outside in the beautiful courtyard. Bring cash (Euros) if possible for these small businesses although they happily accept cards as well. Then the tour resumed through the Wicklow hills/mountains, stopping several times including a stop at Guiness Lake. Driver/guide was excellent!! (Tip: make sure to get all restrooming done before the drive begins as I don't recall places to stop en route) Lovely van tour ending at Glendalough where there is a place for refreshments, toilets, a bit of shopping. Also there's time to walk through the monastery ruins and walk to the lake, which is stunning. Price is reasonable for all that is included. We were returned to Dublin timely. You meet in the morning at Hilton Garden Inn and off we drive 2 hours to Northern Ireland. Robbie was our guide and he made us laugh a lot despite the terrible rainy weather. He was an extra on GoT and died 7x, and he got to live and tell us all about it. We visited many amazing and beautiful locations from S1 and S2 while walking close to 8 miles in the cold and rain. Do not wear your pretty shoes here because it was a muddy day for us. We started out at Tollymore Forest, visited Winterfell, and ended the day at Inch Abbey where Robb Stark was pledged King of the North. Because of the awful weather, the Inch Abbey was the only spot we got to wear the cloaks and play with all the props. This made me a bit bummed when I saw the gallery online and other groups got so many nice pictures in their cloaks throughout the tour. He taught us so much about the history of whiskey, where it originated, and how it's made today. We chose the classic tasting, which included three different whiskeys to sample. One of the most interesting things we learned was how adding just a drop of water can completely change the chemistry and flavor profile of whiskey. The tastings were all very distinct: **Skellig** (my personal favorite) - sweet, rich, and warm with a woodsy aroma and smooth flavor. **Fercullen Falls** (my husband's favorite) - smoky and peppery with a slightly sweet scent, followed by a spicy, woodsy flavor and a light vanilla finish. **Ardara** (not my favorite) - heavily peated and smoky. To me, it smelled like burnt rubber and old tires, with a bitter flavor and strong burnt aftertaste that lingered. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and a great way to learn more about Irish whiskey in a fun and approachable setting. Highly recommend for both whiskey lovers and beginners alike!
