So, when my friend came to visit us we figured what better than surfing lessons? My husband met Ryan Ragan of Vast Oceans when Ryan was teaching another class. Ryan was patient, thorough and prepared. Our experience was that Ryan was not only prepared for our children with right size boards, but had a tent up for the parents to relax in the shade on a very hot day. (Chair not included. So bring one!). Ryan went over board safety, how to fall properly so as to not get hurt, when to exit the board so as to not get hurt, proper board care, style and grace, how to get out into the surf, the steps of getting up on the board. He helps the kids get confidence and comfort. He does not push them to go beyond comfort zone but continuously reminds them what steps they will be doing. He is patient and kind. Definitely wants kids to have the joy of surfing and solid instruction. What to bring: long sleeved sun shirt (aka rash guard) sunscreen for legs and all other exposed areas, towel, chair (if you want to sit) your cell phone or camera for some great photo opportunity's if you are watching. Bring a snack and drink. You will have a break and it's a great time to get hydrated and apply sunscreen on legs again. Don't forget to tip!

He taught me so many different techniques in the water that immediately helped me get more hangtime on the waves. Jessie is an awesome, awesome coach and an overall great guy. Rented a house on the beach…read more Called these guys on a whim to see if I could get my wife a SUP since the ocean was so eerily calm- not only did they hook me up, but they delivered the boards and picked them up for what I thought was a totally reasonable daily rate. Guy that dropped them was chill and didn't ask for money or a deposit or anything. No paperwork changed hands, he just trusted us to use PayPal on the website. Totally, totally cool. Support this company. Vote with your dollars. There should be more businesses like this in the world.

We met John at the beach- he provided the boards, a quick lesson, and then got us out in the water! We even got caught in a huge rainstorm, so the lesson ended short but John and his wife gave us a ride to our car- so awesome and nice! Loved it and highly recommend this company :)

A total gem. Nothing says "welcome" quite like being glared at like you just insulted her ancestors. Customer service? Off the charts -- if the chart measures how quickly you can make someone want to leave. And the atmosphere? So inviting! Who doesn't love shopping in a place that radiates mean-girl energy and pure hostility? I mean, do they even want people to spend money there, or is it more of a "look but don't you dare buy" situation? Hollie, bless her heart, really adds that finishing touch -- all style, zero substance. The clothes are great, sure, but I'd gladly burn a gallon of gas just to shop somewhere that doesn't feel like a high school cafeteria circa 2010.
