We also got a room for our daughter and her fiancé. All together we paid about $1,000 for the six room nights. That's a lot for the quality of this Hampton Inn. We've stayed at dozens of Hampton Inns, and this one is below average. All the staff were very friendly, although some seemed incompetent. Our king accessible room was large, but the furnishings were way past their prime, and all the rooms apparently need to be refurbished. We also had a problem with ants coming up through the carpet squares. We reported this and asked for some ant spray, but we didn't get it. The breakfast wasn't up to par, with some of the dishes cold and nothing except the waffles were very appetizing. All in all I'd say you would be better off with one of the other Hampton Inns in Macon and environs.

The parking is valet only and is included in the mandatory report fee so be prepared for that. The grounds are immaculate and this place is definitely in a bubble. We used the pickleball courts and the spa. The pickleball courts were 3 miles away, but there is a shuttle you can take that is on-demand. You can also use the bikes that are included in the resort fee, but it is a hilly ride. The courts themselves are nice, and not owned by the Ritz, so they take your room number to charge the Ritz. The spa was really nice and guests are allowed to use the amenities without charge. There was a long line though so they took my name down. I got the tour in the meantime and found that it was pretty empty. The facilities are nice and clean, including a cold plunge, family indoor pool, hot tub, steam shower, and sauna. The room itself was well appointed and classy. The toiletries were abundant and the bathroom spacious, with a tub and free standing shower. The bed was soft and there was a small couch and desk. The TV was large, but had limited channels. The turndown service with small chocolates was a nice touch and I was blown away that they saw my mouse on the desk and put a Ritz mousepad underneath it for me. Since we were there for a retreat, we ate some meals in the tent, which was more than a tent. We had a buffet breakfast at Gaby's on the Lake with open seating and were able to grab a table next to the window for the fabulous views. Lastly, our sessions were in the Pavilion, which was a really nice facilities with comfy chairs, but only one unisex bathroom.

We checked in and was also able to get late check-out. Our room overlooked the parking area and out into the nearby businesses. I liked the layout of the room [as you walk in, the door opens to the kitchen and a high counter separates the living/work space. The bedroom and bathroom are to the left out of direct site if the main door was open]. It was also clean and comfortable. The room is equipped with a full-sized refrigerator and a 2-burner stove (we didn't use since it was a short stay). There was also a dishwasher we did not use. Complementary breakfast was very good. There was an egg & spinach quich that was delicious! Cheddar biscuits and other pastries was also available along with muffins, boiled eggs, oatmeal & other cereals, yogurt, fruits, and a coffee bar. Nearby, there is a publix supermarket and a few fast food eateries within walking distance. The hotel offered ample parking and a well-lit lot. Nothing!…read more Location is ideal, hotel is relatively new, staff is helpful and pleasant, pool was clean and large, gym was clean and had great equipment, the bed was comfy (sheets are noisy though), and breakfast was really good. I also took advantage of the fire pit. There is a 5-hole putting green as well to pass some time. I highly recommend this hotel to all.
