The polish I chose felt like it might have been a little old or possible applied too thickly since it was still a bit gummy an hour or more after application. The cleanliness is questionable to me. I'm not a nail aficionado by any means, but I noticed my tech using the same tool that was just used on my mom who was also receiving a pedicure. My tech rinsed with something before using it on me, which didn't concern me because it was only used on my mother but imagine if it had been a stranger seated next to me. Isn't is customary and sanitary for each tech to have fresh tools for each customer? I didn't love it, I didn't hate it but I probably wouldn't return.

When the lights came on the face bronzer didn't light up. I actually climbed out and told the girl the face bronzer lights didn't come on. She said "oh I don't know, they will..." and left. The lights never came on. I asked her for a refund. She rolled her eyes and said "We don't do that". I asked for a complimentary tan session. "We don't do that". I asked her who the owner is. "We don't give out that information". Now I know why. She told me to leave my phone number and the owner would call me back. I told Lauren if I didn't get a refund I would write a "scathing" review". THEN, about 15 minutes later I get a phone call from the owner, Lauren's mother. She was screaming that she was going to call the police on me because, she claimed, I put my hands on her daughter. I did not. These people are off the wall crazy. Then I find out they were charging my friend's credit card without his permission. Not only is this place un-ethical, machines are broken and they won't, obviously fix them, and they are trying to deflect their ethical responsibilities onto me by threatening to lie to the police.

I called into the shop and they said that not only were they able to get me in later that day, but that they have the perfect person to fix my color! Taragami covered every undesirable point of my hair and I was shocked by the results! It's perfect! She worked under two days of time crunch and challenge getting the orange out, toning the color, highlighting the blonde, then cutting and styling. Not just that, but even after giving me a perfect correction, color, and cut, she helped me out with a keratin treatment for my poor (but resilient) hair, and she even did my brows!! I don't think that I could in good conscience recommend another company in town. Their hospitality and customer service is matched not only by their location (in beautiful, historic downtown) but also by their talent and aweso me product selection! Way to go Plenty Mystic!
