It has books (of course), cds, dvds, magazines, computers for research and internet, free wifi, a lovely children section, a meeting room, clean bathrooms, and an elevator. Thanks to the inter-library loan system (brilliant!) you can order any book in the county and have it delivered to your branch for you to pick up (and drop off). In other words, if they don't have it, they should be able to get it for you! The parking lot is small (and on Wednesday nights, full of people attending the church across Cherry Street (grr)) but you can park on Cherry Street and near the ball park without a problem. We were surprised to see that they were statues. We had to get out of the car and investigate. We did a little research and found out that the male runner was constructed first in March 2002. He became a big hit and celebration among the runners who participated in the Gate River Run, a popular 15 kilometers race in Jacksonville. He was called the River Runner. Nine years later, a female runner and companion was constructed and placed behind him to continue the celebration and they became the River Runners.

My wife had a 10 AM appointment for her biometric screening. Upon entering the premises, we were led to a metal detector and baggage screening just like the airport screening. Safety first that's for sure! The officers were super friendly and accommodating. We were in and out in about fifteen minutes.
