I've purchased gear and trained with Black Sheep and I can't say enough good things about this…read morebusiness. As far as gear goes, I'm an astrophile, so I loved the galaxy look of everything right away and was ecstatic to find that not only did it look good, but performed even better. The gloves I purchased are some of the most comfortable and durable that I own, and I cannot WAIT to grab rash guards and spats! As for training, I came to Alex and Jess from a traditional Okinawan karate background and found that they were able to identify some of the habits of the style right away. This helped me to understand how to quickly translate the knowledge I already had to pick up more of the boxing, MMA, and Muay Thai techniques that they specialize in. I think what I appreciate most is how they approach training for newbies and kids. My teenager had almost no prior training background, is introverted, and is not very physical by nature, by the end of a pretty intense session she was asking about getting her own gear! Truly a place where you will be treated like family and pushed to be your best, no matter if you're looking for fitness, pro coaching, or self-defense.

I have been a student at warrior now for over a year, primarily Muay Thai and kickboxing (trying to…read moreget my BJJ on with coach Larry as much as I can lol my ground game is weakkkkk). I want to say this place is not for everyone but not in a bad way. Let me explain. At warrior, you will be pushed no matter your skill level. Beginner? They will tailor a workout or technique to you and expect as much from you as one of the Muay Thai fighters or purple belt BJJ guys/gals. The coaches genuinely care about you. Coach Angie, Coach Larry and Coach Noel are the best martial arts teachers I have had and I have trained at a few other gyms. They are experienced (with many professional fights under their own belt) and they are able to pass that knowledge on. But once again, you will be pushed. You will want to quit. Did you just do an hour of high intensity kickboxing? Awesome but guess what? There will be cardio at the end. It is hard because they want you to succeed and Warrior FC and the Warrior Family is not about mediocrity. They want you to be the best. Period. I have made amazing friends here, friends that will drive 2-3 hours to watch you fight, then hangout with you and eat pizza in the middle of the night so you can celebrate your finished weight cut. I would jump in the ring against pretty much anyone if my coaches said "we have a game plan". Maybe I drank the kool aid, but from experience you will not regret coming here. It will show you lots about yourself, you will meet amazing people (from the fighters to more casual goers, everyone is friendly and helpful), and you will get in shape and learn self defense. Give it a try. Trust me. Last brag on credentials- our team went to the Muay Thai tournament in Denver and brought home 8 state champions from 10 fighters. In BJJ, Coach Larry just had multiple winners at the neon belly tournament and Warrior represented at the US nationals with multiple medals (our ground karate is strong hahahah)

I was introduced to this gym through my best friend and her kids. Our old gym was way too far and…read morethis was the closest gym to us. My keikis have been going here for over a year now and they love it! We went for BJJ and they are now doing Muay Thai as well and loved it!!! They have good membership options and are very military-friendly. They also let you try it for a week before you decide if you want to do it or not. I guarantee that you will commit after the week! They are very welcoming and the coaches are amazing! My kids have done competitions and want to sign up for more. They also have a fundamental BJJ class on Saturday for both adults and kids. A great way for the kiddos to learn in a different environment. Try them out and make them your new gym Ohana! You won't be disappointed!

Update after the owner response: I initially gave a 2 star review because of my own experiences. Me…read moreasking about the fight team when I first joined two years prior is just a petty comment and has nothing to do with my critiques in the gym or my situation. I stand by everything I said. The lineage is in bJJ and wrestling and that is where cies shines. I am a white belt, but I've trained kickbixing with UFC strikers Pete Spratt and muay thai coach Kru Phet Phongsavane for more than 5 years as a casual non-professional athlete. I've also done multiple seminars with Duane Ludwig. I am allowed to have an opinion on striking and just because I've trained with people with good names doesn't mean I'm proficient. The gym itself is really nice. Weights, bags, a wall/fence, a changing room, and showers. The Bjj is also very good. I did sign up primarily for the kickboxing classes which were okay. There is a pretty basic push-pull system of striking. Left-right-left-right. The overall level of striking is pretty low. I'd suggest doing a trial class- you only get one though. You'll notice that they won't give you much feedback on form or application. Nothing on positioning, angles, or distance. You can judge for yourself by watching how the techniques are modeled for the class. Full transparency I did not attend regularly due to the nature of my work in a residential facility. This year I had a number of hardships to include becoming a full-time caregiver of my father, having my employment terminated due to cutbacks the day after closing on my home, having my dog attacked without pet insurace. I was the sole provider while my wife was in school. I offered the buisness owners any level of proof with documentation. I requested to have my account put on hold for payments after some level of financial stress in May. I requested 3 months of suspension. This was denied. Then when my father's health declined and my position was cut I requested to be released from my contract due to financial hardship. This was also denied. The contract does leave it to the owners discretion to terminate the relationship. But it was cited " its a tough time for everyone." On the rare occasion I did attend I believe I was always a good and selfless training partner for the fight team and for new members alike. I was never a trouble maker. I have 4 more months of payment before the contract is up. At some point I will go to the gym and hit the bags but I refuse to attend the classes. I won't have loyalty to a gym that won't consider people, circumstance, and hardship. I'll look elsewhere if I am ever able to attend combat sports classes regularly again.

I'd rate this as the #1 MMA facility in Colorado Springs. Gym is owned by the only head coach in…read moreColorado Springs who fought and won in the UFC. The UFC is the highest stage of professional fighting so you know this place is legit. The best part of the gym for me is they have a variety of training so I don't get bored. Gi BJJ, No Gi grappling, boxing, kickboxing and of course Amateur & Professional MMA. On the days I don't feel like fight training I just hit up the weight room. They installed a complete Rogue Fitness style weight room with everything you need to get a full body workout.
