But sometimes you just need to find the right people. Just a tiny piece of metal that stick out and prevented the shutter from rolling down. $95. That is all we paid for the service. Overall 3 stars from me (7/2020). They were available on short notice which was nice and the garage was fixed quickly, but the cost was much higher than what I've paid in the past, and you don't find out until they're already at your house ready to address the repair ($30 evaluation fee if you don't end up using their service). Had a pretty simple issue with our roll up garage door - the cables disconnected. Explained the issue over the phone and was told that they couldn't give me a price estimate for the seemingly standard fix. Ok fine, how bad could it be for the job that took under 30 minutes? $350. Seeing as I paid $150 less for the same job in the dead of winter from another company in the past, I wasn't too pleased, but as we share the garage with others I wasn't in a position to decline the service and have another company come in. I have a lot of respect for someone who drive to your home to help you even when it is late and freezing outside. Called last night and asked for service on our garage door. Got a window for today 8:30AM. Was about to call at 8:30 when no one showed when I got a call from the tech telling me he is outside. Already a good start. He opened and closed the door few times and showed me a broken wheel that caused the problem. His recommendation was to replace all 10 wheels to make sure this will not happen again. I want to share with you a story about a gentleman name amed who got our gate fixed on the day on 4 of July. I can say that I could enjoy the holiday thanks to him. They agreed to send a technician later that day. When the technician called to discuss the problem, he said I needed a new opener (Liftmaster 1/2 HP) and quoted a price of $650 for labor and materials. They sent Mikel their installer. He gave me few options, and told me that no matter who I will choose to install new garage opener for me, the opener should be Lift-Master. They are the best. I asked when can he install the new opener, and he answered" Right now. I agreed and he started removing the old opener. One hour of hard work and he called to let me know the new opener is installed, and that he is ready to over the details. I know one thing: You can tell when you see a good contractor and when you are seeing an amateur. The installers from DC Gates experts are not amateurs. The day I met with David, and from the questions he asked, as well as the answers he gave me, I knew I am talking to the right person. I didn't even care anymore if the other contractors we called will show or not (They did not). Simple questions others didn't ask: How many times a day you will be using the gate? This question contain the answers to most other questions. (The more times you open and close electric gate, the more strong the motor you need). I told him bout 100 times each day. He laughed and told me one thing: No matter how many estimates you will get, do not settle for cheap. The right system will be working even after 20 years. The wrong one can work 3-5 years, and the problems will start. So you will find you spent 3 times the amount you tried to save. So if you are planning to install automatic gate, ask yourself how many times a day you will be opening and closing it. It took DC gates experts 2 weeks to build the gate and get the parts. Sunday morning 3 installers set the foundations to the posts of the gate and the structure for the wires. Cement and a lot of drilling and digging. Tuesday they returned to complete the installation. 2 new motors and 8 remotes were supplied. All made by a company called Lift Master (Did my homework, they are making very strong motors). I want to thank David, Roy, Miguel and Ray for such a great service and for making our business secure again after the old automatic gate collapsed. read more

This has to be a fake company. I called them on Monday for fence repair. They told me someone would come between 1-2. Someone call around 12:30 pm which caught me off guard but it was ok. Now this is when I should've seen the red flags. I get a call from a personal number that he is here for the fence repair. I come outside, he looks at my fence, doesn't take any measurements, and told me he will get back to me with a quote through email. The guy told me to text him with some of my information. It's been nearly 4 days and no response. I even texted yesterday when could I expect a quote, and I got left on read. Do you know that feeling when a service provider does something for you that you thought will cost a lot, and ending with something not even close to it? This is what happened to me after DC Gates Experts came to repair our gate. When we saw the gate Monday morning we thought the gate is lost, stuck and cant be opened. One of our delivery trucks backed into it and pushed the gate out of the rails. We prepared for the worst, and got the great news when Victor told us it is a 20 minutes job. First let me say, a week ago I wrote a bad review for this company, I just learned the company vacant pay yelp to remove bad reviews. So here I go again. And I'll post it every day until my voice is heard. I am very mechanically inclined and fix most things myself. Because if time constraints I could not look at a gate door that was stuck in the open position. The tech came out as promised. The problems started as soon as soon as he got out of the truck. Without even looking at possible problems or the reason why it could be stuck open he said "the arms need to be replaced, you have a hydraulic leak". He never took off the inspection plate to see a leak. I asked him how he knew this and he said. I've seen this a lot and they don't make this anymore it's obsolete. I'll install a new and different set of arms for $5500. I said I'll need to get other quotes and ask if he could just manually get it closed. He said he would for $450. I of course asked why so much? He sId it would be very hard and time consuming. His boss agreed to $400. We had to have it closed so we agreed. He then proceeded to cut the steel arm with a cut off grinder closed the door and collected his money. IT TOOK HIM 20 MINUTES!!! so much for hard and time consuming. NOW IS THE BEST PART..... 1. Lie #1. I found on-line they exact parts and units are still made. Part would cost me $650 2. Lie #2. There was no hydraulic leak. Nothing was wrong with it. 3. Since he did not check I discovered the real problem was the door got stuck on a rock causing the breaker to trip. THAT WAS THE ONLY THING WRONG. NO ELECTRICITY TO THE CONTROL PANEL!! 4. Lie #3. He did not have to cut the steel to close the door. I found a perfectly operating manual release mechanism to close and open the door manually. 5. HE RUINED A PERFECTLY GOOD AND FUNCTIONAL DOOR BY CUTTING THE STEEL. 6. Now I'm forced to buy a new part for $650 7. I registered a complaint and the owner never called me back. Had he called me back and made it right I would not be writing this. Please don't ever use this company unless you like wasting your money and being taken advantage of. read more

AVOID THESE CRIMINALS I was cautious after seeing a couple other reviews that said they did not show up. I received communication right away to book the appointment on Saturday. We scheduled for Monday b/w 2-4pm. I was told I would receive a call 10 min before they arrived. The window came and went. No one called and no one showed up. They wasted my afternoon. Then, I get a call from the technician begging me for a second chance saying he will be fired if I don't let him come and it was a scheduling mistake. He comes to the second appointment and promised what seems to be a great service & I pay the deposit. While I am out of town working, I receive a phone call from the technician saying he is at my house and he needs to know where the outlets are outside. Now, if you are at my house wouldn't you know this? I ask him this but he just keeps asking me. His solution is in order to install what he promised me we need to run an extension cord from my garage down my driveway to the garage door they are supposed to install. An extension cord? I would never have agreed to this. Why did he not look for the outlets during the estimate? He wrote no measurements down at all. I had to hang up the phone b/c I was at work. The company called me 7 times in a row even though I told them I was working. Now, they are saying they will refund my deposit but have yet to do so and it has been a week. I am going to dispute the charge on my credit card if they do not refund my deposit ASAP. They promised a service they cannot deliver and are now not returning my deposit. This is actually THEFT!!! If I don't get my money back, I will dispute the charge and resolve this even if I have to take them to court. read more

To Summarize: They tried to charge $360 in parts and $180 in labor for a part that worked fine and only required a 10 minute adjustment. They tried to charge $300 and $180 in labor for a rubber hose. I directly asked Dave if he knew which part he was claiming was broken and he lied to my face. When I confronted the company about it they backed up Dave regardless of me proving he was a blatant scam artist. This place operates under a few other names that I'm aware of, 24/7 Garage door repair, Garage and gate company, and All in one garage door and gate repair. I called because my rolling steel garage door wouldn't go all the way up or stop when it reaches the ground. Also the sensor on the bottom of the door didn't work. They quoted me a $95 dollar service fee just to show up and were purposely vague about their other prices. They said they charged per item repaired but couldn't give me a quote about the items I needed. The tech Dave arrived within the service window and spent about 20 minutes examining the opener. He told me I had a bad limiter switch and that the sensor at the bottom of the door would be need to be replaced as well. He said the limiter switch was part of the main control board and so the whole board needed to me replaced. I know what a limiter switch looks like and didn't see any on the control board but did see 4 on the bottom of the box that contained all the control electronics. I asked if he meant these limiting switches and he said no the limiting switches are electronics soldered to the control board. He quoted me $360 for the control board, $300 for the sensor at the bottom of the door and $360 to install both. With taxes the total came to over $1100. Knowing that I could at very least find the parts for less than that I wrote him a check for $95 and sent him on his way. I looked up the model number of the opener online and found a service manual. That manual explained the incredibly simple process of adjusting the distance the door travels up and down by adjusting two plastic wheels on a threaded rod. It also confirmed that the limiter switches were not on the control board like Dave claimed. After about 10 minutes of adjusting I had the door opening and closing correctly. When I examined the sensor at the bottom of the door I discovered that it used a rubber tube to force air into a sensor that would stop the door. The sensor worked fine but the rubber hose had been chewed through by rats. I called my bank and stopped payment on the check, called the company and told them Dave had tried to rip me off and that they wouldn't be getting paid. They insisted Dave must have meant there was a bad capacitor or some other component on the board that needed to be replaced but didn't have any explanation for why simply adjusting the wheels according to the manual fixed the problems. read more
