1 STAR -- I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DC LAWN SERVICE One of the worst lawn-service experiences I've had. They mowed my lawn in the rain on saturated ground and left tire ruts and damage in my yard. I contacted Bethany and was promised they would return September 12 to correct it. Nobody showed. Nobody called. On September 14 at 11:35 a.m., I spoke with Bethany again and was specifically told Cory would be out that day to mow. Again, nobody showed and nobody called. I sent multiple written complaints and gave the company repeated opportunities to make this right. The damage remains unresolved. I also had another property under contract where mowing was included. DC Lawn Service stopped providing mowing in that area, so they were no longer providing the full service I originally contracted for. Property damage. Two promised return visits. Two no-shows. No courtesy calls. Multiple complaints without a meaningful resolution. Mistakes happen. Repeatedly promising to fix them and then not showing up is something else entirely. I terminated both services. Based on my experience, I would absolutely not recommend DC Lawn Service. read more

We hired this company to install irrigation in both the front and back yards of our newly built home, along with replacing any sod impacted by the installation. Unfortunately, the entire experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The project was originally scheduled as a two-day job during the last week of May. Prior to that date, we received multiple calls confirming the schedule, but we also received several calls asking us to reschedule to the exact date that was already on the calendar. This immediately raised concerns about their organization and scheduling process. When the scheduled week arrived, the company postponed the job by one week. The following week, they postponed it again and changed what was supposed to be a two-day project into a Friday-only start date. About an hour after work began, one of the technicians came to our door and informed us that they believed they had damaged our internet line. We immediately checked and confirmed that our internet service was no longer working. The technician apologized, and we contacted our internet provider. After digging trenches throughout both our front and back yards, the crew left for the weekend, leaving open trenches across the property with no markings, flags, or warnings indicating trip hazards. This was particularly concerning because rain was forecasted for the entire weekend. When work resumed the following week, the irrigation system was partially completed. However, the condition in which our property was left was unacceptable. We had recently installed healthy Bermuda sod before the project began. After the work was completed, sections of our Bermuda sod had been replaced with what appeared to be inexpensive centipede sod in the front yard, while portions of the back yard were left as exposed dirt with no replacement sod at all. In addition, mud and dirt were left on our porches, flower beds, new fence, storage shed, and even in neighboring areas. I have photographs documenting the condition of the property after the work was completed. When I contacted the company to express my concerns, I specifically requested that someone other than the original technician come evaluate the situation. I was told a manager would come out, but instead the technician returned. While he attempted to clean some areas, the sod issues remained unresolved. After another call, both a manager and the General Manager visited the property. They reviewed the damage but offered no meaningful resolution. Regarding the internet line, the General Manager stated he would need to speak with the technician because he was not convinced the company had caused the damage. Meanwhile, our internet provider confirmed that the line had been damaged. While they were able to repair the exterior portion, they informed us that the line had been pulled hard enough that additional damage existed inside the walls of our home, requiring an electrician to run a new line. The communication that followed was even more frustrating. The General Manager left a voicemail saying I needed to return his call before noon because he would be leaving for the day. We called back twice before noon and were told he was unavailable and in meetings. We were then told the owner would contact us. The owner never called. The next day, the General Manager called and stated that after speaking with the owner, the only offer they were willing to make was a $500 reduction on the remaining balance. When we requested to speak directly with the owner, we were refused and told the General Manager was speaking on the owner's behalf. When we attempted to discuss the damaged internet line, the electrician costs, and the unfinished sod replacement, the General Manager repeated that $500 was the only offer. He then stated that if we wanted anything more, "I'll see you in court," and hung up on us. As a result of this project, we have incurred additional expenses for internet repairs, electrical work, replacement sod, sod installation labor, and professional pressure washing to clean mud and debris left throughout our property. What should have been a straightforward irrigation installation turned into an expensive and stressful ordeal. Mistakes can happen on any project. What truly disappointed us was the lack of accountability, poor communication, refusal to allow us to speak with ownership, and the way our concerns were handled throughout the process. We contracted with DC-Lawn and Landscaping, to do work at our home in Gulf Shores. We were excited to have the plan drawn out for us and the promise to get the work done ASAP. The company asked for a 50% deposit, which we gave them in good faith. It is now September and our job has not been done yet. The company promised to have a crew here on 9/6/2021 and I drove down from Mississippi to meet them at the house. But guess what? No one showed up to do the work. So, we contacted another company to do our project and contacted Daniel at LC Lawn to get our deposit returned to us. We were informed that it is against company policy to return deposits. Since our deposit was to cover only labor and no materials, the company has not had any actual expenses tied to our job, so why won't they give us our money back? If you do work with these people, know this. They are not dependable. They do not honor their schedules. They love to make excuses. And like us, you will likely have to take them to court in order to get your money back. I have never had such a disappointing experience with any company and we hired a lot of contractors to repair our home from the effects of Sally. Do not use this business. I had initially provided an honest review providing details on why we felt the need to leave such a review, but recently received a letter from a lawyer retained by DC lawn threatening us with civil legal action if we didn't remove our review. In Alabama you can be sued for leaving a detailed review and are only safe posting opinions versus facts/details (didn't know that until now). So our opinion is you are better served by selecting a different company and we were extremely disappointed with our service and the manner in which we were treated as customers. read more
