Each unit being individually owned without a coop gives each homeowner liberty to do what they like. The downside is when we share a common roof and everyone decides for themselves about replacement. That being said I contacted at least a dozen companies last fall for a roof replacement only to be turned down since my unit sits in the middle of the complex. Of the few that agreed to work with me only Prescott gave me and my adjoining neighbors peace of mind by agreeing to work in the "transition areas" and extending their 15 year warranty to those areas so that the neighbors would approve the work. I also checked their references and got good reports from the people I spoke to. I highly recommend anyone considering a business to ask for and check their references. My roof was nearing the end of it's life and to avoid any potential water damage I was able to contract with them last fall for this year's project. Prescott roofing offers financing but if you pay by check you get 2% discount. With the trend of roofs now going to dimensional shingles I figured my 3 tab shingles up there weren't long for this world. The quote seemed high but the other few I did receive were higher than theirs especially for 3 tab shingles. With a few "hiccups" along the way my roofing team finally came out to do the job on a very hot summer day. I was very pleased with their honesty about the decking when they said didn't need replaced. That decking has been up there for many years and I was extremely concerned about the area around the ridge vent. They arranged for a dumpster to be placed on my driveway so that they could remove the debris. I was able to watch them through the install process and they answered all my questions and concerns. Since my townhouse is small they were able to complete the whole project in one day. I'm very pleased with the work they did as well as the clean up to make sure nothing got left and nothing fell into a neighbor's property. I'm very glad that they were able to "separate" my unit by installing ridge cap shingles after putting an water and ice guard shield both in the transition areas as well as the gutter lines. The workmanship is guaranteed for 15 years and they will register the shingles with the manufacturer and they in turn will send me my warranty. A new roofing system is a major investment but for me I wanted to make sure I was getting quality work for the amount of money put in. Time will tell about the new roof and how it stands up. This review will be updated to reflect that if need be but I feel confident that with them team working in near 100 degree heat that tar just immediately stuck to the new felt pad installed. So the shingles needed to be applied carefully. I'm very pleased with the work they did and more importantly to see it done properly.

The sales rep/owner Chad Sipes came to my house to talk about my projects. He gave me an estimate of $5,000, which I thought was a little high, but all home-improvement companies during the pandemic seem to be charging high prices. I hired Sipes and Son because they have been in business since the year 2000, they perform the services that I needed, and because they had excellent reviews on other websites such as the Better Business Bureau. The work was performed over about one month, because some of the work was for the exterior of my house, and the weather in January and February was snowy. Four workers came to my house off and on, and all of them were very courteous and professional. I feel very happy with the quality of their work. I expect the brick pointing and sealing to prevent rainwater from damaging my bricks and foundation. The pipe column and drywall were my husband's idea, and they probably were not necessary, but at least we can have peace of mind that our floor will always be sturdy. I am strongly considering hiring Sipes and Son to remodel my kitchen and bathrooms.

They estimated 2-3 weeks, possibly sooner, that our work would be started. They were willing to work around our vacations too. However, in mid-September we still had not heard from them despite several emails. I finally called them and they assured me they were "getting a crew together". As of today, November 10th, we have yet to hear from them. Obviously, we contracted another company who promptly came out, gave an estimate and were able to complete the work in ONE day. I understand our job may have been too small for EZ Exteriors to worry about, but it is very bad form not to inform the customer. We will not be using EZ Exteriors in the future and will certainly not recommend them.
