The premises is top of the range, huge matted area, a mirrored wall at the top, a punch bag rack & some equipment for fitness training too such as tricep dip bars, TRX and RIP 60 straps as well as olympic rings. Best thing that gives the edge over other places is access to tennis courts as well as loads of good and free classes. Never seems too busy either so you can always do what you need to! The main thing for me was to find a decent swimming pool in Dublin; finally I came to the Westmanstown to find out a new place, with a great gym and a nice pool, tennis courts, and car park. The place is clean, it has the gym with a 200 metres track, equipment to do weights, basketball, badminton, and many other activities pitch. Swimming lessons, aqua aerobics and so on. This place will be definitely the best of what you could get in Dublin 15 (even with the NAC being in the area). The Sports are not well supported in this country, and it is a pity that all people see is the money aspect of the disciplines. There should be more support from the government to create better athletes and a healthier society. The prices to join the Crunch are the same as anywhere else if you compare here you will get value for your money, you might get cheaper places but you will end up paying more because the place is not clean or the service is bad as well as the facilities you will get won't be the same. Nothing will be perfect all the time, of course something will go wrong someday, like water being cold or a power cut, but every time something happened I was well looked after. A family place for excellence, here kids are aloud and there is activities for them as well, the time is restricted which is ok. I really recommend it if you have children, go there and have a look, the staff will show you around all the facilities. Dublin Front Runners is a running group for the LGBT community. Established in January 2005, the…read moreclub is affiliated with the international network of Frontrunner clubs throughout the world and is a member of the Athletics Association of Ireland. The group have twice weekly meetings in Phoenix Park. The main run is on Saturday morning at 10a.m. Meeting point for this run is at the Papal cross. From October to March the Wednesday night the meet is at 7.30p.m in front of the Garda Head Quarters. For the summer months the Wednesday night meeting point is at the cricket grounds car park at 7.30p.m. No matter what your running abilities are you will always find members in the group to run and train with. It also has a huge social side to it. Every Saturday run is followed by the group going for breakfast and on Wednesday, it is to the local pub for some grub and a bit of craic. It also has a great social events calendar which includes wine tasting events, nights out, arranged marathon runs throughout Ireland and the U.K (but if that makes you feel exhausted just reading you can go as a spectator), there infamous annually table quiz and a lot more. It is a fantastic way to keep fit and socialise with like minded people. All members of the running group are extremely friendly and very welcoming to all new members.
