The experience with DCP / Mobile Mechanic was less than stellar. I used the Request A Quote option and received a reply days later from a guy that goes by the name Leroy. I noticed that he happens to respond to a few customer reviews periodically, mainly in a defensive and insulting manner to divert attention away potential customer or actual customer feedback. Leroy sent me a reply stating the following: "My minimum service fee to come out is $100. If it is a minor issue, it would be covered. If it is something more, then the $100 service fee would go towards the labor." I had no issues with this. In reply, I simply asked to be quoted for an actuator replacement in my AC and a quote for repairing a Freon leak that has already been dyed to make it easier to find the leak. I gather that this request did not make Leroy happy and rather than be provided a quote, I was told to go to Honda. Having already diagnosed the problem myself, in order to save time and compare pricing, I wanted to get a quote for the service to assess the reasonableness of the charge. In my mind, like any other conscious customer, I feel that is reasonable. From there, I'm assuming Leroy wasn't pleased because having them come out to inspect the car would allow him to lock in the $100 and poke around longer in the car to try and "discover" if there are other issues. Understanding that the $100 fee is reasonable and had no issues with the charge, my goal was to get a reasonable quote for the service. From that point on in the conversation, Leroy, representing DCP/Mobile Mechanics decided to engage in insults. The insults were about how old my car was and that it was junkie. That I was "broke" and apparently wasted my time when I was younger and "I'm too old to be driving junk cars" (I drive a 2013 Honda Accord that runs very well and taken great care of the care over the years with minimum problems). The insults continued throughout the conversation (not sure why) and was told to "stop wasting peoples time and confusing people." I assumed Requesting a Quote for service and providing a description of the problem was what Yelp intended to occur by creating the option, but apparently this isn't the case with some mechanics. Maybe pricing transparency isn't in Leroy's best interest to offer me a reasonable quote to complete the service request. I'm not sure. But, as I mentioned to Leroy, refusing service wasn't the problem in this situation, even refusing to offer a quote as requested. The issue was Leroy, acting on behalf of DCP/Mobile Mechanic decided it was in his best interest and in the business' best interest to insult and discourage a potential customer that is just trying to get price estimates to help make a decision regarding the maintenance of his vehicle. Simply put: Leroy and his business were attempting to disrupt the customers ability to make an informed decision. He could have simply just stated "Unable to service your vehicle" if he wasn't interested when the request for a quote was made. I'm sure Leroy will have a reply to this review and make a defensive response that tries to deflect and may even attempt to throw additional insults, but a few snippets of the conversation are attached as evidence. Customer Service needs improvement. There has to be a level of professionalism when talking with customers who have questions and concerns.

I was considering buying a used pickup truck and wanted to get a pre-purchase inspection. I got Dennis' name out of yelp and, based on the good reviews, gave him a call. We agreed to a time and a price (very reasonable). I arrived early and looked at the truck and took it for a test drive before Dennis arrived. I noticed a few things, but nothing major. I looked forward to Dennis making a thorough inspection. Dennis arrived on time and gave the truck a quick "look over." He told me that he didn't need to hook up his computer and drive the truck, as he could see major problems. He pointed out to me that he could tell that the truck had been in a major accident and showed me where the repairs had been made (poorly made). He cranked up the car and, by listening, could hear problems with the engine. All this took so little time that Dennis wouldn't accept the money we had agreed on and would only accept half of it for making the trip. I thank Dennis from saving me from making a huge mistake and buying a "money pit." I will definitely use Dennis for my car repair needs in the future. read more

car was run off the road but was able to get it home and park. next morning, call wouldn't start as the light were on all night. called Leroy to jump my car. he said 100$. when he got there he said I didn't need a jump, I needed a new starter for $300. I asked him to at least try to hum it and he saidI'm not listening that's not the problem". he ended up becoming belligerent and unprofessional, and leaving because he wanted to get me for $300 and I new that wasn't the case. he left, I called someone else. they jumped the car and it started no problems. very bad horrible service read more

I called Dennis Mobile Auto Mechanic after 2 other mobile mechanics didn't return my call. Leroy answered on the first ring and we made an appointment for the same afternoon. Pleasant and polite guy. Initially, my old 2005 Hyundai Elantra would start, idle for about 5 minutes and die, Eventually, it got better but for safety reasons and being a senior citizen, I wanted to have a professional check it out. He did a good check on the oil, brake fluid and other stuffs and we let the car runn for awhile and finally he told me to do a test drive. No repairs done but he did suggest future replacement and repairs for 2 items. To my surprise, he didn't charge me anything. Wow! Awesome! I was not only impressed but I was very grateful. The offer was made in all honesty and sincerity, Nowadays, hard to find somebody who would even do you a favor. Worst service ever... complete rip off and charged for new parts yet installed used parts clearly from the junkyard. Did not solve any of the problems. Believe he mad them worse and tried to charge for more. Not a clean mechanic either. Destroyed my paint also with tools read more

DCP not only sells car parts but provides mobile auto mechanic services. Dennis is not only a great mechanic but he is a wonderful human, kind caring human being. After paying another mechanic from a bad company to install an alternator on my car he left without ever starting the car, saying something about not being able to jump start a battery with a new alternator. I found Dennis the next day and he came to my house within 30 minutes of my original phone call. He looked at the car and tried to jump start it. The battery was not holding a charge so he offered to take me to get the battery charged and/or buy a new one. I ended up buying a new one which he installed and got the car running. He also checked all the other vitals on the car and gave me a great plan to fix other issues on my 20 year old car. I was a bit short on money and he worked with me on paying his very reasonable fee. I don't know what I would have done without his help and caring. He is a truly special man and a rare gem in this day and age. I will be giving him all my future personal automotive work and will recommend him in the highest to everyone I know. I just can't say enough good things about Dennis.
