I gave up on WE and started poking around the online inventory of Atlanta's many vintage shops. I'd tabbed a few items and found myself coming back to a walnut sideboard from City Issue. It was a little out of my comfort zone style-wise but it was exactly what I was looking for utility-wise and price-wise. I used the "Inquire" button on their website to request a hold on it to see it in person. Someone got back to me within just a few minutes! The in-person experience was fantastic. The inventory is gorgeous and it made me all the more upset with myself for defaulting to giant corporate furniture stores. I unfortunately did not get the name of the employee who helped me but gosh, did she help! She had me bring my car around while she got the piece on wheels, helped us load it into the car, and even helped out with the most effective way to tie it down and keep the trunk from damaging it. This piece was over a foot longer than the WE sideboard, which was less expensive but adding in shipping, totaled only $3 cheaper than what I ended up with. I was exceedingly pleased with the entire experience and would absolutely come back.
