I have been to several chiropractors over three decades, and Dr. Alfredo stands out as the best of all of them! He is an excellent chiropractor with a high level of skill and professionalism, and he immediately understood my condition and the precise amount of adjusting force required to correct it. Other practitioners have tended to use too much force when adjusting my small frame the first time, often leaving me quite sore, but I am very happy with the treatments I have received from Dr. Alfredo, which we very comfortable and have completely alleviated my symptoms. One of the best things about this practice is the fact that they have the ability to do x-rays in the office, which is unusual in my experience, and greatly appreciated, because it saved me a trip to get the x-rays done at another facility. I also find their fees to be quite reasonable. The only downside to the would be the cost of parking at the Bentall Centre, which can be a few dollars to over $15 depending on the length of the appointment. It would be nice if parking validations or at least a discount of some sort were provided for those patients for whom parking costs would be a burden.

On my first visit, the appointment was about 40 minutes. Dr. Lo taught me some strengthening exercises and also treated my neck, shoulder, and back area. He was specific to educate me and strengthen the muscles so that I would not rely on his treatments. I felt like he really wanted me to be better rather than get me to come back. I didn't feel much difference after the first appointment, but then, I carried a heavy backpack for a few days on vacation and became more tense. So I continued to see him, twice since then. I definitely felt better right after these subsequent appointments, but I will have to work on the exercises consistently to see long term results. Dr. Lo is also great at educating on small things I can do that can change my health overall. His rates are very reasonable. It is $55 a session and $25 if you have MSP premium. They do direct billing to most insurance companies. He is not so overbooked that it's hard to get an appointment, too. The receptionist, Gloria, is really nice. She knows me by name, always picks up the phone, is super patient, and very efficient. She took the time to explain the pricing and how insurance would work. You can send a message on their website and she will reply so quickly. Honestly, some of the best service I've received in the health field. It's also a plus that this location is pretty convenient. I've since seen several different RMTs here, and have been pleased with the results each time. I usually go for basic maintenance; my hips have a tendency to become misaligned, and I've been properly re-adjusted every time. Last year I strained my achilles tendon, and the RMTs at Tonume definitely helped to speed up my recovery. They were also life-savers after I had surgery on my wrist this past summer. I had to do everything with my non-dominant hand/arm, and those poor muscles were not used to all the stress. I don't know what I would have done without regular massages on my arm and back then! I've also gone just to get some quiet relaxation time in. Some of the RMTs are a bit chatty, but I find if I mention I would like to relax when I'm booking an appointment, they are a bit quieter once the massage has started. It used to be fairly easy to just walk in or call and get an appointment with very short notice. In the past few months I've found it's gotten a lot more difficult to book, so be sure to book in advance (especially towards the end of the year when everyone is trying to use up their benefits). They do have an online booking system, which is usually handy, but it did fail on me once, which made for a particularly disappointing afternoon when I showed up only to find I didn't actually have an appointment. Be sure to double check!
