Holy cannoli!!! After trying several chiro's (7 of them) around the ventura county area, I found Dr. Mark Algee. When I first went into his office....he wasn't there...he was out of the country. BUT! when he came back, man did I finalize get the relief I had been searching for. As someone who suffers from life altering anxiety/panic attacks and deals with chronic back pain and numbness of limbs, I needed the 8th chiro to really put in the work to help me get some of my life back. Dr. Algee's adjustments are exactly what I needed and have helped reduced inflammation of pain and have helped me live my life with longer periods of being able to live a life. He has office hours that support my work schedule and his availability fits my needs. He is in network with the Veteran's Administration and is familiar with the paperwork they require to continue care. I will say going up the two flights of stairs isn't always ideal when I go in the office but after a visit I feel like I can jump off of them. Dr. Algee at De-Stress chiropractic is the best chiropractor I've ever gone to! He is thoughtful, and extremely skilled, and won't give up until he's relieved your discomfort. I've gone to other chiropractors who refused to lay hands on me during our first appointment, or only tried one or two adjustments and argued with me when I complained that I was still in discomfort. Dr. Algee is a miracle worker. He not only heals the body, but also the spirit. I had unbearable sciatica pain when I limped into his office and was under a tremendous amount of stress. I was filled with anxiety. After only 2 visits, I was able to dress myself (something I wasn't able to do due to pain when bending over), I could sit and stand for longer than 2 minutes without needing to drop to the floor for relief. I could sleep (something I hadn't done in a month due to pain and anxiety). I am an RN and used to work in Chiropractic. Dr. Algee is not only a chiropractor, he is a healer. He provides a safe, calm environment. While he aligns and adjusts, he puts your stress level and well-being before all else. Time spent with Dr. Algee isn't a "quick crack". This was my first time trying this chiropractor. I was given a same day appointment and had high hopes. There are two offices but when I made the appointment I was not told that. I arrived to my appointment and the office was closed. I then rushed to the other office clear across town trying to make the appointment and try to get my son from school right after. I had been in a ton of pain that day. When I got there the receptionist just looked at my insurance card and told me I would have a high deductible and I would have to pay out of pocket for the visit. I was told it was would be $120 then if my insurance covered it, it was $75 but the discount could bring me to $55. My insurance was not even ran, I even called and that was not the case. My co-pay was no where near any of those amounts. I ran around and rushed just to not be seen. I would suggest you look elsewhere for chiropractic services. read more

Dr. Algee loves his job. It is clear that he cares about his clients. He is very mindful about what he does and how he does it. It is very specific to the person and their nervous system, and check ins are done often throughout the sessions. This was such a refreshing experience, because it shows that he is sensitive about how your body is responding, and it also gives you a moment to check in with yourself. His office is calming, and his expertise is outstanding. I have never received adjustments like I have from Dr. Algee. They are very precise, relieving, and effective. Furthermore, he has also showed care by asking how your adjustments feel hours after your session with him. I will start off by saying I am very selective with who I trust with my health, especially my spine. I was rear ended in a car accident and had/have post concussive syndrome. I couldn't stop randomly crying for weeks due to my brain simply not processing information at the speed I was used to. I also had pain all over my body due to whiplash and four herniated discs. I watched some of Dr. Algee's youtube videos so I was somewhat prepared for his approach. My first visit to his office I was a mess. I could barely function and I had a low threshold for loud noises or surprises. Due to the accident and ensuing stress, my nerves were effectively rattled. Even before I arrived to the office for my first appointment, Dr. Algee's kindhearted demeanor put me at ease. He encouraged me to relax. After my first visit I left his office a totally new person. I felt calm, I felt relaxed and my pain had magically disappeared. I understand that with car accident injuries, one must be patient with the body's healing process. After my second visit to his office, my stress response was back to normal. I have only been for four visits, yet my emotional endurance is remarkable compared to before I visited his office. Hands down this place is great!! I woke up and out of nowhere my back was shooting pain all the way down to my feet the worst pain ever, my wife said it sounded like A sciatic nerve never heard of this before but trust me when I say I do now. I looked all over yelp and myself as a business owner look for good reviews, so I found Dr. Algee and he called me back in about 5 mins and told me he would get me right in. I am new to ventura. I was looking for a new chiropractor I could trust. I've had a pretty intense year and carry a lot of stress. This usually result in horrid headaches. My wife and I went in to visit the chiropractor because we've been having a lot of headaches and lower back problems, he got us in very quick. He is also very attentive to you to see what is really causing the pains, he did some balance test on my wife and I. We walked out of there feeling much better. To be honest, when I first went to see Dr. Algee, it was because my regular chiropractor was not available. It was the weekend and I was in a lot of pain. My mom was in town so she came with me. When we first walked in, Dr. Algee started talking about how he wasn't like other chiropractors. We were definitely skeptical. He started with some balance exercises. He had me walk toe to toe like a sobriety test. Even though I hadn't had a drop of liquor, I couldn't do it. After he adjusted me, my balance significantly improved and my pain was gone. To me (especially being as skeptical as I was) it was so awesome to see tangible evidence that what he was doing was working on ME. My mom was intrigued, so she also did the exercises and got adjusted. Same story. He even took a video so that we could watch the before and after to see the difference. Afterwards, I felt great but I still wasn't sure. I had to wait and see if this magic lasted. A week later, I still felt great. (My mom did too). So then I knew this guy was the real deal. The results spoke for themselves. Since that first visit, I have gone back. Dr. Algee took his time. He was actively asking questions about my mood, sleep, and stresses in my life because he wanted to fix anything that was wrong. It seems like he understands connections in the body better than the other chiropractors I have been to. He used to do massage so he will really feel in the muscles to find out what needs to be adjusted, instead of just the standard adjustment that I got every week at other doctors. In just the few visits I have had, I have learned SO much. I ask a lot of questions and he always has answers. His perspective is very different than what I am used to, but he makes a lot of sense. No bs. Oh! One more thing! If you've ever gone to a chiropractor, they do the super scary neck snapping thing. He doesn't do that. Phew! He actually adjusted my next and upper back and the adjusted my lower back!! Well 3-7-2022 I was in a car accident and experienced the most extreme whip lash ever my back my neck wrist knee and lower lumbar was in so much pain, wile seeing Dr. Mark Algee he has made a dramatic impact in my life not only is he there for me whenever a question arises (regarding pain) he seems to go above and beyond to cater to my needs as he is working on puting the broken pieces back together again.
