The owner is very nice and can help you find whatever you are looking for. A couple of the records I purchased were skipping on my record player for some reason, but the owner made it right even though they seemed to play fine on his player. He gave me a record player mat that might help with skipping, dunno if it does or not, but none of the new records I got have skipped with the mat on! Cool place, cool owner, will be back!

In the area visiting friends in Hickory, I spotted this comic shop close by and decided to stop by…read moreand check them out. I was astonished at the variety and depth of stock items. Comics, cards, figurines, Pops, Star Wars collectibles, Star Trek collectibles, Hot Wheels, etc. I would not have believed the huge stocks from the outside. Plus some oversized Star Wars items: R2D2, a Droid, and a diorama of Dogabah. These guys are fans first and retailers second. Had a nice conversation about comics and left them with information on checking out my collection and possible deals. They were friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help. Check them out! Just leave enough time to browse around and maybe find that one item you have been looking for.

It is set up like a typical antiques mall with items provided by different vendors, so you'll see some items priced higher than others based on who the vendor is, but I found the prices overall to be good. I stocked up on vintage glass decanters that were priced well below what I would normally see at similar stores in other cities, which was surprising given that resort town prices are often inflated. We met a vendor as we browsed, a friendly older gentlemen who asked about the items we were inspecting and told us where he sources most of his wares, and the lady who checked us out was also helpful and kind. Lots of records and toys, but you'll also find all the variety of items you expect in an antiques market. Finding the set of chicken decanters and the world's largest witch's broom were worth the trip even if I hadn't scored so many of the decanters I was searching for that day. We will definitely make this store part of our itinerary every time we return to Sugar Mountain.

My son has special needs and pointed his finger in her direction to ask her a question. He absolutely did not point his finger in a rude way and not even towards her face. The old lady snapped at him and said, "excuse me are you pointing your finger at me", "do not do that, I don't like that and that's very rude." The only thing that was rude was her. I feel it's very common sense to not correct a child when a parent is clearly standing right beside them. If I felt my child was in the wrong and had pointed towards her to be rude I would have 100 percent corrected him. She was clearly the type of person that gets easily offended about every little thing. We were out shopping around for my son's birthday and he loves music and records but instead of getting himself a record with his birthday money, he wanted to pick one out for his barber (because that's the type of heart he has). I had planned on letting him pick out a few records for his birthday there but we left after that. I'd never spend my money at a place where an employee was so rude. I'm not sure if she isn't a kid person or just not a nice person in general but we won't be back and we will also tell others about the unpleasant experience.
