This turned out to be a more involved procedure than I thought, as it was necessary to perform both a "lateral sinus lift" and a "vertical sinus lift" (you can look those up) to provide sufficient bone structure to support the implant. From the first day, Dr. Yi was extremely personable and explained the entire process in clear, understandable detail. She really has a fantastic 'bedside manner'. All of the staff that tended to me during the several office visits for the various levels of the process, were so wonderful, and confident in their work performance. The surgery was flawless, and she scheduled regular follow ups to ensure the bone grafts were healing properly. The end result is something that I am truly impressed with. A billing staff member who identified herself as Erin told me that my primary insurance (Delta) had overpaid and the insurance company typically refunds the credit to the patient. When I contacted my primary insurance, they told me this does not happen. I was then told by the same billing staff member that the office - not the insurance - would be issuing the refund, contradicting what I had previously been told. During this process, I received a voicemail from them instructing me to stop contacting my insurance and let the office "handle it" as that would be "in my best interest"?? When I asked for an invoice or itemized statement to understand the charges and credit on my account, I was told that invoices are not provided. And to top it off, I have to get 2/4 teeth revised (without IV anesthetic which the office will not cover) because half the gum graft was unsuccessful.

He missed two appointments this year due to health and medication he is on, and upon realizing this, he proactively called to apologize and even offered to pay for the missed sessions. The staff assured him it was fine and expressed understanding and rebooked him to come in today at 9:30am. Today, when he arrived for his scheduled appointment, he was informed that it had been canceled, and that a message had been left for him. We did not receive any messages or missed calls from them. He told the receptionist that and her reply was "OH" that's all she said like she knew they didn't call him. When he attempted to reschedule, he was informed that due to the previously missed appointments, he would need to pay $200 upfront for the next session. ODD why didn't they say that before? Makes no sense to us. The demeanor of the staff during this interaction was unprofessional, as it appeared that today's visit was intentionally scheduled as a sort of payback for his previously missed appointments, they never intended to see him and planned to waste his time just to tell him that and smirk while doing so. Not a great way to treat a patient. So unprofessional.

Forced me to change some bad habits, turned my gum health completely around--all while giving such excellent care. He is gentle, he explains everything, (I hate that I'm not sure of her name) Stephanie??, his dental surgery assistant, is amazing. They both put me at ease and are genuinely caring about my experience. His whole team (front office!!) is wonderful. Friendly, compassionate, communicative. The only things I don't like? He's about a half-hour drive from my house AND he isn't a general dentist. I'd drive as far as I had to, to get the kind of care I get from this office. Keep up the good work, people!

Their office manager/billing coordinator Stacy refused to refund the money I am owed. I tried to resolve the matter over the phone and Stacy hung up on me. Twice. At no point were voices raised or insults exchanged, she simply hung up on me because she didn't like being asked for a refund. I requested that they provide documentation of their billing submission to my insurance provider and put their refund refusal in writing and Stacy told me this request was a waste of her time. Not a super fancy or modern office but the pricing is fair (when you go a fancy office you will pay more and the dentist has to see more patients as they have more overhead). I was seeing a different local dentist with good reviews on Google / Yelp and office was fancier but everytime I went there the dentist was rushing from patient to patient (I could hear him quickly chatting to other patients and he jumped from one to the next) and upselling. That office had fancy equipment which I now realize doesn't mean better care, just more profit (ie at one visit he asked if I wanted to see my teeth and I said yes thinking "how cool" and he put this camera thing in my mouth for about 10 secs and I saw instant pics on a screen of the inside of my mouth and yeah it was cool until I found out it cost me $49 for that "scan" and wasn't covered by insurance). Anyway I want a thorough dental check up and i don't need bells and whistles - Dr Cheng's office is perfect in this regard. He is patient and took his time, not jumping from patient to patient for quick 5 mins like other places. Hygienist did great.
