The receptionists are on the cold side and kind of aloof. I went in there recently for a dental cleaning and they hand me a tablet to re-register with them since I hadn't been there in two years. I couldn't get this tablet to work, the information I wrote down kept deleting. I tried for over 30 minutes, got fed up and walked out. They simply couldn't give me registration papers to write on? I mixed up the dates and mistakenly thought my appointment was on June 24 instead of June 23. When I arrived at the office, I was told that the next available appointment was not until November, even though it is currently June. A five-month wait for an appointment is simply too long for me. I was also asked to register through the patient portal, but the website would not allow me to complete registration without entering a Social Security Number. I understand some offices request this information, but I would have appreciated an alternative option for patients who prefer not to provide their SSN online. To be clear, my review is not about the dentists or the quality of care, as I never had the opportunity to see a dentist. I have no complaints about the doctors themselves. My concerns are with the scheduling process, the long wait time for appointments, and the registration system, which I found difficult and inconvenient to use. Guess I should've read the reviews that's on me. Called to schedule an appointment was told short about 25-30 mins and to arrive early to complete paperwork. When I check in at no point does she tell me I need to come back to the counter when I've completed the paperwork. I wait 15 mins past my appointment time for the receptionist to finally call me to the counter to tell me she has been waiting on me and I can't be seen till she enters the paper work and that it will take her more than 15/20 mins to complete said task. I tell her I will need to reschedule since I'm on a lunch break and she proceeded to tell the soonest is end of July unfortunately we have plans already so soonest is Aug you would think since it was your mistake you would own up to the problem and try and fix it see if you can fit someone in. My first appointment with Eureka dental group I arrived at 8:45 for 9 AM appointment and found out that my dentist called in sick and my appointment had been canceled. I was rescheduled for the following week went back. I had x-rays and I had teeth to fill but awaiting approval from my general insurance. Yesterday afternoon received a phone call that they got the approval and they were able to schedule me for the following day at 2:30. I called at 1:30 as I was not feeling good having heart palpitations. I wanted to reschedule and they told me they're gonna charge me $75. I will no longer be going back to see them. I would like to know who would like to pay my gas and my time for when they canceled on me and didn't let me know. I had already prepaid for the work to be done. Be careful before you go there. Last week I had a disappointing experience at this dental office. I called multiple times and it went to voicemail. This week, I decided to walk in to make an appointment, and the receptionist told me to sit down and that she would call me when she was ready despite not having any availability until February of next year. I didn't mind and was happy to make an appointment. I mentioned I had another appointment next door and would return. When I came back, I waited for about over 10 minutes while the one receptionist disengaged, pouted, walking back and forth, while the other was busy booking follow up appointments for next week. I even told the same receptionist that I was back waiting for her. I watched your help two patients that walked in. Answered questions for two other patients that were waiting and she just continued to ignore me. I felt that this place did not deserve anyone's business. Overall, the staff's attitude was rude and unprofessional, not just to me but to others in the waiting area as well. I wouldn't recommend this office based on my experiences. read more

Scheduling gets 1 star. They run their office piss poor. They are always late, they cancel appointments the day before and this happens all the time when they want to clear their calendar for a month they over schedule and they call people and blame the hygienist and say oh we can't see you because of our hygienist and we'll have to reschedule you for next month, but when they call to cancel it, they don't even reschedule you. They just cancel you. This is happened two or three times this year. They're so overscheduled that the staff rushes and the dentists don't have enough time to do the work the right way the first time usually. They rush everything, including waiting for you to get numb before you start drilling it is absolutely insane the amount of money they make and the low level of time and care received. I had the best dentist for years until he retired so I really know what good care is and what the top of the class gives you and I've never missed him more in my life than now. read more

Avoid Eureka Dental Office if you have a root canal referral! My visit to Eureka Dental Office felt like a timeshare presentation. Instead of addressing my root canal referral, they tried to sell me implants and pushed for out-of-pocket expenses like 3-D imaging and gum trimming if I chose their plan. Specifically, a younger Asian male dentist attempted to discourage me from getting a root canal by instilling fear and showing persuasive pictures. He claimed there was a 50/50 chance the pain would disappear and suggested pulling the tooth and getting an implant, which isn't covered by insurance. Just wasted my precious time in this hellhole! I saw Dr. Ismatt, D.D.S. She is a GIFT! The most STELLAR dentist I have experienced in my 65 years. I barely felt the lidocaine injections. That's never happened before and I saw a world class dentist in San Francisco. I went to the West Sacramento location. Unfortunately, due to bad teeth and medical complications I required multiple extraction and root grafting. I required strong pain relief for only 1 day! Following the doctor's advice to ice repeatedly for a day, I only needed 1 painkiller the next morning. Today I had went into eureka dental for just only my deep cleaning. I was called in and before I know it I'm in the very back room and was getting my gums numbed. I knew it wasn't right too as soon as the dentist came back with another numbing, but a shot this time. That's when I had ask if I was in the right place, and I was reassured by him that I was. It wasn't until after my second filler was put in, thats when a female dentist lady pulled him aside and said I wasn't the right patient. Dr. Cho is a joke. I had a root canal done by a previous dentist here (Dr. Olga AMAZING) and I had came back since I had another issue with my tooth and Dr. Cho came to give me a consult and oh my god. This man was such an a**h***. Kept saying why? Why? Why? Why did this happen? Why? Why? Like calm down f*** . I felt cornered sitting in the chair and the assistant there his facial expression was all I needed to know that this happens often. After dr. Cho left and another assistant came to do my dental cleaning I felt so relieved. But as she was cleaning, Dr. Cho went to the next patient next to me and he DID THE SAME THING!!! After a bad experience of having my teeth cleaned here, I looked through the reviews and felt inspired to write my own. I've been coming here for years, and most of the time have had no issues. However, after my last appointment, I never want to have my teeth cleaned here again. Between long wait times, and difficulty with scheduling, the people here are rude. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the hygienist that cleaned my teeth had the worst attitude towards me. Not sure if it was racially motivated or not (many of the positive reviews are by white people, and I'm not), but she was downright nasty. I just wanted to have my teeth cleaned. It's hard to tell who she was, as she never introduced herself to me and always wore a mask, but after looking at the pictures of staff on their website, I'm pretty sure it was Mela Trofimov. She was extremely rough with my mouth, and it seemed like she was rushing the cleaning, which was why she was sloppy and cut me. She also made a couple rude comments about me while she had her tools in my mouth, so I couldn't respond back. This isn't the first time I've had issues with her, but it's the first time she's been more than passive aggressive with me. I've also had pain in between two of my teeth for two years now, and every time I try to bring it up to anyone, they dismiss me. It's really disappointing to be treated like that, especially after reading some of the positive comments left by others. If anyone reads this, please be careful before deciding to come here. I don't want other people to have the negative experience that others and I had. If you read their Google reviews, they also bully and harass some of the people who wrote negative comments about them, even going so far as to cancel someone's appointment over this. read more

Somehow my first review, albeit factual down to the last word, was deleted. So I'll keep this basic and factual (again) Initially I was asked to pay 1/2 down before an appointment would be scheduled for myself. When I refused and decided to seek treatment elsewhere the 1/2 down magically was no longer necessary. There were more procedures that required out of pocket expenses than procedures that were covered by my insurance. It always felt like a constant upsell. (Read into that what you will) 9 out of 10 appointments I never knew what procedures were to be performed at that particular appointment. NEVER once did anyone ever introduce themselves or revel their position at this office. I never knew if I was interacting with a Dr., hygienist, dental assistant, office staff/manager or otherwise. During my last and final visit at Eureka Dental I was told I needed to pay an additional $350, after already paying $200, for some diagnostic imaging before any work could be performed. I've recently gone elsewhere and never paid a nickel to have the same work completed. In an effort to keep this review simple, factual and basic I will stop here. My sister went to the dentist today and it was the most unprofessional experience I have ever heard of. She was only supposed to receive a deep cleaning. They call "her" name and when she walks up they ask her if that was her name she says yes and the lady says I think this is the right patient. Didn't ask for a birthday or further info. She goes back and they start putting numbing gel on her before bringing out a shot. She looks at the dentist and ask if she's in the right room cause she's only getting a cleaning. He reassures her she's in the right room. After he numbs her she asks again and he continues to say that she's in the right place. He proceeds to give her 2 fillings before the receptionist comes in and tells the dentist she needs to talk to him. They had the wrong patient the whole time. After attending here for about a year, I can definitely say my experience wasn't extremely bad. They did a wonderful job giving me a filling... they did great at my cleanings too. I think what did it for me was the rescheduling. I can admit both 1st and 2nd time was my fault, I didn't call 48 hours in advance and they gave me a warning for both times and expressed that if I do the 3rd time, then they will kick me out of this dentist. (They didn't really say that, they just said warning but that's what really means). On May 25th of 2022 I had a 3rd rescheduled appt due for a filling.. my son and I got sick and he was actually exposed to covid, I might have to since it was his friend family that had it. I didn't want to take any chances so I called them literally the morning before (which I knew was already barely 24 hr let alone not even 48 hour advance) but I had to call to inform them since I didn't want to risk coming in. They told me they will see what they can do, I was hoping they can accommodate this and they said they will contact me back. About an hour or so later I got a call back, told them my situation again and they said in a stern voice like I was some child that I made too many rescheduling, they warn me already and that I can no longer come back to that place. Basically they made me kick rocks for this courtesy call for me being sick and instead of them being sympathetic, I had a stern rude voice that treated me like a child that ended the business badly with kicking me to the curb for treating me irresponsible. This 3rd time wasn't intentional and I was fully aware but I was more concerned to the fact I was sick with symptoms.. I even said, "so, U want me to go to my appt sick then with symptoms?"
